If you got HBOMax so you could watch Dune, now you can watch this. "Never before seen Neil Blender footage" has a certain je ne saiz qua to it.

Tempted to correct your French but I'll do neither.
-
no, but i really want that unreleased Blender footy!
-
I'll check it out. It could be good, who knows
-
I'll watch it. Tony was cool to me in 1990 or 1991, so I owe
-
I have time.
But only after I finish the 100-ft Wave docu-series.
-
I could watch 2 hours of Neil Blender doing backside ollies at Sadlands and not get bored.

That one was sick. There's a Burton snowboarding doc that looks promising on HBO too.

It'll probably be fine. skateboard documentaries tend to be a little self aggrandizing though.

Yeah, why not? It’s freezing out and I barely make use of my HBO sub.
I’m sure a lot will watch solely so they have more to rant about lol
-
This is different from the Skateboarding in SD thing?
-
I hope they address the eyebrow thing.
-
Probably. I mean why not?
-
i will watch it until my eyes fall out
-
Shoulda called it "Hawk Until You Drop".
-
Hell no - dunno why, but i’ve always thought he was lame as fuck.
Kook away.

Jesus, is that from a bad tv makeup person, or like a legit cosmetic tattoo or something? I googled it and saw a reddit post that looked like he just took a jumbo sharpie to it.
-
You think they'll address when he left his wife for his best friend's wife? If not, you think we'll at least get a Bagel Bite commercial second angle?
-
Will they talk about birdhouse boards, specifically old Heath graphics?

It was mildly interesting to see the beginnings of snowboarding, but it really lost me after that. One takeaway is that snowboarders, who are obviously mostly white, have more sun damage than any other group of people I’ve ever seen. I mean I get why, I just never thought about it until you see two dozens harshly lit snowboarders in closeup.
As for the Hawk doc, of course I’ll watch it. Who wouldn’t? He’s Hawk, and like it or not he’s on of the key players in the entire history of skateboarding.
-
if presented with teh opportunity i suppose, but i wont go out of my way

I assume it’ll be a hagiography, but hopefully they get into his three divorces.

btw this is my favorite doc on skateboarding about NATAS KAUPAS
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p4j1vKCmrXE
my favorite skaters of all time are the GONZ and NATAS to me they are like Goku and Vegeta you just cant fuck with the classics
if someone has a Doc about the GONZ id really love to see that! and any more Natas stuff would be awesome, sorry to derail this cornball thread ;D

If my mother in-laws shared password still works sure.
-
If there's some cool stories about the 80s sure, why not?
-
sam jones is the shit, i'll 100% be watching this

I'm excited for the next gen of these documentaries. All these current docs feel like an extended press release/highlights reel. Who's down to make the second Duane Peters or Danny Way documentary?

Only if they can be called “Getting away with murder: the Danny Way story”. That’ll sell.
-
I sat through that horrid DC Danny Way Doc in the theaters, so I'll sit through this as well.
Did anyone watch the NYC skate doc yet? That looked fucking amazing.
Also, waiting for Craig Stecyk to make a Florida skate doc. I'd like to see more docs to counter the Dog Town/Stacey Peralta narrative.

Tony Hawk is great and great for skateboarding. That said I really want to hear about the wife steal.
Fox News - November 11th, 2014
Skateboarding legend Tony Hawk divorced his third wife, Lhotse Merriam, for his best friend and business partner Matt Goodman's wife, Cathy, the New York Post reported Tuesday citing sources.
Merriam found out about her action sports star husband's new relationship in December after she discovered a plane ticket for Cathy that Hawk had booked for her to join him in San Francisco -- despite his being lifelong friends with Matt Goodman.
Hawk filed for divorce in San Diego from Merriam on Feb. 11. They have one child together, Kadence Clover, and Hawk has three sons from two previous marriages.
"We remain deeply committed and loving parents to our daughter, and out of respect for that responsibility we ask that people honor our family's privacy during this important time of transition," the couple said in a statement at the time.
Hawk married Merriam, his former publicist, in 2006, two years after divorcing his second wife, Erin, his former nanny.
Cathy was married to Goodman for nearly 20 years, and they have two kids. Sources said Goodman and Cathy have now separated.
Hawk -- who is credited with putting skateboarding on the map and who became a multimillionaire from his "Tony Hawk Pro Skater" video games -- and Cathy were recently spotted in New York together, sources said.
Hawk and Goodman had been friends since childhood. Sources said Goodman stood as a groomsman at every one of Hawk's three weddings.
Goodman and Hawk also founded action sports movie company 900 Films together.
Merriam had no comment the Post called for a response, and neither did Goodman.
A rep for Hawk said, "We do not comment on the personal lives of our clients."

