Title: most subtle way to remove rebar spikes??
Post by: curbcunt on August 24, 2021, 12:30:02 AM
what’s the most subtle way to get rid of rebar spikes sticking out of stuff like parking blocks? Idk if some bolt cutters really work? they seem like the least noise idk about effective tho
Would this heavily mess up the block from keeping it in place by removing the bits on top in general??

Can you post a photo of ledge in question, Mr. Cunt

How much time and patience do you have on your hands? You could spray a salt water solution on them regularly and oxide/corrode them until they're completely rusted out. Who knows how long that might take but it will be the quietest solution.

like these?

you should just trip and fall
let it slice your wrist up real good and sue the lot owner

pick up the parking block with a crowbar, then sledge hammer the rebar out of the cement/pavement below

bolt cutters and hacksaws work for ledges, but you might not get it flush enough to grind over it

One blow with a 3lb sledge hammer would be extremely discrete because who doesn't walk around with a 3 pound sledge

How subtle are you going to skate the spot once the spikes are gone

Try a cordless angle grinder and a cut off or grinding wheel.

Fastest, cut off wheel. Loud and sparks so people will easily know. Slow, hacksaw. Takes time and muscle but way less conspicuous. If you go hacksaw route only put your weight into it when pushing away from you. If you keep weight on it while pulling back it’ll just dull the blade really fast.

Yeah it's definitely loud. A cordless sawzall can be fairly quiet if you go slow and don't full throttle the thing. But a hacksaw would do the job just fine.

Grinder, like everyone said
This goes for anything even a rub brick except you’d use a cup stone and for that you’d do it away from cunts because dust
You’ll look weird like going up to a ledge and trying to discreetly saw some shit off with a a hacksaw cunts will think you’re on drugs deadset best bet dress up like a tradesperson take a cordless angle grinder and an empty bucket bring the grinder in the bucket and put the shit you cut off in the bucket when you finish
Use a cut off disc and go cut them all off then change to the deburring disc you get with any new grinder and get rid of all the sharp edges, don’t leave any shite hanging off them
Don’t fuck around taking photos or calls in between, don’t bring your mates just in and out, easy as

Deadset any other method you will look like a weird cunt and therefore arouse suspicion

Edit
By dress up I mean wear your fucken polar pants you do you just wear a high vis shirt or a blue button up work shirt and some steel capped boots
Ideally you’d have some safety glasses I wouldn’t worry about earmuffs unless you’re grinding it instead of rub brick

The most subtle way is to just boost it up with a crowbar on one side, slip 2 bricks underneath it or something similar, jack up the other side, add the bricks to that side.  that way you dont need to remove the spikes at all. once you raise it up like 1-2 inches, the holes will be clear and its acutally much better to skate it at this height than the "default" parking block height imo.

even if you take it fully off, its definitely still skateable and wont move too mcuh, but realize that ground in general is never actually 100% flat so depending where you put it , it could start helicoptering. but if you do what i suggested above, you will still have the spikes to hold it in place and it will be super solid. that is what this dude and i were going to do at a local curb, but it turned out he was a pedo and went to jail so that plan never happened :s
