Title: Curb spots west side LA
Post by: Rockin Robbin on October 11, 2021, 07:13:44 PM
I’m too old to jump down stuff and learned slappys over COVID. Have a bunch of buddies in the same boat. We all live in Venice/Culver/Mar Vista and have been looking for some good weekday curb spots to hit between meetings.

Weekends are good at the SM DMV, Venice High, Venice & Via Marina manual pad, etc. but weekday spots are harder to come by. Who’s got some good curb/manny pad suggestions for an old man playing hooky from work?

I hear there are some double sided curbs by the beach.

@Rockin Robbin The Douglas Park ledges are pretty small. Maybe half the size of the courthouse ledges. There’s also the bridge spot in Culver City off of National. Neither are really sloppy spots, but may be something fun to hit. I’m on the east side so my local spots are Costco and Eagle Rock high

Fox Hills Mall has some good islands underneath the freeway, depending on how busy the mall is you can get lucky. Also, the entire perimeter has perfect California reds, especially over by the Tesla chargers. There is a security patrol but they're pretty easy to dodge, and depending on who's on shift they might not even care. Might be a little farther south than you can get on a lunch break, but thats my go-to.

They’ve got light poles in the parking lot, especially under the freeway. Some of them have a big banked base and you can wallie off of them. Less light on the red curbs around the perimeter after the shops close, but still plenty skateable.

Can confirm, these are a lot of fun. Plenty of space, parking lot isn’t super busy. There’s corners, curved curbs, some dug out curbs, lots of fun lines you can string together.

There’s some ledges by the baseball field as well.
