The story about Caswell is hilarious. Weinerschnitzel is the worst of the worst fast food...actually their dipped cones are pretty good

If you read the Puleo story in this about the naked Blind rider, and then read the Kasper story in Jerry's "People I Know" you can deduce that it was Kasper who showed Puleo his glistening nude wet body.

Fact- when does the slap pile-on start?

I loved the whole thing and bet there are infinitely more stories.

Louie was in 7th grade in 91 when the first Gulf War started.

I don't think so.

He met his friend in 7th grade. Then he says "The first Gulf War started (January 1991) and I remember asking him, “What are we gonna do if they draft us?”

We're usually only around 13 in the 7th grade so If he was concerned about being drafted he was more likely closer to the age of eligibility in 1991.

1991 - maybe 17 years old = 1974

2021 - 1974 = 47 years old

EDIT : I took a break from calculating budget formulas in my spreadsheet to relax on slap and this is what I end up doing SMH

Good one. Specially nice to hear a PJ story from the WHL days.

I skated that contest. PJ was literally invisible at that contact, he skated behind the q-pipes flat by himself mostly, then dropped in and won. Beat out Bastien on his peak who got second.

Me and a friend somehow linked up with PJ that weekend and skated around Helsinki with him. Had no idea who he was more then that he rode for Element and had won the contest. A week later I was at a skateshop in Stockholm and they popped in the WHL video. Was pretty chocked and no-one believed me when I told them I skated with him last week in Finland.

Nollie flip into the quarterpipe, 360 flip the pyramid, kickflip down a gap, fs 360 heelflip a hip, kickflip feeble grind a handrail, fs big heel a bank and a hardflip revert on a quarterpipe.

I remember this because it was one of my favorite childhood skate memories and I am a total nerd. I had not sen the the WHL videopart yet, but had heard about it on this very forum. I remember being disappointed because he was nowhere to be seen during practise and I thought he had skipped the contest. But he was just chilling in the corner by himself. And only touched the course during his runs. A couple of the tricks are in this clip https://youtu.be/7j5dIa1WRls.

"I met Dylan when he was about 13 or 14. For some reason we always shared a room on tour. I think it was because I was always the goofy uncle drinking Bacardi and Cokes and being silly and Jerry was the cool-guy uncle not saying a word, just sitting back, watching, smoking cigs. I’m so stoked he took after Uncle Jer. I’ll never forget the last time we hung out. I had flown to LA and he surprised me by picking me up at the airport. As we drove to the office we just chatted about nonsense and reminisced on old days. I think about that car ride and wished I’d been more honest with him. I wish I could’ve told him I loved him and how I was proud of him. I think about him a lot—one of the greatest to ever do it."

Damn that Dylan one sucked to read. Amazing to recall they both rode for Osiris at home point.

Where does it say anything about him breaking in or trying to break in? He knocked on the glass sliding door, he didn’t try to break open the glass sliding door to get in or anything. Sounds like he probably thought he was being smooth or suave or quirky or something by James Bonding to her glass door and knocking on it, and probably thought she would find it amusing or suave, when it just weirded her out. Doubt he was actually trying to break in.

I know the article says it was published online 4/28/21 and I haven't touched a physical copy of thrasher in a while, but was this out before? A few of them seem real familiar and I've heard the Caswell Berry one before because it's the only thing I know about Weinerschnitzel. Anyway, these People I've Known are great, except for Neckface because all he did was list out celebreties that he had a one off encounter with. Keep them coming.

Thanks for the share this is the first time I'm reading one of these.

I found the Ali Boulala story pretty funny I mean just the idea of a bunch of guys watching a plane get further and further away from them while they stand there is hilarious

The rest of the series is gold, Jerry Hsu's one is good too.
