since NB hype keeps going up and up i think numeric will get more popular
dunk hype will not go away, as long as the releases are limited resellers are guaranteed to make a profit, they will always be hard to get. i would love if dunk hype went away though, i don’t even like dunks but i keep entering raffle after raffle and not winning anything.

That's my current setup I'd be very happy if it became the norm and they made thinner boards with bigger tails and longer wheelbase. Truck width is so over rated. Unless you're bombing crazy hills or skating vert a couple extra mm won't make much difference

Been watching this video a lot lately and think females are just on the cusp of being there but maybe not next year. General rail size = pretty much yes. General tricks =yeah getting there. The same tricks on the same size rails = not just yet. By 2024-25 I think they'll pretty much have it only prob is best female rail/tech skaters are mostly contest based. And obviously(before anyone complains) rail skating isn't the only thing that matters, just it's the main element of dying to live. (Also soz for getting a bit autistic with what was probably a light general comment)

99% sure they do. I've tried pairs that range from Tom penny thru hank Hill until being basically 511s (whatever character that is maybe classic Clint Eastwood) I get the same thing with Dickies 874s too tho.

If you buy Levi’s online they’re made somewhere else compared to the Levi’s stores. The stuff at the store is very consistent and made better. You can visibly see the difference comparing the 2 actually. Even then sometimes you can take a the pairs of a size out of the stack and some will be bigger or smaller. Just what happens with mass production but solved with a bit of sorting. A store employee kindly walked me through this once.

Also, they do periodically change the cut of 501/505s for seemingly no reason, and if you want a roomier 501 the '93 Straight is my preference. I have somewhat burly legs and once broken in they fit like a pair of pants that aren't too snug or too loose anywhere, they just kind of go with the line of your leg and it looks like absolute classic straight leg jeans shit.
Still probably never going to quit skating in Carhartt double front workpants though.

levi's quality control is all over the place and so is their manufacturing. like literally all over the place in terms of having factories in like 15 different countries. go to your favorite local department store and try on 10 pairs of the "same" cut/size/color-- they will all fit differently. and yeah, they change from season to season as well.

Back to the Levi's talk - I've been on a 505 kick for the last few years, but just bought a few more pairs back in like October including a green canvas feeling pair. I've been pretty much solely wearing them when skating lately aside from maybe dickies here and there. Also as said before 505s and 501s are the same fit only difference is a zipper fly.
I buy them a size or two bigger than I'd usually buy and they're perfect, but I've been eating pretty good lately so I guess I'm wearing close to my regular size now. Great fit though. Not too baggy, not too slim. Very normal looking pants so I don't feel ridiculous.

Also used to do a ton of running and have family that still does and is part of the scene or whatever you'd call it. Running is really not that good for you. Sure you get some cardio but our bodies weren't really designed for it. You see all the runners talking about their constant injuries/problems and looking ten times worse than Reynolds after wallenburg or whatever after just their weekend run. Cycling would probably be way better if one can avoid the taint damage. (Or is the cycling cancer relation just a myth?)

I used to run competitively, and one of my good buddies also ran and skated. After a few years we both couldn't handle the knee stress anymore. Both of us gave up running when we got to college in favor of skating. Super tough to do both.
I don’t know about running, but it’s clear that a few big time pros in SoCal have got heavily into cycling. Balanced with skating, it’s probably better on the knees and ankles than running.
I can get behind cycling as a form of activity/exercise, but please... do not go full spandex with all the bike brand logos and such! I get it... they're dressed like that to reduce drag, but if you're not cycling at the competitive level, it really doesn't amount to much and those guys look ridiculous! Geez... 35+ year olds with pear bottoms and puddin' bellies! WTF guys... just throw on a light Tee and athletic shorts and enjoy your bike ride.

It’s not to reduce drag. The padding in your shorts prevents chafing and sores on your pelvis. Those fucking suuuuuck. A Jersey helps with overheating. You’re never going to look cool and it’s far more comfortable. No more ridiculous than wearing the current on trend pants.

Still seems to be popping where I am. One thing I will say is that, in my area, the rollerskating trend seems to have taken the wind out of the sails of a lot of the women's and girl's skateboarding that was happening a year or two ago.

About 10 years ago, there was a fully blown skateboarding monk who would be spotted regularly at parks around the city I live in.
He lived in a monastery about an hour out of town and would come to the city to skate - in his full length robe, which would sometimes get tangled around his shoes and shit.
He was a British guy, mid 30s, really nice dude and actually ripped. He had good three flips and pressure flips.
One time, my friend did a neat trick and the monk dude was so impressed, he gave him some kind of little religious medallion.
Couldn't find it just now, but the local newspaper wrote a story about him at the time.
Story goes that in his younger days, he was a sponsored skater in the UK. Then he found God and the rest is history.
I hope he's still skating.

The green boards from Yeah Right will make a comeback but with a twist. Only the trucks and wheels will be green so they can easily be keyed out in post production. All future skate videos/clips will look like hover board videos to fool the non skating public.

I never see a board bigger than 8.25 out anywhere, not at spots, barely any on the wall at Labor here, or in any of the drops "cool" companies I'd like to skate put out. Feel like boards have been shrinking for the last five years. Watching new videos you'd think the only options were 8 inch popsicles or huge throwback fishtails, with no inbetween. People are scared but you can skate an 8.5 with 8 inch trucks (or even smaller) and get the benefits of both worlds. Boards lighter and wants to flip faster but has a bit more room to land on.

No idea where you’re seeing that other than aging slap guys who need to lighten their load. 8.25 - 8.5 is still by far the most common range.
Pros who were on 8s bumped it up to 8.25 (Suciu, Ribeiro, P Rod, Malto)
Plenty of tech street guys rocking 8.5 these days. (Dilo, Knox, Max Palmer)

Both Ishod and Reynolds ride 8" trucks on wider boards. It makes everything easier.
Also you can go to the shop and pick out any deck from 8 to 8.5 based on graphic, concave, wheelbase, or anything else other than the deck width. So many options...

Etnies has currently the best lineup from Sole Tech for me which is crazy. I was always a Emerica & éS guy but right now I feel like both are kinda fucking up while Etnies has some cool shoes out. I think I bought my first pair of Etnies last year.

Ever since @TwisT postee those mid windrows I’m a normal colorway I been keeping my eye out for them to cut the E off and wear. Which got me looking at the etnies site. Joslin vulc looks good too and some others. I had some of their cup slips and they was nice the Michelin sole never went bald for me but I ruined them by working in them

in 2005 DC comics (warner media) decided they were gonna sue DC shoes for their "DC" mark. In doing so they discovered they actually had never claimed the mark but DC shoes did. They now regularly cut a check to DC shoes.

I see lots of etnies shoes lately. Not only in the professional contest scene, also at the skateparks I go to.
Never have etnies been really popular where I live. Nowadays almost every third skater at the park is wearing etnies shoes.
