Post by: lamfordie on August 01, 2022, 08:25:27 AM
Its that time of year again. Slap Pals Fantasy Football has started. Thank you all in advance for last years turn out. It was easily the best and funnest experience I had playing fantasy football here on Slap. If you played last year and still want to go for the championship than stay put. If you would like to leave and give your spot to someone else please let me know. I would like for the winner to get a local shop shirt from the other or if they want donate to a charity of the winners choice. Last place does need a good punishment so if anyone has any good ideas please let me know. May the best Pal win.

I was in a league where last place had to take a shot of ghost pepper (or was it Carolina reaper?) hot sauce.

Why not do weekly DFS instead of a traditional redraft? You can have a bigger player pool, it gives people a chance to learn and improve their strategy through the season, and you get a lot less people who lose their first 2 weeks and then give up. I don't even attempt full redraft leagues with more casual fantasy players anymore.

If there's room I'll take a spot though.

No matter what happens in our draft, I’m not touching Christian McCaffrey with a 100 foot pole. Never forget when one of you crazy bastards started pretty much all Broncos players. If you are planning to do it again , hope you get Russell Wilson

Broncos WRs should be in high demand this year. Especially with Tim Patrick's targets up for grabs now.

I would take CMC with a mid-low first just because there's such a dearth of true bell cow backs these days and when he's healthy he's one of the most productive fantasy players ever. It's risky but once Taylor, Henry, and maybe Cook are off the board you're not going to find a back who's going to get more chances. I would definitely be targeting a handcuff or a guy like Rhamondre or Rojo who probably won't start but has a good chance to take a lead back role at some point in the season.

My trap pick last year was the poor man's CMC, Raheem Mostert. Dude is incredible when he plays but can't stay on the field. He won me a bunch of money a few years ago when he went off down the stretch so I probably overvalue him but ever since Willie Parker I've got a huge soft spot for pure speed backs. Mostert has been the fastest guy at Dolphins practice this week (faster than Tyreek or Waddle) and had the 2 highest ball carrier speeds in 2020 yet you never hear people bring him up when they talk about the fastest players. I think him and Tyreek are the only ones who've ever broken the 23mph mark.

Since this is the only spot where us football perverts are talking, whats your guys' take on the Watson/Browns disaster? Hopefully they hit him with the indefinite suspension because six games is absurd
Title: Re: Re: Slap Pals Fantasy Football 2022
Post by: WastedHippy on August 05, 2022, 04:21:04 PM
Yeah I thought 6 was ridiculous, I hope he’s out for the season. I know Baker had some bad games/horrible throws last year but I think the browns made a mistake letting him go (may eat my words on that one but we’ll see)
Title: Re: Slap Pals Fantasy Football 2022
Post by: doomstation55 on August 05, 2022, 04:29:24 PM
Watson is a piece of shit, and it’s amazing the arbitration only gave him 6 games. It does sound like the NFL will appea and give him more tho…

Which they absolutely should, and the Browns are awful for mortgaging all those picks and $250M guaranteed on this asshole.

I always rooted for the Browns as underdogs and it’s been a nice few years for them, now I’ll throw them in the trash next to the Packers (but that’s for my own homer reasons they’re not as bad as the Browns)

first year of his contract is only for 1 million or so… he knew damn well a suspension was coming down for his degeneracy. Slimy.

I hope baker puts up career numbers week 1

Gross they wanted Watson. Was hoping this ordeal went more the Ray Rice route. Cut by team, suspended for 1 year then no team signs. End of career. Houston could have made a huge statement by cutting him

I’m not even sure a Watson-style dual threat would be as effective nowadays anyway. DC’s have them figured out now.

Dual threats tend to be very scheme-dependent. It’s why Kaepernick was terrible after Greg Roman was out in SF. Greg Roman is in Baltimore now making Lamar look somewhat decent.

