COVID makes this topic a bit harder, but I figure it'd be fun to see what shows you all have booked this year
Wife is pregnant so things may change, but so far we are planning to see
Beach House @ the Greek in April
Clairo @ the Greek in April
How about you guys?
-
Circle Jerks and 7 Seconds
Turnstile and Ceremony
Possibly Gary Numan
-
GIRL TALK in April, San Diego. Cant wait :P ;D
-
Antagonist AD at one of my favourite venues in Sydney.
Having said that, Australia is pretty fucked right now with covid, so it will probably be moved… again.
Super jealous of anyone seeing Turnstile! I regrettably didn’t go see them when I had the chance to about 2 years ago. Still haunts me.
-
Turnstile twice with Citizen when they’re here in the Bay is what I’m looking forward too. Seeing cobra man, cattle decapation, Haim, few others too around here. Tickets weren’t expensive for any of these shows either which was great.
-
Havent been to a hardcore / punk show in a while. How is it with COVID in the mix? Must be a different vibe

Some people still do their thing up front but a lot of us usually just hang in the back double masked up.

I would really like to see Cattle Decapitation, they were my go-to in early pandemic. I guess I have a bunch of tickets for shows some time next autumn since they were all pushed back. Also a SKYND show in a few weeks but I expect that to be pushed back as well.

-
^jealous. been bumping a ton of blood incantation lately
Initially was so stoked when I saw they were releasing a new album next month but then I when I read into it they made it sound like it was just 2 or 3 'ash-ra temple-sounding' 20 minute ambient pieces :( could still be cool but I want some more dm

Yeah Godspeed! in April will be my first show in over 2 years
Should be epic
-
Just added Amyl and the Sniffers to my list. Shaping up to be a good year so far. Now fingers crossed Outbreak somehow manage up replace ETID with Gulch. This would make up for Faith no more at Brixton academy being cancelled again.
-
that's a blessing cuz faith no more blows^ ;D

Nah they’re an important band from my childhood especially The real thing album.
-
think I'm gonna try getting tickets for one of those Jawbreaker shows coming up
-
Pallbearer in September
Wolves in the Throne Room in October
Bell Witch in October
Aside from a little local punk show I saw the last 2 shows I saw in 2020 (maybe 2019, who knows?!?) were GYBE and Knocked Loose. I miss seeing live music a lot.
Wanted to see Turnstile but slept on tickets and all the shows are in the next 2 weeks so I fucked up.
-
Went and saw Jeff Rosenstock with Slaughter Beach, Dog a couple weeks back. I'd say shows during Covid vary venue to venue and band to band. Jeff's pretty outspoken about masking up and such so the entirety of the show everyone kept their masks. It wasn't so bad, HIGHLY recommend wearing the most comfortable thing you have.
I've seen some acts recorded online that clearly have peeps going full Covid-1999 and not giving a shit. I'm getting tickets to see Car Seat Headrest and NOFX/Lagwagon pretty soon here at BigSurf.
-
Seeing Dinosaur Jr, Soft Kill and 7 Seconds/Circle Jerks over the next couple of months.
-
When you see Soft Kill, talk shit to the guitarist. He's one of my old coworkers. Maybe yell "Conrad is less that adequate."
-
I missed obituary cuz it snowed like 5 inches. I’m hurt
-
Ween in July!
-

Shannon and The Clams

-
Caught two of my favorite bands a night apart in Denver. Dinosaur Jr and Drive By truckers.
-
Bought tickets to Deftones in June today... I figured, "why not?"
Deftones in June should be Stephen Carpenters 8-string acoustic guitar folk band.
-
Defeated Sanity and Nephrectomy in March.
I can’t wait to crowdkill some fools.
-
Not upcoming, but I saw Machine Girl, along with Wacko, 1800pain, and Johnascus, last month. Very fun ;D
-
Scott H. Birham in March and Neko Case in June.
-
Immolation w/ mortiferum
Riff raff cuz it’s $15
Not upcoming, but I saw Machine Girl, along with Wacko, 1800pain, and Johnascus, last month. Very fun ;D
I went to a machine girl show back in 2018 and they gave me a free shirt cuz they pretty much performed like 2 songs sitting on my shoulders.

Saw 100 gecs recently.
How was this? I don't really like or listen to their music but I enjoy their vibe and I imagine the show is either super fun and insane or somewhat underwhelming.

It was chill. Tbh, they played a bunch of unreleased songs so I'll admit it was difficult to vibe. I was also avoiding the pits cause of rona. Highlight of the event was probably getting a burrito from a food stand, the sightseeing, and turning up to mememe.

hmmm... I watched some videos of their live show online. Looks a little.... eh. I hoped it would be more like Dan Deacon with a bit more stagecraft and maybe even the use of some live instruments or at least they'd have a crew going wild on stage or something. But instead it's more like when Salem tried to play live shows which is a band I love, but seeing them live was not great, haha. And yes, I realize that these references are dating me horribly.
I bought tickets to see Sigur Ros instead, who I have seen live, and it made me cry.

