I’ve seen boards, cinder blocks, lumber….are there any sure fire ways that I’m missing?

I use the bodies of my vanquished. They're plentiful.
All kidding aside, I'm a "foot high kicker in my prius" kind of guy so I, too, am curious how others are utilizing grates.
Easiest way to pull them up.
What to look out for.
How not to get fingers crushed or pinched in the process.
Do tell

I think it was Rhino's but I saw Kalis use a one gallon bondo can. It was a block from my house and my friend knew him so we went to visit. Turn out to be a sunglass ad I want to say 2013
Wes was skating it with him and got some footage too

Crowbar / pull bar
Work gloves
Stack of 2x4's with carpet (nonslip) on top works great
I find it really depends on the spot how you prop the grate up

spare shoelace to thread through a little notch
pull like a mother
slide board underneath