To be fair, despite the rushing TDs Watson is far from a true dual threat qb. He's very much a classic big guy pocket passer under ideal circumstances but he's been playing from behind against soft coverage for half his career which has allowed him to kind of pad his rushing stats. He's not afraid to tuck it for an easy first when the secondary drops off 30 yards, but I can't think of many designed runs he's called. I see him as a lot closer to Dak than Lamar or Kyler. Actually "Evil Dak" is probably pretty accurate hahaha.

I also think that while he's likely to be a top 10 fantasy qb he's probably a little overrated for actual football purposes. Hes the king of garbage time so on paper things look a little rosier than they really were and I say that as a guy who's started him every week he's played since 2017. There were so many times he'd be on like 8pts heading into the 4th and then put up 200 yds and 2 tds after the other team put in their backups.

She’s basically a shorter Cam.

That Cleveland scheme does not fit his skill sets at all. They’re a ground a pound team. Cleveland is to QB’s what Chicago is to receivers.

Dual threats also tend to hit the wall faster. RG3 had an incredibly short prime. So did Marcus Mariota, even with him being a starter now.

Yahoo gave me a C and the lowest grade for this team

Mahomes
Henry
Chubb
Tyreek
Michael Thomas
Waller
David Montgomery
Miles Sanders
Melvin Gordon
Christian Kirk
Darrell Henderson
Mecole Hardman
Trey Burks

Yahoo also gave a B to the guy who took Josh Allen in the first round, George Pickens in the 9th and Skyy Moore in the 10th. I don't put a lot of stock in yahoo draft grades haha.

Doom, you’re a legend for drafting during a Phish concert. Really anxious & excited to see how my two rookie WRs perform this season. Positive analysis on both however you never know till game day

I drafted two teams simultaneously while sitting in Arthur Ashe Stadium watching Nick Kyrgios at the U.S. Open.

My roster could be much worse… i really wanted Dameon Pierce though. I think that kid is gonna be solid.

I’m in a 16-team league with Kenny Pickett and Milf Hunter as my QB’s.

Thank God for that IR spot. Grabbed Davis Mills. I think he’ll low key be a gunslinger on the field.

I won the first ever fantasy league I was in with Jake Delhomme and once won a league with Blake Bortles as my QB.

One game in and we’re already starting week one overreactions lol. Stafford had no time to throw and got sacked 7 times. The Bills D line with Von Miller looked scary too.

Remember Rodgers had like 3 int/0 tds on 150 yards last year in week 1 and he won mvp.

Between Dawson Knox and Akers I got 1 point. Starting the season strong when you already know you've lost by 11pm on Thursday night.

Took Akers with the second overall pick of my dynasty baby. Honestly there was no other rb with the same projected upside AND chance to start after Hall. Im not going to panic yet because it looked like the entire offense was a shit show and they were playing from behind most of it. I think McVay is paranoid about getting Akers injured again and wants to ease him back to some extent, but it looked like early on they were splitting series and he was on the field more even if he didn't get the ball. I actually see the fact they got their asses beat as a positive... I think that makes it more likely they give Akers a chance to be a difference maker in the next game or two because you need more than Kupp if you want to win.

All this being said, I drafted Henderson in every single league I took Akers in haha.

Also keeping an eye on Higbee who got 11 targets and dropped like 4 of them.

I'm trying really hard not to cut one of my bench WRs for Mostert.

Got Khalil Kerbert off the wire in my dynasty league. Pretty stoked about that since I'm rebuilding. I definitely overpaid for him (41 out of 200 FAB) but I always end up having like a hundo left at the end of the season.

Not sure what to do about Devonta Smith and Christian Watson. I don't know if either are worth sitting on if they're going to be the forgotten man in their offense. Might be further ahead to drop one and hope to re-add them at some point. There's some WRs that have big upside but are risky like Curtis Samuel, Duvernay, and Robbie Anderson. Also strongly considering swapping Thielen for a Jarvis Landry or Elijah Moore type if he doesn't start scoring soon.