Hectic.. There’s always been something that just rubbed me the wrong way - I’ve mentioned this in another thread about Hawk, but him claiming “this is the best day of my life” after landing the 900 is just sad IMO. And just now learning that he mowed his good friends lawn is not that surprising.

the first half is pretty much what you would expect, kind of like the bones brigade documentary remade only about tony. rodney being corny and “deep”. peralta talking more than anyone else, by a lot. lots of touchy feely stuff brushed in with 80s competitions to ‘rise above’ or ‘kids of the black hole’. duane spitting on him and interviews with him being “punk” and tacky. same old shit. then as it obviously develops into vert dying/his career struggling and then into 900 talk just as you would assume, it actually does get better. it’s cool to hear neil be interviewed and included so much more than i expected, though i don’t recall any unseen footage unfortunately other than him talking at a contest very briefly. there’s actually a surprisingly emotional duane moment that can jerk a tear about a moment with tony after his son passed away. it doesn’t necessarily touch on him cheating on his wife but, it does hint at it. riley is interviewed and they talk about him being raised in a strange environment of different parents/co parents and the other kids having a separate mother so, it just kind of leaves it open for interpretation. it also talks about his relationship/romance problems and how he had to go get treatment for them. all in all it’s obviously got it’s corniness, it’s always hard for me to watch skateboarders i look up to displayed in documentaries with the soundtrack from “pay it forward” mixed in with adolescents, joy division, black flag, buzzcocks e.t.c. but, it’s hbo. it wasn’t terrible. its cool to see how many relationship/personality problems he overcame while still being one of the greatest skateboarders ever, if not the. obviously the first true skateboard celebrity juggling that with children and a wild career. he does have an interesting story, i would honestly say as many gnarly stories/injuries as danny way has, he isn’t skating anywhere near the level tony still has been for quite some time while overcoming those types of injuries/issues into his 40s/50s. lance says something bittersweet in the end about how they will probably end up dying doing what they love and they have to accept that, then it’s just kind of over. it leaves you wanting more just because it gets a lot more real towards the end and honest. all in all, the film really shows how he is the most determined skateboarder of all time (in my eyes) thus far. i would say it is worth a watch if you are a skateboard nerd like me.

Absolutely loved the film.
At one point as they were interviewing Lance I almost couldn't believe it was real. Seems rare to see skateboarding history so highly produced. Just wild to see how much work went into tracking down the early to mid 80s stuff. Such a great soundtrack. Touched on some things that I think most people were unaware of.
The best part of the doc was the crowd literally booing baby Tony at that contest. Insanity
I got the vibe that Tony had some sort of sex addiction/infidelity addiction? Rough stuff.
What a life Tony has led. Incredible.
-
Have wondered if Tony took the classic Too $hort lyric from "Cusswords":
"You'll get me real mad and I'll fuck your wife" a bit seriously.
-
I thought this was pretty mediocre. Aside from the interviews with Blender, Mountain and Peters, there was little to see here that isn't already widely known, certainly not if you've seen the Bones Brigade documentary. I was hoping it would get into it with him more personally (the four marriages, rehab, etc.), but it's just another hagiography from an incredibly self-aware dude with a team of publicists who carefully craft his public image.
I would still say any skater, especially any older skater or a young skater with an interest in old school skating and skateboard history should watch it. It's competently made and compelling enough to hold your attention for two hours.

If you listen to Tony's podcast, he just had the director on this week. Tony had no creative control over the Doc. Sam Jones put it together and showed Tony what he had. Even in the podcast this week Tony opens up about some aspects he has a problem with, that being Stacy and Lance's comments about him still skating at the level he has been.
Also, did you think for just 1 minute that maybe, just maybe, this wasn't made for just skateboarders to watch? How many average folks do you think have actually watched the Bones Brigade Doc? Probably none.

None of that makes the film any better and frankly it's bizarre that you feel the feel to defend it so emotionally.

