looking to just stock up on some plain black t-shirts. what brand do you guys like? looking for something fairly loose fitting and soft. will focus thread if there already is one but couldn't find one
-
Carhartt. But if you're looking to go SUPER cheap. Pro-Club at your local swapmeet and/or 5-for-10 spot.
-
I was grabbing some houesehold things at Target the other day and walked by the mens section and there were tees for $6 and I was in need of a few blank tees. Don't normally buy clothes there but figured what the fuck. So far not disappointed
-
A little bit pricey for a single blank tee but they are good quality if you can get your hands on them https://www.houseofblanks.com/pages/about-us (https://www.houseofblanks.com/pages/about-us)
-
Dickies when I want something crispy. They iron out so nice and are 100% cotton.
For undershirts it’s FOTL all day. So soft but wouldn’t wear as a shirt shirt as not crispy enough.
-
I don't think they make them anymore, but Cosco Kirkland plain white tee's are/were the best. I just picked up a 3-pack of Tommy Hilfiger for $14 at Ross.

Costco/Kirkland crew have a weird thick collar, couldn't get into them (they may have changed).
Next Level off Amazon are pretty good and decently priced:

Hanes Beefy T-shirts are usually pretty good. collar of the shirt is a little thicker than most and they do tend to shrink a bit if not taken care of properly but i love mine nonetheless!
-
comfort colors are pretty great shirts, thick too. little softer than hanes beefy though and i haven't run into the sizing problems hanes sometimes has. if i had to rank blank shirt brands it'd probably go: comfort colors > hanes beefy > gildan > canvas (only if given to me, shrinks terribly and is thin as all hell)

like a blank nike drifit t but cheaper. also nike doesnt make blank ones anymore.
-
got a couple brixton ones. my favorite ones so far. got a couple colors. nice soft and good kind of fit
-
If you're lookin to ball out a bit, Bayside is US union made and about $8 a shirt (until you hit big boy sizes). I've never had a tee from them, but I have one of their sweatshirts and it's excellent.

-
If you want something thick and boxy, I would look into the Uniqlo U shirts. I love them. Otherwise their packaged tees are nice too but definitely a lot thinner
-
Next level 1800 has that boxy fit ( what I rock)
Cheapest good brand would be gildan dry blend or they have the hammer T but shit collects lint and stuff for a least three washes...
-
Carhartt. But if you're looking to go SUPER cheap. Pro-Club at your local swapmeet and/or 5-for-10 spot.
Pro clubs are garbage lol, way too tight in the chest and fade like shit after one wash
-
Amazon Goodthreads, but you might want to size up a a size or two
-
Alstyle or Pro Club
-
Gildan Hammer - their more premium, heavier shirt. buy a size up.
-
They don’t have a straight up black in this blend, but seriously the softest, most comfortable shirts ever. My favorites.

Uniqlo U blank t shirts are pretty much all I wear now.

-
Ebay some all cotton vintage/usa made blanks.
Better quality, decent prices, no waste.
-
I buy Gap plain pocket tees whenever they are on sale, which is pretty often if I am being honest.
-
company named gurg that makes mostly underwear makes amazing basic t-shirts, but only in black and white.
i want to try the hammer adult t-shirt from gildan, these look pretty good. has like invisible seems.
-
If you know how a shirt fits and wears, it makes it a whole lot easier.
A while back I sourced a ton of blank shirts from wholesalers, mainly attached to the printing industry, but available to the public. Might have bought a few too many, but I will never run out and not worried if anything happens to one as they worked out so cheap per shirt, only a couple of $$ each really. Things might have changed since then, but that is the best way if you want more than just a few.
Gildan has a few options, as mentioned, but the 5000 series is my fav - fairly short overall compared to some brands but a really good tee for wearing around and fits well under everything else too.
AAA or Alstyle is the brand that all the old skate tees were done on back in the day - thicker and more long lasting, but good fit and not overly baggy / long for the sizes.
Fruit of the Loom - FOTL - were also good shirts when I had them.
There are a few other brands out there, but look up blank wholesale and you might find a bargain or two.
-
i don't mess with fotl anymore, their stuff always shrinks down so much. i'm like 5'6 and buying xl fotl shirts so they don't run too short.
aaa or alstyle i had a few of those, mostly from thriftshops, had a great hoodie that was also ill fitting though, again, i had to wear xl.
i want to check out stanley/stella. those blanks look good, but they are way pricier than gildan, but also recycled or made from organic cotton. so kind of in the middle of gildan/fotl(cheap as hell) and house of blanks(super premium). their blank hoodies run for 45 euros. several t-shirt cuts available. only problem is most shops only sell them if you let them print something on it.
-
Somewhere like this, which has bulk blank tshirts is what I was meaning, so if they work out about $3 a tee, then shipping, it is still very cheap for bulk shirts and not too expensive, eg 36 shirts are only around $100 or less (estimate for US)
https://www.wordans.com/gildan-2000-ultra-cotton-t-shirt-25742/c23-white
https://www.wordans.com/men-g27
This is the sort of thing here in AU that I have bought before.