-
Seeing Bright Eyes for the 3rd time this year tomorrow night!
I just saw them for the first time last week. It was a much better show than I thought it would be. There was at least ten people on the stage, and they even had a guy on trombone. I'm glad they played a mix of their whole catalog because I don't like the newer material as much.

Just saw Mndsgn this weekend and it was really good. The backing band and all was tight, and the sound was top notch at the magic bag in Ferndale MI. I highly recommend it if he's on his way to your neck of the woods (and you're into his new stuff of course).

Heading to Minneapolis in a few weeks to see:
Dinsoaur Jr.
Lamb of God w/ Baroness (not the biggest lamb of god fan, but I dug them in high school)
Blood Incantation w/ Vermin Womb
and on the final night Converge w/ Meshuggah
All in the span of 5 days. I'll probably be sick of live music by the end of it.

Went to the one in Denver. Is full of hell’s vocalist playing a breathalyzer? Did BI play vitrification of blood 1 & 2?
Also how much did you pay for mercyful fate? I’m about to drop like $60. I might get to see naplam death this year too!
-
Turnstile and Jpegmafia. I think Snail Mail is there too. I hope peggy spits on me
-
I have a feeling that hardcore and buttrock are about to fuse and become very popular radio songs. Demi Lovato’s FAVORITE band lol. My mum said she listens to them on her morning run.
-
the mall alternative youths and their 30’s counterparts also loved them at the MCR show.
gonna be at furnace fest this weekend and desert days the next if anyone’s around. also drug church gig in okc and ceremony at kilby in salt lake
-
Just saw Pavement on Tuesday and seeing Dinosaur Jr tomorrow night
-
Just got tickets for Viagra Boys in Paris. Clutch is playing the same venue the night before temped to make a weekend out of it.
-
had a very metal focused week lmao
wednesday I saw iron maiden on a whim. bought a ticket last minute for $50 and snuck down to the floor. such an epic and ridiculous show. my 13 year old self was stoked
yesterday saw blood incantation with full of hell, mortuous, and vermin womb. BI was insanely great live, I will go to see them every chance I get now. Mortuous was also sick. vermin womb I could take or leave tbh
-
Got to see Peter Hook (New Order/Joy Division) he played the entire Joy Division catalogue plus some new order. Damn he puts on a helluva show…
Tonight seeing Echo and the Bunnymen
November Napalm Death, Brujeria, and Frozen Soul. Trying to prepare for that one..

-
I'm playing a show in Worcester soon. Once flyers done I'll post. Try to get video
-
Saw Russian Circles play at the Regent in LA last night.
That was one of the best shows I’ve seen in a really long time, and the sound is awesome there too.
So fucking heavy. And I found it amusing that such a heavy band didn’t have any pits at their show.
Reminded me of some PC SxE HC shows in the 90s that didn’t “allow” pits.
An amazing show nonetheless.

If you're close to LA, this would be a must - Unwound, Codeine, The Hated, Karate, Ida, Chisel, Everyone Asked About You, Rex, Tsunami and Ui.
-
Wu-Tang and Nas, first show I've paid a high price for good tickets. I missed BI and Full of Hell unfortunately but still seeing Napalm Death when they come through, Cannibal Corpse with my neighbor, and that's it until Carcass and Obituary in December.
-

they were honestly great in NC. the sound was as close to “large club” as they could get it it felt like. a lot of people were getting up out of their seats for bangers and by the end everyone was standing. honestly MCR knows how to shrink those rooms pretty well. i’m not much of a fan and i really enjoyed the show. enjoy the seat, it’s nice to sit and watch music
-
Just saw Jeff Rosenstock open for Gaslight Anthem. He's my favorite and I've been seeing him for years, and it was pretty crazy seeing him play a huge venue from a balcony instead of punk club.
I was tired and left early after Jeff's set and it turned out that was probably a wise choice. Gaslight's setlist was mostly from their least popular records, and apparently Brian Fallon went on multiple drunken tangents about ex girlfriends and poutine and stuff. Don't feel like I missed much.
-
edit: think I mentioned it before but saw max and igor cavalera play the first two Sepultura albums last week. it was unreal, they seem like the coolest/nicest dudes too. sepultura's albums up to roots are just insane
seeing OM and zombi tonight

Saw IDLES a couple weeks back - incredible stage presence - you’re in for a treat.
-
Napalm Death and Brujeria tomorrow night!
-
Saw the Stampeders recently, Canadian heads might be familiar. Love that old dad rock type shit. My partner and I were about half the age of average attendee, and def felt a little weird. The band is all in their 70’s and played sitting down, but they can still sing and play pretty damn good.
-
Kurt Vile on Thursday.
-
Knocked Loose and Sunami in a week then Turnstile in two weeks!!
-
Knocked Loose and Sunami in a week then Turnstile in two weeks!!