Well done, nice to see skateboarding history relayed thoroughly without pandering to the masses. Strange they interviewed Duane for this, guy has gone pretty far off the deep end and was never a friend to Tony. Guess they needed a critic of sorts but he's not exactly a reliable narrator, to say the least. Rodney comes across like a wise elder wizard or something here, really wonder what people who don't know him would think. Weird they say Tony went to rehab but never say why. I guess you can connect the dots on the relationship stuff but barely. If you're going to bring it up at least explain it to some extent. Really get a sense of how hard Tony still skates at his age, solely for the love and that's incredible.

Emotionally? You implied Tony's PR team delicately dictated what the subject matter would be. All I said was that that wasn't the case and I know that because it came from Tony's mouth and the director himself.
The only thing that's "bizarre" is the fact that you don't understand how much of an impact Tony had on skating. Hagiography? lol

The initial screening he was like 6 days off breaking his femur, of course he was on something. That being said inpatient rehab seems a bit much for infidelity issues.
Riley was in it quite a bit, he had it rough with Tony changing wives every few years.

Yeah, it was incredible to completely gloss over the rehab thing. Like just to mention rehab, but not what for, is very sus. If I had to guess, maybe sex addition? He mentions his issues with intimacy (lol obviously) during the doc, so that would track. It would also be funny is Hawk went to rehab for sex addiction.

Would love to see a Gonz or TG doc. Maybe on HBO Min.
I too would love to see something like this from someone with the budget and pedigree of Sam Jones, although Gonz has never seemed too keen to talk at length about the past. Still burns my ass how little attention was given to TG in the Bones Brigade doc. Something on pre-EMB SF street skating with all the 43 shit and making Sick Boys, etc. would be really interesting if done correctly.

Tony Hawk is great and great for skateboarding. That said I really want to hear about the wife steal.
Fox News - November 11th, 2014
Expand Quote
Never let it be said that Tony Hawk doesn’t lay pipe.

It wasn’t bad. Nothing too surprising other than Neil Blender saying he’s never even tried a 540. That blew my mind.
I can’t decide if taking at length with Rodney would be awesome or fucking infuriating.

It was impressive that the director managed to show 900 bails of the 900 throughout the movie

Four page thread mostly of people taking the time to note they are too cool for this documentary but will probably watch it anyway.

Rodney spoke with poise. While Duane is a strange out of touch mess. How could anyone carry the same ideals for so long without learning a single thing.
Punk rock! Yeah the stuff about him cheering when Frank Hawk died was juvenile and ignorant.
-
Watched it last night and thought it was awesome. I thought it was weird that they talked about him going in to get some kind of treatment but then really expound upon it (addiction, depression, alcohol abuse?). My wife was speculating that it was probably inpatient therapy of some kind. I agree that they did leave it off on kind of a cliff hanger when talking about the long term effects of the injuries Tony has sustained (Lance said something along the lines that they will literally die on their boards). Loved the soundtrack. Had no idea that his mom had him when she was 43. It was cool that he included that he got a $20 million advance from Activision based on the popularity of his videogames. All in all, it was a great watch.

this kind of stuff is way more interesting than the usual hero story we get in documentaries. my only hope is that, much like say michael jordan or tiger woods, tony hawk is eventually covered with more attention given to the fact that he isn't perfect.

I was surprised they had so much Duane in it. It kind of made me sad knowing Jeff Grosso isn't around anymore and would have definitely have been apart of this.
Maybe it was me, but I found the whole "We're going to die doing this" section at the end to be a little odd. Maybe, it's just me in denial of aging and the fact that skating is going to leave myself chronically hurt.
-
Watched it, was pretty good. Rodney and Lance stole the show. Interesting discussion on aging at the end there.
-
Just finished watching it and man was that beautiful. I was so surprised they got Neil Blender to talk in be in it. Mullen spoke so eloquently especially at the end. There should a an hbo style documentary on him. Duane Peter's is a fucking asshole. Saying that shit about his dad right after he passed away. Tony showed class at that moment. The ending really got to me and made me think of my own mortality. When Lance talked about all the concussions and saying he may have CTE shocked me. Made me think that Tony may end up like his mom in the beginning of the doc which I really hope he doesn't. Overall I'll give this and 8.5/10.

When Lance was on the 9 Club, a number of people here speculated that he might have CTE. That was what Grosso speculated happened to Duane, why he went so far off the deep end.

