This is going to be good despite the name. I hope it's more than 10 minutes long

Impressively lame name.
So stoked to see this though.
I don’t really know who’s on the team besides mango, jalba, and dane, but it’s gotta be a good one.

I like the name of the video. I am pretty sure Pontus likes to joke around and that isn't like a god complex or something.
Fingers crossed for a 4 minutes Dane Brady part.

The name is bad, but not fussed on the name unless the video becomes one of my favourites.
A shoe brands video with the whole team hasn't hit for me for a while, so looking forward to that changing with this.

pontus' puppets?

anyone know what the AB stands for?
The name Last Resort cames from the founder Sami and his friend, before Pontus came into the picture. They had tried starting a few companies, and said that this was going to be their last try, the last resort. :)

As a diehard jesse guy id say Dane but yeah
-
I love the name.
But I also love Pontus as the ego maniac sex freak control freak superfreak character I have created of him in my mind and group chats with friends.
-
Just had a premiere, so spoilers ahead:
The video is 13 minutes long.
Starts with a Rios/Brady/Loreth shared part. Dane has maybe 3 tricks. Aaron skates all the spots you expect him to skate. Nick really kills it.
Ludwig and Billy Trick share a part. Ludwig skates mostly bank spots in Scandinavia and Billy does some real cool shit.
Jesse Alba pretty much has a part. He must have between 2-3 minutes of footage. His part ends with a montage of Paul Grund and David Stenstrom. Definitely the most satisfying Jesse Alba footage in forever.
Chris Milic has last part, a full part, and it's the best Chris Milic part in years. Mango fans will not be disappointed.
Honestly, the video feels a little disjointed. Music is a bit all over the place. It's definitely a Daniel Dent video with no noticeable artistic direction other than Daniel Dent Video. Nothing like a Polar video, Pontus didn't edit this for sure.
Mango & Jesse footage really is great to see. The rest was nice but nothing spectacular.

Rios basically has a part. The first section is mostly his.
All the Polar guys footage looks like it was filmed on one trip to LA/Ventura. They're definitely holding onto everything else for the Polar video.
I know Dane has been skating quite a bit... so hopes are high.

Didn't really feel the majority of the video, but that amazing last part made me follow Chris Milic on instagram.
Might also get his pro shoe
-
chris milic is my favorite handrail skater
-
Jalba getting towed in by a 90’s Ford F-150 for the pole wallie nose grab might be the one skate clip that represents all of my interests.
-
oily craig for soty
jalba does some real skating
billy off the roof to grind?
everyone killed it
-
Great promo! Mango has the best combination of skill and creativity, always stoked on him.
Too many good single clips to mention, but Jalbas noseslide to crooked looked awesome.
-
I wanna like Jalba but I'm having a hard time with his clips, it's just too low effort. A couple cool clips in his part, but just too many I or my friends could do on tiny non-spots. Just feels like he's trying to milk it and put in as little effort as possible because he's too cool to try.
Chris's part on the other hand was incredible. So many good tricks, a little ride-on grind heavy, but they were good ones. He's that perfect confluence of creativity and good skating, not gimmicky, just a good skater who can do unique tricks. Stoked to set up my Frog board I just got. Might just buy some Last Resorts too.
Edit to add: LOL at "Billy Trick" (if that is your real name) looking pissed at the little kid he almost decapitated for a fucking varial flip, what a kook. That shit is the worst trend in skateboarding. Kid is just walking down the sidewalk.

dangerous crango never ceases to amaze me
-
video should have just been mango's last two tricks, the rest was just the same thing over and over.
Ride on grind, wallride, dinky trick to manual, repeat
-
Loved it all around – especially Jalba and Mango. Right up my alley.
only thing that bugged me, was that not every part / skater had his own song. I am slowly getting used to skaters not be introduced at the beginning of their part, but two guys sharing a track confuses the hell out of me.
-

every crailtap video should be one clip of malto smiling into the camera

ruled! Not really sure the Jesse Alba hate, seems a little punching down... Chris killed it! So rad to see him and Ryan Lay be AZ boys on some of the most desirable brands at this point in their careers, wearing my last resorts now and hope to continue to do so!

