Inspired by the "catchiest guitar riffs" thread. There are so many out there but I'm gonna start with this. Real artist simplify (and if you disagree go tell The Stooges about the single piano note they played through the whole I wanna be your dog song)

Never enough Steve Albini/Bob Weston related content if you ask me :-). His stuff with Mission of Burma is amazing as well.
Big thank you for the Lync song, never heard of them before and kinda surprised they were released through K records. Kind of harder sound for what i associate with the K camp. Gracias for the tip!

so true as well.
Also cheers to other pals bringing up bands i'd never heard about. Keep diggin' amigos!!

glad you dug the Lync @Mcidraque , they are one of my favorites and i return to These Are Not Fall Colors regularly to this day.
actually, speaking of Lync, i also love this bass riff (i think that's what you'd call it)...there's something desperate about it that speaks to me

Wrote “bass riffs” for lack of a better term (Spaniard here so my English is kinda limited sometimes hehe) so synth etc more than welcome as well! (Also Cymande simply cheff kiss. Probably in my top 3 bands to wake up to :-) )
Cheers!

Didn't they do this to get Roger Waters attention for taking shit in interview.
Everyone I grew up with that jammed knew this bass riff.
This was an incredible year in skating for me.
Huge local scene and I was starting to really shine out. Switch 80 line master lol

i love prince so much that i don't actually need to listen to him that often anymore because the music plays like in me constantly.
but i probably listen to sign o the times daily - the whole song is perfect. but it's the bass that makes it.

also, maybe they're too obvious, but Queen's John Deacon obviously nailed it on Another One Bites The Dust and Under Pressure
and maybe i missed it but kind of everything Peter Hook ever played, especially Age of Consent.

FreejAzz basslines are underrated. You seem to need a good groove to really explore those cosmic vibrations.
This is one of my favorite songs. It builds from a chant to a melody based on that chant and then the Bassline comes in…