I saw Indigo De Souza on the second consecutive night of sold out shows at this little venue in Hamden CT, just outside New Haven.
Aside from the crowd being a bunch of under 21 girls the show was amazing. To me Indigo is the modern flag bearer of the 90’s alt rock girl sound. Ridiculous (in the best way) operatic vocals, and just a young taken full of wisdom. It was a killer show.
-
Souls of Mischief next week.
The LL Cool J/Roots tour where they are brining special guests, Roots are playing every instrumental apparently (believed my city is getting Rakim, Jadakiss and Queen Latifah)
Ice Cube and Big Boi in late July.
-
Jeff Rosenstock for like the 10th time in November. I'm never not excited to see Jeff and the gang. Can't wait to lose my voice and shit.

candy and spy in a little more than two weeks. maybe code orange, soul glo and militarie gun the day before that. really only care about soul glo, so not sure yet.
there's also a jid concert a day before the soul glo thing, but i can't afford to go there, too.
and then later in the year codeine is going to play a show, and the night before my birthday high vis are playing and i might go there and have that as my pre-b-day party.

Saw the Cure a few weeks back, they played 29 songs; Prayers for Rain was the highlight of the night for me.
Drain at the end of the month.
High Vis in July.
I’m hoping Speed tours the west coast since they’ll be out here for Sound and Fury.

Friday night.

August 2nd, Dinosaur Jr and Red Fang in Minneapolis. Clutch is the headliner. I like Clutch and have seen them before, but if I'm beat from skating and not feeling it, I might dip out during their set. I've seen Dino twice already, I'm just going to be bummed when they call it quits.

next show will be built to spill in a couple of weeks.
looking forward to it.
-
Jeff Rosenstock for like the 10th time in November. I'm never not excited to see Jeff and the gang. Can't wait to lose my voice and shit.
Also seeing Jeff in September, a tradition I will never tire of. And a week before that I'll be seeing the Melvins for like the fifth or sixth time co-headlining with Boris.
Next weekend I'm also going to one of those NOFX farewell shows because this is probably my last chance to see The Decline live. Plus the Descendants and Suicide Machines are playing among others, so it's gonna be a gr8 time.
-
Just saw Yo La Tengo at one of New England’s best breweries. As always, they slayed it.
-
Going to see Don't Skate My Ramp tonight.
-
I'll attend
11/8 - The Starting Line, The Get Up Kids, All American Rejects and New Found Glory
16/8 - The Offspring and SUM41
20/8 - The Smashing Pumpkins
all of those in MidFlorida Amphitheater @ Tampa
Lmk if someone go
-
so i saw candy and spy tonight and it was awesome. very nice dudes in those bands as well. i almost got knocked out during candy, i caught a wild flying egghead to my face. nosebled all over my shirt lol, i think i kind of zombie walked my way into the merch area, then realizing i should probably get to the restrooms to get some paper to stop the nosebleed. not sure, might be a concussion, i really think i almost passed out on the spot, but someone held me up until i caught my breath again. got a proper headache.
also shoutouts to ear protection. i used to get mad tinnitus after shows, but since i bought actual good earbuds, no problem anymore.

Gunna see Open Mike Eagle w/ Andrew Jackson Jihad next month in Chicago. I was supposed to do this show last year but they all caught covid the day before the show so im glad theyre making another go of it.

Spectral voice’s last show is this month.
One of my favorite artists, mat brinkman, did a bunch of art for them, but I never really got into them. Maybe this is a sign that I should.

I’m gonna see ween at red rocks in august while visiting a friend in Denver and I’m v psyched. Never seen them live before

Spending 8 days on the east coast this fall. Planning to see Max and Iggor Cavalera(Sepultura) in Manhattan, Cannibal Corpse w/ Gorguts in Brooklyn. I didn't have anything for the 3 days I was going to be in Philly, until I saw Conway the Machine had a show booked. Live hip hop is usually underwhelming, but it's always dope seeing a show in a new city.
I'm also staying half a mile from a small jazz venue that has shit booked every night(usually jazz).
-
Just got hooked up with a guest list spot to Negative Approach tonight.
-
A this point I just wanna see live music in a venue again. Last show I went to was Knocked Loose in 2019. Unfortunately my girls still COVID shy so we haven't gone to one since. I envy all you people who have a show to look forward to, nothing worse than seeing upcoming tours that you're going to miss

A guy on my search and rescue team just gave me two ticks for Bryan Adams and Joan Jett next week.

Anyone planning on seeing Explosions in the Sky in Philly in a couple months?
-
Saw Idles again for the second time in 9 months.
Left the show feeling happier than I have in months, crowds singing in unison is a great feeling

Really wanted to see Slowdive in LA but it sold out significantly faster than I thought they would. Then the venue added a second date that I didn’t learn about until way too late.
-
Scored some tickets the other day to see Pain of Truth in December. Also, got put on the list for Willi Carlisle next month.

Pain of Truth is amazing! I missed out on getting the presale for when they’re here in the Bay Area but thankfully tickets will be sold at the door as well.
-
Just got out of She Wants Revenge first ever show in Melbourne. Wonderful time, even if some dude next to me was a huge bummer.
Debating if I buy tickets to Frank carter and the rattlesnakes

Seeing Tool next Friday. Wanted to surprise my girlfriend for our anniversary and figured it would be easier to ease her back into a show at an arena vs a packed hardcore show. She's been uneasy about COVID lately