Dude, relax. All he did was look back and shrug. He was probably just bummed on his friends who were supposed to be spotting. Maybe they tried to talk to the kid and he ran out anyways. Sometimes things happen.
Love the video. Dangerous crango part made my day

Mango is brilliant, deeply appreciate their skating.
Jalba had a few good tricks, but as someone else said, it’s basically homie level skating.
Really liked Billy Trick and the blonde dude with sun glasses.
First two tracks were abysmal, holy hell. If you want to use screamo (you shouldn’t) at least use something good: Shotmaker, Portraits of Past, Indian Summer, etc…those vox and riffs were fuckin beat, really took away from the video for me.
Millic’s track was great, part will get heavy replay.
-
mango deserves all the success in the world, so much fun to watch. those tricks on the chain are just bonkers :o :o
-

I liked all the slams edited in.
I especially liked this offering because it came from a skate shoe brand and not an athletic shoe brand.
Chris competing with rowan for my favorite part of the year.

agree with this sentiment haha, I saw some small ig edit that used the intro from Indian summer - angry son/woolworm and it was actually awesome. hard combo to pull off. some tongue in cheek i hate myself would've worked well IMO haha
overall, loved the video - the skating is right up my alley. so sick

Really enjoyable watch. Figured this was at high risk of coolguy bullshit but that was at a minimum. Mango’s best part IMO in years.
Will be rewatching for sure.

I dread the future of skate videos if this is the direction soundtracks go in.
-
Ender was one of the coolest tricks I’ve seen in a long time.
-
That was a really fun and enjoyable watch. Ludvig had some cool tricks but every one had nice stuff. Jesse Alba seems a bit lazy, low effort but I also liked his tricks.
10/10 will watch again.

-
Isn't there supposed to be a new Polar video soon? Brady should be in that.
not too many clips from polar riders was a bummer, but hyped to know that we’ll soon be seeing them in the polar video
-
Pontus does it again… video of the year for me. Mangos part is his best of all time and that’s saying something. this made me wanna go skate.
-
I don’t get the feeling that Pontus had much to do with this video. I just rewatched no comply, wall rides and shuvits and that video had a unique perspective. Maybe there are just too many 12 minute videos these days. I like it but no more than an FA video and I usually like Polar Videos the most. Also, I prefer less color with a more grainy look but that’s probably because I came of age during VHS and Hi8 videos.
-
Daaaamn that made me wanna go skate really bad. I actually dug J Albas footage and Milic is so damn creative, love it. Also did anyone think maybe Pontus named it after “Corey Feldman’s Angels” in a joking way?
-
Chris is brilliant and carried this I think. Nothing will top it’s a secret imo
But I’d love to be proven wrong - repeatedly in fact!
Also - some talk in previous posts of Chris Millick pro shoe - are there any pics?
-
I'd agree Chris mimic carried the whole vid. I can only even remember two tricks from the first half and ice watched it three times (pole jam to clown shoe landing, acid drop off a roof to grind a curb). It's my own problem but I really find skating to be even more forgettable when instead of an actual song it's just some kind of general noise for backing.
-
vid was pretty sick. mango killed it! shoe looks cool as well.
-
such a great video! idk why you guys keep complaining about jesse being a lazy skater or whatever because that's how he has skated his entire career, if anything he got much more buck in this video compared to previous ones
-
I agree, this was the most exciting footage from him in a long time.
@Mean salto I think you're on to something with regards to the music... songs with lyrics do make parts more memorable in my experience too.
-
If no names in the videos is just a thing we all have to accept, at least here they timestamped it.
-
Mango really is that quirked up white boy with a little bit of swag who busts it down sexual style
-
I guess I'm old and out of touch because that was almost unwatchable
-
It was kinda 50:50 for me...
Half of the clips seemed like guys goofing around, which is understandable if the Polar guys are stacking footy for their full length.
On the other hand, Ludvig, Grund and Mango killed it. Chris' part even had the right amount of "conventional" tricks sprinkled throughout that would remind you this is not a case of a kid doing semi-circus tricks cause he cant kill it otherwise.
Music was detrimental to the edit for me. Ok, its not my cup of tea, but it just didnt work in general. There's a lot of music I love that I'm aware wouldn't work in a skate video whatsoever. At least it was on trend with whats popping in the scene right now. Oh, yeah, and Mango's song - also not my trip, but it fit his part nicely.
-
Mango really is that quirked up white boy with a little bit of swag who busts it down sexual style
Spot on - I was having trouble describing it lol. Some of his hair/hat swag is next level - every clip not sure what to expect both trick and fit.
-
I can only assume that the music tracklist withholding is just sadism at this point. Which I basically support, but it’s just stuck in my head now and I need to know.