If you are old enough to have been around then you'd agree. Few cared about Rodney, everyone you knew had the Mark Gonzales vision board.
Rodney did it all almost stationary on flat on boards that you couldn't even find in most shops. Mark took that and straight up invented modern street skating with it. Transworld agrees, Thrasher agrees....you not knowing furthers my point that a documentary on Gonz needs to be made ASAP. Isn't really even arguable.

maybe if it ends up on Netflix, but only to hear Blender's and Lance's stories/perspectives...never gave a fuck about Hawk in the 80s and he's only consistently gotten cornier since--perhaps a generational thing, but i never thought skateboarding needed an "ambassador" to mainstream consumer culture and i've never liked tricks that involve spinning really...i love that i read above that Blender says he never even tried a 540...of course he didn't.
in re Duane's insensitivity towards Frank Hawk's death and the suggestions that the documentary needed Grosso, i would say Grosso hated Frank Hawk (i.e. the NSA) as much as--if not more than--anyone back then

difference is, Grosso grew up and realized how meaningless these things really are in the long run, Duane unfortunately still has not and assumedly never will at this point...

there's a pretty legendary photo of Mark Gonzales, Natas, Steve Rocco, and Rodney Mullen all sitting together lurking at one of the Oceanside contests, way back when, that i can not find--i think it was a "subscribe" page in Thrasher. either way, i think all of those pillars would say that they were equally feeding off of each other. i know i have read that Mark Gonzales credits Rodney with inspiring them to start flipping the board on street boards, whether Mullen was doing things slowly or stationary or not...and i agree about a Gonz documentary, which would inevitably involve talking to all of the above...

it doesn't have to be either or...
There is no Gonz without Rodney. There is no Natas without Rodney. Arguably skateboarding wouldn't exist in its current state without the foundation of Rodney and his tinkering. Of course, those guys saw that and ran with it. the answer is nuanced. even your comment that Gonz "invented modern street skating" is literally stupid. that's like saying George Washington created the United States. there are so many influential people and figures that informed so much of what he did that he himself alone can't be the sole proprietor of "modern street skating" and he would be the first to admit that. Is he the most beloved? maybe. but its not black and white and it's not this guy or that guy.
-
Heres my perspective skating from 87 to 91 then 96/97 in the UK. Mullen was not cool, nobody was into his freestyle tricks and he had just some bit parts in the Bones vids. Over the years skaters have looked back and given him much more respect and rightly so. But was he influential st the time? No, I dont think so. Gonz, Natus et al were doing their own thing. Remember this was pre-internet when nobody knew who was doing what until a new vid came out. It was difficult to tell exactly what some of the tricks were in the mags.
Back then the pro skaters were all big innovative characters who fed of themselves. Its different now.
-
Funny story, one of my homies who’s getting back into skating and not at all in tune with skate media texted asked me if the line out in front of the skate shop at 8:00 on a Sunday morning were waiting for the tony hawk documentary. It was the Oski dunk release, but it was pretty funny

His teeth are fixed but yeah it was kinda crazy that some dude with multiple millions of dollars just had teeth rotting out of the front of his face. Is it the Bones Brigade doc where he’s clearly shot from the top down and in shadow to conceal the decay? I know I’ve seen it somewhere.
I grew up on the Powell videos and I was 11 when “Questionable” was released, so I was along for the whole ride. The world was a different place then, and there was less of a hive-mind consensus than there is now, but my friends and I all loved Rodney and enjoyed seeing him transform from freestyler into street skater. The tricks he created and his parts in those nearly every video he's ever made have been absolutely groundbreaking and anyone who says otherwise is just engaging in contrarianism.
That said, he seems high on his own supply. The way he talks about skating I find to be frankly annoying and alienating, which is probably why so many people reject the “Mullen” narrative of skate development.

They are also the generation who really pushed the sport into the shape it has taken now. Skateboarding was always dangerous, but obviously it got a lot more so once skaters stopped early grabbing 3” above the coping and started spinning around wildly.

Remember this was pre-internet when nobody knew who was doing what until a new vid came out. It was difficult to tell exactly what some of the tricks were in the mags.
Back then the pro skaters were all big innovative characters who fed of themselves. Its different now.
He was super influential to the people that mattered. All the skaters that saw him do it in person realized how far ahead he was. People like Tony Gonz and Natas were literally taking his moves to the street and ramp. You couldnt really see Rodney's tricks in the magazine. We were wowed by his video parts, but it wasnt something we would try to do mainly because our boards were different (fat fish tailed boards vs his thin 2x4 shape.) If the street or ramp pros could do it, we would try to do it. But taking kickflips or impossibles was way to hard for us at the time.

