What tunes would I play?
You know the deal: you're in a dungeon or holed up in a bunker and I want to drive you insane.
What music am I playing at full volume 24-7 to break you?
For me it's probably Coldplay. It's on all the time at work and that guy's voice just sounds like whining to me.

Just any top 40 radio station for me.

There are so many radio rock bands I find absolutely insufferable.
U2 is near the top of the list. I have a real aversion to overly produced preachy music and I just see U2 as the embodiment of that. I also don't think The Edge is that monumental or influential of a guitarist that people make him out to be.
Nirvana rips but the rest of grunge/post-grunge is pretty stale and generic to my ears. Pearl Jam and Alice In Chains have a hit here or there but for the most part, I find it to be boring and formulaic. Not objectively bad music like U2, just really doesn't do it for me.
Lastly, my favorite band of all time is Oasis but I could go the rest of my life not hearing Wonderwall ever again. Song really diluted the greatness of the band's amazing first three albums into one song that will endlessly be covered by acoustic guitar bros and sung at karaoke bars.

It is really fascinating how easy it is to identify Christian rock. Hitting "seek" on the radio I feel like I can figure it out within 3 seconds, without doing any linguistic processing, and I don't think I am unique by any means. I can even do it for Spanish stations even though my Spanish is very limited. It must be related to the chord progressions and other such stuff.

I was born in 88 and really didn't get into music until my teens, so I could be completely wrong about this stuff, but did GNR really bring anything new to rock when they came into the game? There are bands I don't care for but appreciate (black flag, kook away), but I can't really find anything redeemable about GNR. I guess it really doesn't matter. I don't like GNR.

Oh I don’t think I’m in any position to answer any of that, regardless I enjoy the classic black sabbath songs but besides those I never tried digging further. Another genre I’d go mad listening to is dubstep, that shit fucking sucks, EDM in general sucks.