not sure what you're getting at here, how do any of those things you listed correlate with what I said? Is Mango this generation's Louie Barletta?
-
nick rios had some really sick clips, loved his big spin back tail, bank to smith, BIG wall rides and rolling up on the cop and the kook.
who does he get boards from?
ludvig also had some nice clips as well, the most i’ve been sold on his footy thus far.
the dave fakie pole jam was a standout, and i really enjoy albas clips.
then obviously there was the impeccable mango part. the final clip was so sick, pausing the clip then having him speed around the corner to those shitty strings or whatever they are, then him opening his mouth at the same time the vocalist does her shit. reminded me of krod screaming into his hands in his ender in dancing on thin ice
ps, love some skramz and various shoegaze endeavors, but those first two songs did not match the video too well. fine on their own, just not the vibe. did enjoy the others with the skating though
-
I like that Pontus gave full control to Daniel Dent, I wonder how much him working on the Polar video around the same time had a part in that. Must've been hard to give up that control, but my guess is he didn't want it to be to closely tied to being a Polar video with special guests from Frog. Good video, and one i'll be rewatching. Jesse Alba is a weird one for me, feel like he is capable of so much more, but at the same time maybe this is his level. Mango has been an entertaining skateboarder to watch for close to 15 years now.

He's on Polar, although I'm not sure I've seen an 'offical' ad or anything.

for whatever reason i see a lot of jason adams in his skating
But current generations don’t see him that way at all….it’s like they see him as Jake Johnson or something, a skater who did things a bit different, properly and can do no wrong…..they don’t see the novelty and I don’t think there is any….a good times skater though for sure…

Seems similar. Dude has just been having fun on his board his whole career and he's running a feel good company.

That Chris Milic section was so good, it almost made me want to buy a frog board.
-
this was an awesome video. I loved the music. Jesse is looking positively thicc and I still like his skating. Dangerous "Craig" Crango finds a way to blow minds every time, seriously love that dude.
As someone else said it is so amazing that all the AZ weirdos found their own little niche. Mango, Ostrowski, Pyramid Country, etc etc all in their own lane; beautiful shit.

I just came to show David Stenstrom some love. I really dug his style and footage in this vid. At times he looked like he should be ripping a launch ramp in 91, which is not a bad thing at all.

pretty petty reply imo. there's no diss against agah here. pretty sure this was also more of a body type comparison, not an ability/relevance comparison. agah is a legend, if anything it's a nice compliment towards alba. there is zero harm done to agah's legacy.

Really good. Don’t get the hate on the music at all, especially compared to most edits coming out these days.
I think people are expecting too much for a promo vid, I think it’s better than the first polar promo…
Hopefully this brand sticks around and keeps putting out videos

Is Mango this generation's Louie Barletta?
he's the homeschooled Mark Suciu
Beefed up Jesse Alba is skating real smooth, surprise of the video for me. Shades of Salman Agah even.
I know you didn’t just disrespect the OG switch god and 1993 Skater of the Year Salman Agah, who is rightfully sandwiched between Cardiel and Carrol in the annals of history, by comparing him to Steve Albas bloated flow level son, right?
they probably know each other

was inspired to rip today

Strobeck kicking himself for not thinking of this name
-
Skateboarding is almost perfect rn. I don’t understand how this happened. They are right in saying there’s only two generations left probably.
-
I think i’ve watched this like 7 or 8 times now. I love this video.

Hahahaha
Idk man, the new kids are pretty sick. I saw this like 4 year old girl 180 airing out the pool at my local. Pretty sick. I wonder what the scenes gonna be like in a few years, if shit doesn't get all psycho.
There's probably gonna be like all girl skate crews that are like as gnarly as the guys. Shits gonna be crazy.

Yes it is. It is.

Weren’t angels in the Old Testament way more metal? Like these terrifying, super powerful entities that our little brains could never hope to fully comprehend? Maybe he means it like that.

Someone helped out in the comments with Mango's song:
Pablo's Eye - A Duel

Jesse Alba been eating REAL good and Mango part was raging.
-
that ender tho!
Endive reminds me of cigaretteman which is not a band thing, probs a bonus I'm also on an emo trip atm
-
That has got to be one of the greatest names for a video in a long time ;D I'm pretty certain Pontus is able to laugh at himself!
Really liked it! Had a more summery vibe than Polar's videos, and Stenström's fakie polejam is one of the crazier tricks I have seen in a while!
-
as everyone has said, Mango part was incredible. after the high concentration of random ride-on grinds, curbs, and wallie spots in the rest of the video, it was actually really refreshing to see him skate some iconic LA spots you don't see much of anymore in a really unique way (ollie up the 2 to manual back 180 down Belmont 9, the stuff at LA high, whatever that jumpoff trick he did was on the rail of the set Rowley varial heeled in his opening line in Sorry, hurricane down that one rail Arto switch flip front boarded)
