Not often you get to watch someone spontaneously fuck up the lives of everyone around them in about 6 seconds.
Was this justified homicide as the dude’s lawyers are claiming? I’m no expert but it didn’t look justified at all. What the fuck was this guy thinking?
-
What a nightmare for those kids.
-
Absolute nightmare for those children.
I also don’t believe that you can claim self-defense in a situation that you escalated.
-
It's fucked how dude just kills someone no hesitation, and no one is really flipping out. Ended someone's life over an argument. And Texas is one of the states with fucked laws basically giving an excuse for gun nuts to shoot anyone they don't like, under the guise of self defense. It's fucking crazy in the US.

Tell that to that little shit Kyle Rittenhouse. This guy will get away with it. Austin is cool, I just wish it didn't have to be surrounded by Texas.

Your country is weird, bro...

Yeah, the Rittenhouse case got off on just that. Even if you escalate a situation, you can use deadly force if you think that the other party will fuck you up or kill you. Which is kinda convenient, no?
-
Ugh. What a mess. Nutso behavior all around. I feel sorry for the kids mostly. Considering this is in Texas, the shooter will probably get of. Once the gun was introduced to the situation, it's all bad.
-
It’s like he got swept away with emotion and the logical part of his brain that remembers that actions have consequences was just short circuited for like 45 seconds. How surreal must it have been for him as he realized what he just did.
-
Wow, it's kind of disturbing how calm they all are after watching someone get murdered

Can any of you gun aficionados tell me why the gunshots sound so subdued, almost like an air rifle? Does that gun have, like, a silencer or some other sort of supression attachment on it?

His gun looks weird as fuck. I can't tell what he's using

He’s using a 22

God damn. That sucks. Poor kids. The shooter is the step father? Wow. If my new step father shot my actual dad dead I think I’d probably be out for revenge.

Fucked up.

There’s going to be some awkward ass holiday get-togethers at the very least.

Tell that to George Zimmermann

I despise losers who rely on the threat of their guns during confrontations. They're usually just itching to
be able to shoot someone. They act like tough guys and then, after they shoot you, they turn on the wetworks to the authorities. But they generally get of scott free, especially in red states.
Let's be serious though, the main problem here is that they're on this Kyle guy's property. In Texas. With Chad staying after he's told to leave, raising his voice, daring Kyle to shoot him and informing him that he's going to take the gun away (even grabbing for it), I just don't see how this is going to be deemed anything other than a justifiable homicide.
Maybe the prosecution can argue that when Kyle walked away from the house and aimed the gun at Chad, he was trapping him or something, but I doubt he'll even get charged.

Lucky there was a good guy with a gun.

the woman filming (the new wife of the deceased) said that she didn't freak out, because she thought that that gun was not real, since it made such pathetic sounds. Hopefully, the steady filming proves to be helpful in convicting that coward
In a civilized country, the house-owner would retreat, lock the doors and call the police.
-
I can’t see this homicide as being anything but self defense.
If you pull a gun on someone on your property and they attempt to take the gun away you have to assume they will use the gun on you.
Who in their right mind goes after someone with a gun drawn on them?

the funny thing is a lot of 2nd amendment/ guns rights activists will tell you that you should not put yourself in a situation where you have to shoot someone. That you should only use it as a last line of defense
Also even if it was an airsoft gun, id still back the fuck off, dude was crazy to even try disarm him

Damn you're right.
Yeah definitely don't try and disarm someone with a gun unless you have any other option. This situation is fucked up but he's definitely gonna get off

I was curious where my state would stand in this matter. Definitely don’t kill someone outside your house in NJ.

If I understand correctly my state actually has it figured out. For example..Don't go shooting someone on your front lawn who's acting like an asshole..but if they try to come in the house and want to hurt you..BuckBuck.

Did you read the article? It's kind of convoluted with ads, but if you do, it gets even crazier. The guy that fired the shots was cheating on his current wife, with the mother of the kids. The wife that he was cheating on is a district court judge...
-
of course their names are chad and kyle
-
By looking at the video alone, I instinctively thought the dude was plainly in the wrong for shooting him. It’s weird that the public could support a law that would allow for everything that guy did in the video to be perfectly legal.

I thought that guy’s current wife was the mother of the kids? The brunette lady in the video. Or am I fucked up?
-
Yeah, no matter what you think about guns and gun rights, this wouldn't have happened if the deceased backed off and didn't try to engage a man with a gun, on his property. In the eyes of the law, that should be enough to turn this into a self defense verdict. Ethically, none of this was good whatsoever.
-
The gun looked weird so maybe he was thinking “oh now what you’re going to shoot me with your paintball gun” and that’s why he tried to take the gun away like no big
-
Somehow, I doubt that. I think he was just belligerent.

Haven't watched the video. Not going to. Shit fucks me up nowadays.
But I know sometimes cell phone camera audio gets over loaded by close gun shots and distorts it
