Stoked to see someone change up for the best. Our idea of the criminal justice system, and overall our sense of justice is truly cruel. The system preys on a lot of the working class. The worst I've gotten was a misdemeanor or few, but it really gave a new perspective on policing and prisons as a whole.
Thanks to a few great leftist IG's and cliche enough, possibly ironic because of its platform, Vic Mensa's podcast on Spotify, Abolition X is a pretty good starter in the brutality of the system, and overall the patriarchy that really consumes our culture.
sorry, a bit buzzed but seeing you guys talk about the car jacking kind of got me going! I understand where you guys are coming from. Must have been super traumatic for those children! However, there is a better way to rehabilitate people than what we have in the States. <3

I'm definitely not agreeing with him being locked away forever. That definitely is not where I'm coming from. I do believe he had no idea kids were in the car, and drugs will make you do some horrible regretful things. It would be a different story had he directly intended and set out to abuse or actually abduct a child. I believe everyone deserves forgiveness on some level, and this comes from the journey of me having to learn how to forgive someone who did something very cruel to me when I was a child. While I do think there are certain cardinal sins that are unforgivable, I don't think that's the case here.
Then again, who am I to judge?