I may very well grab Taysom Hill as my TE if Dawson Knox doesn't show up next game too. There's enough TE depth out there this year I'm not even sure Knox will get claimed if I cut him.

As for me did my WR suck. I knew I should've started Kirk and Thomas

Tyreek is killing me today.

Also idk how the Jags skunked the Colts

Happy tyreeks on my team here…

Not as much fun in another league where m up against him, Lamar Jackson and cooper  kupp. Currently down 181 to 65.

Also sorry if you watched the Bears stink it up on prime time glad the rest of our schedule is Sunday early slot.

People in my league kinda doubted me for dropping 41 of my 200 FAB budget on Khalil Herbert after week one.

Might end up being a bargain. Dude looks very, very legit. Montgomery has always been productive but struggled to be a difference maker, this kid might have a little more juice and he's definitely got some vision. If Montgomery misses a few weeks (it looked like a high ankle sprain to me) then I feel like this kid has to be one of the hottest waiver wire adds this week.

McNabb was the first time I got to see us in a Super Bowl. I liked him and didn’t think he should’ve been booed when we drafted him.

Then he deteriorated so bad we traded him within the division.

Then the Monday Night Massacre happened.

His rookie season with the Vikings I drafted him in the last round and he ended up being my most productive player. He was never a great route runner as a receiver but once the ball in his hands the dude was electric.  Always have a soft spot for him.

He's quietly been arguably the best backup in the league for a few years now. People like to big up Mattison and Pollard because they're flashy but Williams was always consistent and productive when he got the chance in GB. Detroit hasn't even really used him as a receiver which is something he's very adept at as well. In the age of the talented but oft injured lead back like CMC, Saquon, and Swift a guy like Jamaal who can come in and consistently be productive without fumbling is incredibly valuable. I believe he actually has one of the no fumble records, maybe most carries to start a career without losing one.

I was surprised no one gave him a shot at being a bell cow after GB didn't bring him back for a 5th year. With how versatile he is and how many teams seem to have ball security woes I would have expected Houston or Miami or Seattle to target him but alas its a copycat league and maybe he is better suited to being the clapper of a thunder and lightning duo. Either way I think he's going to be a top 10 back until swift comes back.

I was really happy to see Devonta Smith have a bit of a coming out party. I drafted him early last year in my dynasty and I've been bullish on him ever since. He had 150 yards and a td at the half and I'm pretty sure he could have put up 250 if they kept throwing. Definite shades of the NC game a few years back where he dropped a qb like stat line.

I can't shake the feeling that if I swap Devonta Smith into my wr2 slot he's going to disappear again and Adam Thielen, my wr2 stalwart for the last 5 years, is going to have his first really big game of the year. It's so hard to bench a guy that flies under the radar but has been a really great fantasy wr for a long time now for a guy I believe in but don't fully trust.

What do you guys think about Dawson Knox? I'm starting to hit the panic button on him a bit. I know they gave him a big deal but there's just so many mouths to feed on that offense and  they're not playing from behind and throwing 60x a game anymore. I grabbed David Njoku who's presumably playing for a contract since he's franchise tagged and had a big game last week, but he's hard to get excited about either since he's always been talented but inconsistent. Even though I hate carrying 2 TEs I feel like I have to until someone steps up.

Dalton Schultz is on the wire in this league as well, would you swap Schultz for Knox even though Daks out? I kinda feel like they have similar floors but Schultz has a higher ceiling, especially once Dak comes back.

I think Knox will be lost in the pecking order behind Gabe and McKenzie. He’s like a Mike Gesicki at this point.

I somehow managed to grab a Dak off waivers in another league. He’d be my back up behind Lamar and all I had to do was drop Trevor Lawrence.