But he was a freestyler……

When lance said we’re grandpas flying through the air, that really struck me

I didn’t hear it personally, but we have the first generation of pro skaters now approaching the age where we might see it manifesting. That was what Grosso speculated happened to Duane, why he went so far off the deep end.
He's definitely got something going on. He says some pretty bigoted shit, but its also hard to take his "beliefs" seriously because the more you watch him talk, the less sense he makes. Like, he's borderline incoherent.
Why are people so eager to take agency away Duane Peters' behavior? ? CTE? Something going on? If history means anything, the only thing Duane has going on is that he is a horrible, awful human being. A young John Cardiel tries to be friendly to him and he spits blood in his face. He's terrorized not just Tony but also Mike V when they were wiry kids and Duane, 8 years their senior, was a grown adult. Tony' HBO documentary only reinforces the fact that Duane was and has always been a colossal fuckhead with no assistance necessary from brain damage. And nowadays he uses his dwindling fame to spread messages of bigotry and xenophobia on social media. That’s just what you'd expect. He's always been a toxic cesspool.

For the record, Rodney acknowledges that others were doing flat ground ollies before him. He only claims to have developed the modern method of leveling the board, at its apogee, that has become standard. I know this because he likes to talk about his achievements and run ads reminding us of his influence.
-
my favorite skaters of all time are the GONZ and NATAS to me they are like Goku and Vegeta you just cant fuck with the classics
Compared to Hawk their swag was super saiyan yo

Watched the first ten minutes and started tearing up.
It's great to think what a wide audience this could have.
Re: the Mullen talk above: maybe I was in a different universe but Mullen was as loved and respected as Gonz, Natas, Hawk where I was from. And once Klein focused his board it was on another level.

I’m talking about Duane Peters, today. Have you seen/read his ramblings? They make absolutely zero sense, like man yelling at mailbox on the street makes no sense. Being an asshole and being an asshole that is losing touch with reality aren’t mutually exclusive.

maybe if it ends up on Netflix, but only to hear Blender's and Lance's stories/perspectives...never gave a fuck about Hawk in the 80s and he's only consistently gotten cornier since--perhaps a generational thing, but i never thought skateboarding needed an "ambassador" to mainstream consumer culture and i've never liked tricks that involve spinning really...i love that i read above that Blender says he never even tried a 540...of course he didn't.
in re Duane's insensitivity towards Frank Hawk's death and the suggestions that the documentary needed Grosso, i would say Grosso hated Frank Hawk (i.e. the NSA) as much as--if not more than--anyone back then
difference is, Grosso grew up and realized how meaningless these things really are in the long run, Duane unfortunately still has not and assumedly never will at this point...
not that i'm stanning for duane peters but posts like this are why people should stop critiquing things that they obviously (even admittedly) didn't watch
huh?
Duane had some semi redeemable quotes where he semi alluded to regretting being such a dickhead. They were in the documentary we’re talking about that you didn’t watch, that’s what he’s saying to you.
also spinning is one of the sickest parts of skating
-
Watching a man who is half a century old repeatedly crash on 900 attempts stands alone in what people are doing.
Tom Brady might be the only other athlete who could be mentioned in the same breath as Hawk (I'm a Jets fan saying that).
Human athletic ability chart looks like this:
Tony Hawk > Everyone who has ever played in the NBA since the beginning of time
-
Finished it. I thought Rodney comes off fine. Feel bad for Lance - doesn’t seem like he could ever accept how much people love and admire him because he still thinks he has to prove himself. Stacey makes a great point about McGill having the healthiest relationship to skateboarding out of that group.
Cab comes off like a tool saying basically that if you don’t take crazy risks you’ll end up a nobody. Fuck you Cab not everyone has your skills, some of us accept that we’re just ok skaters who have to work regular jobs. I’m glad they included Duane only because of the story he tells about Tony talking to him about Duane losing his son.

i don't doubt that Duane had "semi redeemable" moments where he "semi alluded" to feelings such as regret...he doesn't seem to be an especially opaque human at this point
and they're--without a doubt--incredible athletic feats, but 720s and 900s are all gross to watch and i couldn't give a fuck--give me McGill's "McEgg" (i think that's what this craze is called) over all of that spinning any day

How come every Tony hawk thing uses the same songs?

