Lurker Lou said it sucks, but still, I'd like to learn it.
I can lock into it, but I can't slide it.
I know I should use more wax (maybe), but any more tips for sliding it would be appreciated.

Speed homie, and a lil unhhhh when that nose hits the ledge to get a sliding. I learned em and lost them, so now I plan on relearning them just for you!

Try to do halfcab crook when you miss the grind you will get the good solid slide

Interesting advice.
I like to come in at a slight angle and when I get within a half a board length from the ledge I try to swerve away from the ledge while popping the tail out and away from the ledge like an alley oop. This helps to turn the board into the ledge quickly and maintain momentum. Trying to over rotate to crooked grind might add additional forward action.
Remember you cannot place your nose on the ledge. The faster you spin and land on the ledge the further you will slide. Coming out to forward will then be just like a regular nose slide.
Half cab 50/50 is the same motion, but get even closer to the ledge a pop a full half cab.
Fun tricks for someone who is more comfortable fakie than switch.

Thanks everyone, very helpful <3

Put your head over your front foot during the slide. During the slide pretty much all weight on the ball/toes of you front foot but lean back a bit. Find a downhill ledge for much easier sliding.

But what if I want to do a Half Cab Crook? Anyone got pointers on those?

Pop a little higher and come at an angle. Think of doing a big half cab and from there you’re already in position to throw the truck in to crook.

try not to land all toe on the nose you'll stick. Try to have the whole foot evenly placed across the nose

Be sure to pop so your nose gets over the ledge. Lean back before you even pop. That helps me to lock into a good slide.

Leaning back before I pop? Never thought about that. Thanks mate, will try that.

or think of it like this: when you pop, push your legs/ nose out in front of you further than you think to stop you from sticking. To get the feel of them in the beginning, you can just drop back off to fakie, that way it's just like a quick nose bash!

Anyone know the secret to 270 out of the 1/2 Cab Nose? I can never rotate early enough, so I'll roll our regular (90 degree rotation) and then slide the remaining 180 degrees after all 4 wheels have hit the ground.
-
All good tips on the half-cab nose, unfortunately I never landed one. Only slid a few. It'll be snowing next week as well, it sucks but maybe next year. With winter, I can barely practice the tricks I already know how to do, much less learn new ones.

I need to know this too! I can 270 out of slappy nose slides but it’s all revert…

That's another great tip. Thanks mate.

I find approaching the ledge at a more aggressive angle helps with these.
Also really getting your weight on top of the ledge is key - focusing just on popping the halfcab properly helps assure this for me.

I really suck. What I did today I will not be able to do tomorrow
For some reason I have to try and usually zip out of frontside nose slides to understand backside. It's weird but it works for me.
Nose slide is a trick that went away because people like me could do them
Have fun!