Jonathan Taylor has been horrible, kamara was injured this week but hasn't been targeted by jameis in the passing game, ekeler has had some rough games, swift is injured, Javonte is out for the season, shit has been rough.

Guys like Jacobs and David Montgomery and even Rashaad Penny are deceptively valuable just because they're 100% the guy in their offenses when they're healthy (although Montgomery is gonna lose some snaps if Herbert keeps playing like this).

What's crazy is that of all the 2019 rbs - I swear like 90% of the viable fantasy rbs this year were 2019 draftees - Miles Sanders might be the best one. I don't know why he was getting drafted so late, but that kid can play. Gotta root for an east end Pittsburgh kid too. Between him and Saquon could we be seeing the season of Penn State RBs? Definitely a long way from the days of Kijana Carter and Curtis Enis.

I can’t name a team after a player I don’t have on my roster. It’s like cross-branding shoe logos.

Shame too, because I really wanted to do “Jeudy Jeudy Jeudy Jeudy Rockin Everywhere” in another league.

Anyone else get in on the fun of the annual Taysom Hill game? I swapped him into most of my DFS lineups and it paid off.

The one that I missed was the yahoo free weekly DFS league with 155k people in it, but I still placed in the money for the second time this year. If I had started Hill instead of Gerald Everett I would have gotten top 10. I'm currently sitting around 350th in the cumulative for the season. Top prize is only 3k but still it's always fun to win money in free games. A few seasons back I finished 8th one week which was like $25, that's the best I've ever done in a free contest.

Also I had to laugh, one of the yinzers in my dynasty league blew his entire $200 FAB budget on Kenny Pickett. No one else even put a bid in but this dude was convinced that there was going to be a bidding war. Yinzer logic is absolutely insane, they're already anointing the kid a future HOFer and he still hasn't thrown a TD pass despite the bills playing 5 yard cushion coverage for the entire second half yesterday.

I was happy to see Devonta continue to develop his chemistry with Hurts, I'm really counting on him to be a key cog in my future plans. A.J. is still clearly the top dog, but Smith is definitely nipping at his heels. Kinda reminds me of Chase and Higgins in Cincy.

Discussion points off the top of my head -

Rhamondre showed that he is who we thought he was, dudes got a little Frank Gore to his game. He gets low and he's deceptively nimble for a 230 pound back. You can't sit Damien Harris because he's quietly been one of the most prolific rushing TD producers of the last few years but I think they might have a legit 1a/1b situation now.

Jared Goff showed that he too is who we thought he was.

David Njoku is potentially finally becoming a very solid fantasy TE.

The rams are a mess. I thought Mcvay was supposed to be an offensive genius, but he sure doesn't seem to have any ideas beyond "throw it to kupp". Drafting both Akers and Henderson was supposed to be my safe bet flex spot, instead I can't start either guy.

Derrick Henry is still Derrick Henry. He hasn't had a home run game yet, but it's coming. Can't wait to see the big man burn some DBs in the open field again.

That being said, I think Nick Chubb might have surpassed him as the best RB in the league now. I got him in the 2nd round in two different leagues and I'm in first place in both, almost entirely because of him haha.

In both my leagues I briefly considered grabbing taysom hill and starting him this week, and didn't do it for either.

would've been 2 W's

I had Taysom Hill on my bench and totally whiffed on Draft Kings when I thought about putting him in the QB spot for the Milly Maker, but trotted Dalton out instead. I still won money thanks to Cook, Lockett, Kamara, and Derrick Henry.

“Road Goff” is a thing and why you should always start a home defense playing Jared Goff on the road.

Feel bad that happened to you PAWL especially how the week prior he put up 29 points.

