Via Mark Appleyard IG.
He was always killing it in skate maps on the Zoo York team.

rip!

Just registered (after realising I've locked myself out of my actual account) to post this, saw it on Appleyard's Instagram a few minutes ago.
So strange, was just thinking about him a few days ago and realised I hadn't seen his skating in a long long time.
Rest in Peace Robert
-
Damn. He really fucking ripped. There was an older video I’ve mentioned here before where he tried to ollie this massive gap into a parking lot, didn’t land it but it was so big. Still think about that clip a lot as a reminder to just go for it when I’m trying to ollie bigger things. Rest In Peace.
-
He was a powerhouse! RIP
-
Dang! He was so gnarly. R.I.P.
-
Sad day for the island RIP the best puertorican Skater
-
I used to see him on Skate Maps, he was the coming storm that was Ams who went harder than pros. He skated the biggest sets & gaps without fear. This is terrible news.

Damn! Always wondered what happened to him. Seemed like he could’ve gotten a better deal than Zoo at some point at his skill level for the time. He killed it on Skate Maps. What a bummer
-
RIP
-
Damn RIP.
Random, but I watched him try to nollie back 180 the Love gap way back.
He didn't land on any but was bringing them down. As an avid nollie back 180'er I remember thinking what an INSANE thing that would be to even try. He definitely had a ton of heart.
-
Fuckin' hell. RIP
-
He has a rad part in this PR video that flew under the radar. It has the footage of this massive boardslide from a Substance Skateboards ad if anyone remembers that.

Link is tagged to his part, but not embedding.
Such a great skater. Some of the stuff he did in the Bay Area when he was living here is psycho. RIP.
-
Terrible news. I remember a TWS road trip article with Zoo, around 2002-ish. Rest in peace..
-
rip

Dude was sick rip
-
Damn, been so long since I heard that name, he was a ripper for sure. RIP
-
dang bummer... i actually just brought him up the other day when remembering when he passed through New Jersey and how good he was.... sad

Rest Easy Amigo :'(

he was way too young to die, what the hell happened?
-
He had heavy clips in every video he was in. Could've been way bigger.
RIP
-
Skate Maps memories.
RIP
-
Damn. This one sucks. I worked at a shop when I was 17 and Osiris came to town and I showed them around to a few spots. Me and Robert chilled and just talked about everything. He was mad cool. RIP man.
-
Another skate maps reference but that dude was so raw. I remember they would roll up to a spot and while everyone was checking it out he’d be the first one to charge it. His confidence was insane and very inspiring as a little kid learning to skate. RIP to a true ripper.
-
Damn, I just stumbled across his instagram a couple months ago and was psyched to see he was still skating. RIP :(
-
RIP, great skater!
-
Damn, RIP. One of my favorite things being in PR was hearing about the crazy shit he did at each spot we'd end up at. It turned into a running joke to make up something crazy and obviously impossible that he did, and then try to figure out if truth or fiction. It was hard.
-
What happened?
This really sucks, he was a total beast.
RIP
-
Damn that’s a sad one, dude was a straight-up gnarly beast on a board. I had high hopes for him when he was coming up, shame he never made it to the big leagues.
RIP to Puerto Rico’s finest.

RIP

Sad day for the island RIP the best puertorican Skater
Dude made some of the spots there lool manageable until you roll up to it in real life. Rip
-
Fuck!!! I forgot how gnarly this guy was! RIP
Does anyone have those skate maps episodes uploaded somewhere? Didn't see anything on youtube
-
Did anyone else watch Skate Maps exclusively through the DVD mail version of Netflix? They didn't have many skate vids but they had just about all the skate maps and it was fucking awesome getting those in the mail for a week

Yep, I did. Why isn't it posted online anywhere???
-
R.I.P man was great
-
Always thought this dude would have got the Zero treatment at some point. He was gnarly. Watching all his old vids looks like he was Toy Machine flow for a bit. That 411VM part still holds up. Double set kickflip was boosted. RIP

Thats true. In Hurley tours, Robert was doing way gnarly tricks in Diego's spots, and Diego didn't like that.
-
He was amazing in Skate Maps when I saw it on Fueltv 2004-5, just shredded & I was just learning about skating
-
this guy was gnarly. REST IN PEACE
-
I was shocked to see it on ig that he had passed away. He was a powerhouse that skated like he was indestructible. RIP to a great skateboarder.
-
he was way too young to die, what the hell happened?
from what I’ve seen, it was suicide. which is very unfortunate. he was very talented, and seemed like a genuinely nice guy.

Still a weird story considering how nice is Diego; but I’ll take it ;D