I think if this Hawk Doc had preceded all the other skate docs of the last couple of decades it would be pretty remarkable but these things get pretty formulaic and that take away from a pretty compelling story here. I also think they missed a great opportunity when they were so vague with why Tony "checked myself in somewhere." Where? For what? I do think Duane did redeem himself a bit and Tony's response to Duane over the years has been pretty noble. The slams were brutal though. I know he's obviously slammed a tonne over the years but I never realized how much abuse he was willing to take. The focus and determination visible on his face during the 900 session was pretty special. Something about Hawk feels disingenuous though, as if he's spent so much time in the limelight he's never revealed who he really is and although the doc is supposed to reconcile that... I don't know... I still feel he's continuing to construct an artificial persona.

Watched this last night and I thought it was great, especially when comparing to many other skateboard/skateboarder documentaries.
I think there are many things it did right, like focusing on the skateboarding, e.g. in the second half there could've been spent on focusing on his superstardom where Hollywood whatshisnames praise his talent and influence, but instead the doc focused on Tony's personal shortcomings, his drive for skateboarding and his peers. Maybe the last half could've have had more on how his emotional issues affected his life and relationships, but then again the whole documentary was about that, so I don't think it was necessary.
All the talking heads were great, especially Lance and Neil. The soundtrack was fitting and all the archival footage was awesome (of course if you know skate history, you'll have seen most of it before).
The documentary shows how brutal beatings Tony has endured and tries to shine light why he (and many of his peers) continue to do what he does, despite the fact it really is "stupid" and unfathomable to any non-skateboarder. But I think any skateboarder can relate to it and know how it's unique compared to pretty much any other sport/hobby.
In Tony's case, it's really interesting as he has already achieved everything: fame, money and respect of peers. But he's still out there trying to push his and skateboarding's limits when he could've just stood back and reap the fruits of his labor and live comfortably.

Great watch, 4/5 stars.
Heavy that his mom thought about aborting him. Imagine a world with no birdman.
I'm not surprised that they skimmed over the early birdhouse era, but we should have heard from Welinder and Klein. In fact, you could say that without Jeremy Klein encouraging Tony to stick to vert we wouldn't have the Hawk we have.
The Duane stuff is what it is, cuz he still is what he was, but also it was what it was.
The Gorilla suit slam is torture porn.
The Chin Ramp 2.0 slam is super disturbing. He did not look okay after that. Peralta is basically saying he should stop skateboarding. He must own a set of golf clubs.
Someone that old being that good and taking those risks is beyond human. Birdman indeed, ruler.
-
Powell sucks, no company has held back as many riders ever. So glad all those guys started their own shit. Can u imagine no world, birdhouse or firm and all those guys stuck at powell with their stupid skull graphics and being told their not pro anymore. Fuck powell

Was good. Watched that cess slide fakie BS Smith to fakie in the credits like 10x. Never seen that before, and he did it so well.

I enjoyed it. Watched it in one go, which is rare for me, usually view films in chunks, but it flows well.
All the best documentaries that cross over aren't really about the subject, and I guess this is about obsessive behaviour.
And Duane "flippy do-dah-day bullshit" Peters comes across as more nuanced than his recent social media diatribes would suggest.

Like they held back Cab and told him he wasn’t pro anymore?

well made Doc. i cried. Lance and Tony are dogs
-
I watched this and enjoyed it. Probably the most real representation of Tony since his section in Destroying America. Wish they would have gotten a lil deeper into his rehab shit, but I could see why they left it out. Riley lookin like Kurt. Duane being Duane, slightly remorseful--but forever an old man yelling at a cloud.
Stacy Peralta fucking sucks.
Gonz>Mullen, but Mullen deserves respect, freestyler or not.
Anyways it's breakfast time, gonna cook some Mceggs

My wife’s trajectory as someone who has never seen or heard of Rodney Mullen before:
First time he shows up on screen: “oh man, I love this guy, he seems nice and cool”
After two hours: “oh my god, shut the fuck up, i fucking hate this guy!”
-
Hows the eyebrows situation?

I remember going to see the Bones Brigade doc with a girlfriend and after it was over she was like “that Rodney Mullen is obviously autistic”, and then a lightbulb went on in my head.

My guess is that all the Duane stuff was recorded before he started believing that Hawk is a transgender imposter sent by the deep state or whatever he thinks now.

is it weird that I liked Duane in this