My kicker bailed me out this week, close matchup. Not sure if you’re experiencing the same scenario… my star players putting up sad numbers almost every week. Joe Mixon & Deebo underwhelming. However, seems foolish not to start them every week

And whoever has DJ Moore. He’s a star player averaging ridiculously low numbers this season

I’m open to trade Diontae Johnson…

If you can't find a trade I wouldn't panic. Pickett rolls right when he gets spooked and Johnson primarily works the left sideline, but when Kenny stays in the pocket and trusts his read he's had some chemistry with him. If you trust advanced stats DJ is the most open receiver on the team by quite a bit. Their schedule opens up a bit down the stretch so I could see him being a late season difference maker. He has the worst OC in the league so if you're relying on him for a wr1 you're probably fucked, but as a flex/matchup dependant wr2 you can do a lot worse than a guy who's going to consistently see 10+ targets a week. At best he's a top 10 wr, at worst he's a steady 10 pts you can keep on the bench and slot in where necessary.

I say that as someone incredibly critical of this embarrassment of a Steelers team. DJ can ball and is a focal point of Canada's awful play calling so once Pickett starts getting more of those targets on him in the right place he should start scoring more the way he has in the past.

I do like Diontae Johnson quite a bit. He’s been putting up respectable points. Youre right, still getting plenty of targets every week. The more experience Pickett gets , only gonna help DJ. He was my flex until the emergence of Dameon Pierce. My starting receivers are Deebo & Marquise Brown. Maybe I should just hold onto him. Gonna be a solid substitute when those two have a bye week

He’s good for like 1-2 games a year where he’ll pop off on two big TD catches or something and put up 25. Either that or he’ll get you 4 points. No in between.

Wild day from a fantasy perspective. Breece Hall going down with an ACL was tragic. He's the most impressive back I've seen since Saquon. Hall set the highest ball carrier speed of the season on that long play at 21.87 mph. Hours later, fellow rookie Kenny Walker housed a 70+ harder where he hit 22.09. That's the kind of top end you typically only see from elite backs like Henry and Jonathan Taylor or pure burners like Mostert or Matt Breida. He's got really good vision and his general build, running style, and nose for the end zone remind me a little bit of young Tomlinson. So glad I passed on him in my dynasty league and took Akers instead! I'm such a fucking dipshit.

What a game from Josh Jacobs. He's always been good but with Davante there they actually have a threatening pass game and teams can't stack the box as much.

Gus Edwards looks fully back. I had to choose between him and Latavius for my bye week fill in and it was before they'd officially activated Gus so I took Murray. Another great move. Thankfully Burrow and Henry bailed me out and Murray salvaged my flex spot with a score.

Can any of you commanders fans (assuming there's any left) tell me why the hell they don't like Antonio Gibson? He was one of the few bright spots on their offense the past few years and now they're only giving him like 10 carries a game and making him return kicks. At least they're still throwing to him so he continues to be somewhat productive, but like just from the eye test the last 2 weeks he's looked like a better runner than Robinson to me.

Last but not least, I think the Kenny Pickett hype train has been derailed. His numbers don't look that bad on paper, but actually watching him play it seems like he's just not very accurate. Combine that with rookie decision making and the worst OC in football and you get a qb rating of 66. They're going to ruin what meager potential he did have at this rate... im starting to worry he's going to be the next Sam Darnold or Josh Rosen.

I deserve to be shot for dropping Michael Carter for Isaiah pacheco

Pacheco has some upside, a 4.38 back in Andy Reid's offense could be dangerous if he ever falls out of love with McKinnon. Carter has averaged like 3.5 ypc and less than 50 yards a game even when he was starting so I think they like him as like a spell back who can punch it in at the goal line but know he's not a feature back after last year. I used him to fill in for an injury in two leagues and he was constantly disappointing outside of a couple ppr games. Whole lotta 15 carries for 40 yards and zero scores kinda games. I figured they'd bring someone in since they're 5-2 and looking like an early wildcard favorite.

I honestly thought they'd go after Akers as he's more of a style match for Hall but I guess either the rams want more than a conditional 6th for him or (more likely) no one wants to touch a guy who quit on his coach.