Hanes Xtemp
They have them at Ross type stores if you want to get them at Target.
-
I've done a blank tee buy every year for the past few years. Different brands each time. This year was the Gildan Heavy Cotton and they are excellent. Got a band shirt on it and knew they were what I was looking for. Look for wholesalers. I got 20+ and it made them about $3 a shirt.
-
Uniqlo supima cotton tees, size up one
the U tees are nice but not soft at all
-
Amazon. It’s all about Bezos baby
-
I just copped 2 bags o tees yesterday.
Fucking expensive rn like 5 bucks more than last time...but I got these because they was $2 less than the Fruit of the loom. Big fucking mistake. Mo fos at walmart don't know shit.
So the stickers on the back don't necessarily reflect the shirt your holding.

Im kinda pissed. Not 100% cotton. I checked the underwear. Not 100% cotton either.
Poly is bad for you and it's bad for the planet.
I'm going to up my posting rate today.
-
ocean state job lot has really nice soft t shirts and long sleeves for $4 ea.
-
Volcom has plain t-shirts in 3 packs. Not super cheap but they are high quality.
-
Uniqlo U blank t shirts are pretty much all I wear now.
https://www.uniqlo.com/au/en/products/E422992-000?colorCode=COL45
I have two of these and while they're thicker and a little coarser than other t shirts, they break in really well and get a lot softer and nicer after a few washes. Will probably keep buying these for awhile.
-
Camber
-
My new hanes suck. Don't buy them.
-
next level or bella were good when i was screen printing. gildan soft style. usually like $7 a blank on amazon, probably closer to 4 if you have a wholesale account somewhere- keep in mind you could holler at a local screenprinter too, some keep blanks in stock.
-
they’ve been having Hanes heavyweight blanks at dollar general. In damn near every color too. They’re $5.00 a pop, but they are definitely better than the 10 pack one and done hanes white tees.
-
Just bought two black carhartt pocket Tees. we'll see how that goes.
-
They are expensive, even more so for those of us outside the US but the Mack Weldon "Silver" t-shirts have become my favorite. They are an athletic fit so if you wanted them looser I would say go a size larger than your usual. They actually have silver woven into the fabric and their sales pitch about them keeping you from stinking actually works. At least it does for me. I have like ten of them and they all fit exactly the same and have not gotten smaller or begun falling apart after many washings. They have no tags in them either which I really like.
https://mackweldon.com/collections/t-shirts/products/silver-crew-neck-t-shirt (https://mackweldon.com/collections/t-shirts/products/silver-crew-neck-t-shirt)
P.S. They seem to be out of black at the moment but it is a color I've seen them have. They sell out of certain colors quickly so I check the site regularly to see what's in stock.

I wear black carhartt pocket t's almost every day. Go one size down and you're golden.
-
Lilpeep merch is what I'm looking for. Please direct me to a website that sells it.
-
American Apparel tri blend are some of the absolute best IMO. They fit my tall slim ass perfectly in a medium. I know they're no longer made in America which sucks but the fit is still the same. I've had some of these shirts for like 6 years and they still look good.

Don’t knock it till you try it but the Lulu Lemon mens fundamental tees are great. Size up for sure due to the athletic fit on them. Trying to just have a few really good basics vs. 50 okay printed tees from the big 5
https://shop.lululemon.com/c/mens-t-shirts/_/N-8p1Z1z0vaey?icid=cdp-cdp:men-tshirts;2;collectioncard;cdp:mens-fundamental-tshirts;elevatedexperience
Still back, beefy tees, hammer tees and I mentioned next level 1800 has a boxy fit.
-
Hanes suck ass. They get all stretched out and deformed so fast.
If you're on the east coast the $5 Ts at ocean state job lot are great.

