Title: Differences between Sony VX models and Sony DSR-PD170
Post by: Prostate Exam on March 08, 2022, 01:53:41 AM
Does anyone in here have any experience with the Sony DSR-PD170 and can compare it to any of the VX models in terms of footage-quality?
As far as I have found out during my research, it looks like the footage on the PD170 looks clearer than on the VX1000.

Also from an editors perspective, does it make sense to mix VX1000 and PD170 clips or are they too easy to differentiate?

I believe the PD170 is essentially a VX2100 w/ two XLR mic input jacks. Your footage will look like 2100 footage.

@uk/eu homies, just spotted a PD170 on ebay, £100 with no bids and ends in 24h. given the last vx2100 went for £370 on ebay UK could be worth keeping an eye on if you're in the market. missing the battery though.

If I hadn't already gotten a ton of camera shit recently I would be all over this.
