I broke my wrist at that first metal bank spot they skated. The metal is very slick and the run up sucks so bad.

who is the guy that looks like the orchid thief

Yeah that metal bank is treacherous and has taken many people out. The key to making it less slippery is to pour some pop on it. Sorry to hear about the injury.

That's actually brilliant.
The injury turned into quite an ordeal but I'm on the other side now. Probably won't be going back there anytime soon though, haha.

Fun watch, love how they put it to some [presumably] Detroit techno as well. The birthplace of techno (the specific subgenre of electronic music).

NORAAAAAAAAA
so proud of the homie
-
so from the looks of it, every skateboarder should relocate to detroit. that was so sick (but they probably made a lot of those spots look easier than they are.)
anyone in the know got local videos to share/recommend??

That's house in the video
Hotly debated if techno was created in Detroit. There was techno around before Juan Atkins / Cybotron. No matter how much they wanna take credit for it.
None the less Detroit is where the music really gained legs. Techno now is predominantly European thing.

Detroit has a great skate scene and one of the most unified and motivated skate communities around. Tons of spots and very few skatestoppers compared to most big cities. No doubt though that much of the ground and spots are pretty rough and more difficult to skate than they appear on video.
An all Detroit video that came out in 2014

Being something of a pedant I'd argue the first track is house music rather than strictly techno, but both tracks they used in the video are from Detroit, and both absolute classics at that. First one is Moodymann 'Tribute! (To The Soul We Lost)', second one is The Bob Segar System '2+2=?'
-
Seger is technically from downriver. I’m not going to argue this. Let us have Seger. Please.
