Terrible news.

Jesus that’s awful. Was such a fan. Best just front wall rides. Jake Johnson said somewhere max is the best wallrider. I still watch essence of freedom all the time.
Loved his rough draft part too

horrible. one of the last times i saw him he said boynton beach was a rusty bag of chips. no clue what that meant but it was funny as shit. rest easy max ❤️

Fuck, so sad. Always loved any footage I saw of him since I first saw that Rough Draft part. So much power in his skating. Had this part on repeat pretty regularly since it came out. Makes me want to try to ollie higher, go faster, wallride bigger. Reece Forbes comparison is on point.

wow, sad news. got to know him a little during his stay in sf. nice dude & amazing skater. rest in peace, max.

I know it sounds cliché to say this sort of thing but his Rasa Libre part really opened by eyes to skating and not giving a fuck about how clean or complicated something was… Like watching that part and whatever random Clark Hassler (10 years seems so far away lol) was popping off around that time really informed me that skateboarding is supposed to be fun and that you should want to bomb hills and mash walls some days and not worry about being up to a standard. Nevertheless Max was an amazing skater but that’s just what he meant to me. I don’t know it was really a right place at the right time sort of thing for me so I’ll always appreciate him for that. Being a fucking skate nerd, watching so many videos, you never know what’s going to click but I always thought that dude had “it.” Just my opinion anyways. Much love to his friends and family.

Gut punch.
The hills of fair SF still ask after him, longing for his sweet caress.
Roll on, Max. Roll on, and long may you wave.

Always a fan when he put out footage. He was a frontrunner on bringing this type of skating back, that is inspired from midninetis raw sf/east coast skating. Very sad news. He was never a big name, but he had a big impact in forming skating towards wallrides, fast skating, hills and beautiful raw creative lines.
Us that appreciate this type of skating loved his videos. RIP. Skateboarding lost another one :'(