Robinson is a great example of how combine numbers and draft position don't always tell the story though...even if he's not gonna be busting 70 yarders like Hall he's been very consistently productive when he gets the ball despite playing on bad offenses. He's a chain mover pure and simple. I'm super jealous of people that have him right now because someone's gotta score the TDs in NY and I think it's gonna be him.

I have to fill in for Mahomes in a couple leagues. My options are Cousins, Daniel Jones, Justin Fields, Jimmy G, Taylor Heinicke, or take a flyer on Sam Ehlinger/Zappe.

Haha that's kinda where I'm leaning. I've used him as my "qb that didn't get drafted" of choice to fill in for Watson's injuries and indiscretions over the years and he's actually been a very solid qb from a fantasy perspective even dating back to Washington. Every year he finishes with like 15-20 fpg and ranked between 9-13 for qb scoring. It's actually kind of wild how consistent he is without ever winning anything.

Fields has a tempting trend line but he just feels like one of those picks where you get too cute and it bites you. Now that I said that he's going to pull a Tua and score 50 out of nowhere.

If it makes you feel better, Cooper will most likely be bottled up in shadow coverage while Tee Higgins goes off.

I want a rematch Pawl. Fantasy makes no sense sometimes. For example, D’onta Foreman got me more points than Burrow & Mixon combined

haa. I was in this weird situation where I needed burrow to get enough points to win one league, but not so much that you'd beat me- somehow it happened! what a bad game from him that oline is trash

Michael Thomas is done for the year. Again. He's gotta be one of the biggest what-ifs in recent history at this point..

Welp I have to replace him on one team. I'm in first place in this league on the back of a chubb/henry/khalil/miles/Gibson rb core and Mahomes at qb, so I only roll 2 wrs per week and usually only roster 3. Tyreek and Christian Kirk are what I have starting right now and I have an open roster spot to use on a WR. My options are -

Garrett Wilson
Rondale Moore
Devin Duvernay
Romeo Doubs

Or do I gamble on Mecole Hardman continuing to break out and try to combo that with Mahomes? Im kinda scared that Toney is just going to straight steal most of those touches he's been getting.

So you'd go Hardman? He's one of those guys I picked up speculatively at some point each of the last 2 years only to have him disappear again. He's put up 50 pts over the last few weeks but I'm still a little skeptical.

Rondale Moore is kind of the same deal.

Looking to trade Clyde Edwards Helaire sooner than later . Last 4 weeks dismal #’s , not sure why the Chiefs decide not to incorporate him more in the offense. Seriously , one on those times as soon as I trade him … he gonna start producing the #’s he destined for. Send me your offers….

At bare minimum he’s a flex starter . Guarantee as soon as I trade him he starts producing RB2 #’s he accustomed to. That’s how these things work. You benefit

They just aren't running. Nothing new there. He's still the lead back but as a team there's like 20 rushing attempts a game spread between 3 backs. Hard to put up consistent numbers when you only get 10 touches a game but he's the guy they give it to on 4th and short

He's a td dependent Flex, just like every other chief not named Kelce or Mahomes. I don't think he's ever put up rb2 numbers for more than a game at a time, so I would say that was an unreasonable expectation if that's what you drafted him as. He has fewer total tds in 3 years than James Conner had just last year.

Players like CEH can be tricky because you watch him and he looks so good that it's easy to overdraft him but the system around him severely hampers his numbers. He's for sure the best RB they have talent wise but when's the last time you saw an Andy Reid team that had a good fantasy RB for more than a year? I don't think they've even had a back with multiple 1000 yard seasons since Jamaal Charles and he was a leftover from the Todd Haley days so I'm not sure how many of those came under Reid. Andy just doesn't use RBs in a way that is conducive to fantasy success week in and week out.