If you're willing to spend that much you should buy from Merz b Schwanen, they are great tshirts. Like, if you buy jeans from Gilbert Crockett, you would probably appreciate the Merz b Schwanen quality. I found a cheaper replacement from a local shop near me so I stopped buying them, but they are really nice. The ones I buy from the nice old lady are €12 for short sleeve €15 for long sleeve, so it's a little easier on the ol' pocketbook.

Yeah, but their stuff lasts forever (like the old L.L.Bean stuff before they got crappy). If you can, buy used. I have a pair of the Dance Studio baggy pants for like five years and they're still looking fresh. Wear 'em all the time too. :)

Thanks for the thread and info. I’ve been looking into ditching skate branding.
I look like the old guy who “used” to skate, which is accurate, unfortunately(i still get out there. Old dudes know what i’m talking about)
Think its time to hang up the indy t-shirt.
-
Uniqlo shirts are a good value. Stuff like Hanes are just cheap. Super cheap shirts are just low quality fabric, and made in exploitive conditions in rock bottom labor markets. I like usa made stuff personally, bayside is decent, though their fabric is made from cheap cotton. Jungmaven is really nice. I have 5 hemp blend shirts I got from them 5+ years ago that are still in great shape that I wear on a weekly basis.

I'm bout to offend a ton of people but skate shirts and pants are tacky and overpriced as fuck. That shit is maybe cool if you're in middle/high school or sponsored.
I'll rock skate hats and shoes but that's about it.

Still the best for me to skate in. The Next Level shirts off Amazon. Great fit (they have a few different fits and materials) and super comfy; they've ranges of cheap to a bit more and the sellers are very competitive.
Black/Navy, two pack, $7 each.

Tons of color combos.

a lot of core brands print on durable (Independent Trading Company) T's and Hoodies
same quality and feel with no annoying logo like blank decks in the 90's
-
The target brand, goodfellow, the white 3 pack.

Banks Journal is kinda expensive but I love all their blank stuff.

The best plain black shirt though were the Jerzees Heavy Triblend packs; they don't shrink and fit great even if you start to get chubbier. I haven't been able to find those in a couple years though so it's all Carhartt pockets tees for me now.

My usual day to day go to tee is the Uniqlo blanks. Good assortment of color options ( I usually got with black and grey) and very affordable.
Similar feel to alstyle or carhartt (stiff but breathable)

My dickies heavy tees have been lasting me for a few years now and I like to wear them skating. The color of one of them is starting to go, but so far no holes and the form has stayed the same.

Isn't this exactly what Uniqlo is? Their stuff is nothing special. Looks ok at first but doesn't last at all.

JCrew broken-in t-shirts are my usual go-to. They’re not cheap, but there’s always a sale, and the quality is so much higher than anything sold in packs that it makes sense for me to just buy the higher quality item. Also lots of color options other than white, blue and black. As a bonus, you’re not dressed like a 14 year old at the skatepark.
Avoid anything “JCrew Outlet” because that shit is trash.
-
Has anybody done the Ben Davis blank pocket tees? I've been a carhartt guy for years and just bought some from Amazon and some from MLTD and it seems the quality has gone down - seems thinner and the neck is not as tight as ones in the past. I cannot stand a stretched out neck. Please help pals

i find it honestly a whole notch better than stuff like h&m. sweaters, pants and jackets are literally amazing compared to simirlarily priced competitors. my main problem is it's hard to find the right size because their stuff is inconsistent. sometimes they have differently sized models for the same size pant but the pant look the same. sus.

I agree with this. J. Crew tees are nice and they have crazy sales often. The "Factory" thing is correct too. For years I did not know factory/outlet was not the same as normal stores for all the big brands like JC, Gap, Bannana Republic, etc. .

I recently got a Ben Davis beefy t that’s real nice . Identical to the Uniqlo U fit with short sleeves almost to the elbow . I do like this fit but have to be in the mood . Quality seems sold . I’ve seen people with the pocket tees abs they look they have had for 20 years .