I got suuuuper lucky with how the byes and injuries played out and managed to get him for a pittance in FAB in my dynasty. I actually drafted him as my last pick but had to drop him early when the Akers shit started. Looking like a solid future wr2 or maybe even a 1 if he keeps it up. Rodgers is starting to trust him, but there's definitely still work to be done with his route running and timing.

I got Davante Adams the same way many moons ago. I hate Rodgers the person but I've been milking his incredible productivity for a good half decade now.

The rookie had more practice time with the other rookie. Pickett didn’t start the season out with the first team offense and likely has better rapport with Pickens.

The truth is no Steelers WR is really worth starting as long as Matt Canada is calling plays. Our biggest chunk plays this year have been soft PI calls on the defense.

If you have to pick one, I'd do it based on what you need though. Johnson is technically "the guy" in this offense so he has a safer floor and will see the most targets most weeks. Pickens is crazy talented but also a little raw and Pickett isn't super accurate downfield where he runs a lot of his routes. He's riskier but his rapport with Pickett and the fact that we've been actively scheming him rz touches means he probably has a higher ceiling, especially in non-ppr leagues.

I may be biased as a KC resident, but the Chiefs are fuckin' zombies. Fuckin never say die.
After decades of watching the Chiefs, I'm so stoked that finally we have team that...we can be down by 21 points with 6 minutes left in the game and I'm like "alright, not ideal but they can pull this out".

Also apparently Henry Winkler is a huge fan of Mahomes and was at the game, Mahomes gave him a jersey and it was such a cool moment.

I got knocked out of my main league by the guy who's so bad he's had first pick 5 of the last 7 years having the luckiest week of his life. He got -

40 from cousins (hadn't broken 30 previously)
20 from Latavius Murray (first 20 pt game of the year)
24 from Kittle (best game of the year)

and I would have still won if it weren't for the fact that right before the game this motherfucker didn't have a flex so he darted Zay Jones in, who proceeded to have literally the best game of his life and put up 32 points. I lost by 12.

I don't really care when I lose to dudes who are good at this but  when you put up 130 and lose to the guy with a roster of jobbers its a lot harder to swallow.

With Tannehill out for the season, I assume the Titans offense will be direct snaps to Tractorcito the entire game and he’ll put up 40+ for me

Hopkins used to put up serious numbers with guys like Tom Savage and Matt Schaub throwing to him. He’ll be fine.

Guess I will not be going to the Hsuper Bowl :(

I did win another league that will get me a good amount of money, but I'd prefer bragging rights here lol

Alright, whoever’s playing me in the championship, what’s your local shop?

You get to choose a shop shirt from 1 of 6 shops if you beat me.

Wild.  Must be no one wants to take on that kinda contract and give the Cards compensation to boot.  After the whole Gannon tampering situation I can’t imagine a team like the Eagles even doing a deal with the Cards front office.  Plus I think Hopkins wants to only go to a Ravens, Chiefs, Eagles etc. so the Cards didn’t have much leverage.  Arizona also nets some cap savings by offloading him before June 1 I believe.

Cards are a mess…. Seems like just a few years ago they were at the least in contention to win the NFC…

Always felt bad he had a QB carousel here…Traded for basically peanuts. Story goes Jack easterby (just google that psycho) wasn’t fond of Hop’s “background” and convinced Texans to trade him…

Thought this was pretty crazy…

“DeAndre Hopkins has caught TD passes from MANY QBs

Deshaun Watson (25)
Kyler Murray (17)
T.J. Yates (7)
Ryan Fitzpatrick (6)
Brian Hoyer (5)
Brock Osweiler (4)
Ryan Mallett (2)
Tom Savage (2)
Case Keenum (1)
Matt Schaub (1)
Brandon Weeden (1)”

Yeah the churchification of the Texans org was weird, another team that seemed like it might contend not too too long ago.

I’m expecting that to happen sadly, a lot of people are blaming the giants but man I think he was offered a fair deal. Considering he always says he wants to play out his career in NY, I thought he would have bent a little more.
