Listening to Dan talk (which I have for the most part successfully avoided) is maddening. Dan’s a top tier dramatic over-exaggerator when describing anything.

I watch his channel sometimes (algo light seems to shine bright on his daily uploads, but no excuses, my clicks are ultimately my own...) and it seems like he basically got run out of the East coast scene. He mentioned that he used to skate with the Bustcrew guys until they stopped talking to him. He also mentioned skating with Nik Stain in the past.

Someone earlier suggested that we're supposed to respect this part because Dan is so "nice and positive", so it stands to reason why someone might point out why he sucks outside of skating. That's the thing about conversations. If someone brings up a point, others are likely to respond to it. Especially if the point being brought up is bad and untrue. As someone who often has very very bad points, surely you can see the leap people took to get here.

Saw him skate at a 1031 demo around 2011 at an indoor skatepark in the eastern panhandle of West Virginia. Me and my homies were sitting at the top of a quarter pipe watching the demo and Dan is positioning his board getting ready to drop in and just lets out a huge audible wet fart directly at me and my buddies. He dropped in and skated off and we looked at each other in disbelief and disgust. Always put a sour taste in my mouth (quite literally) after that.

if you insist. i view skateboarding as an artform, its not just the tricks, it has to tick all the boxes. like painting, doesnt matter if the brushstrokes are delicate if the motiv doesnt float my boat. for skateboarding its so much to consider, tricks for sure, but equally style and how the skater dresses, or looks while doing it. spots and filming, music ans oberall presentation counts a lot too. and its not like only one formula works, again, like other artforms, its totally possible to enjoy watching leonardo and the rennesanse masters and also appriciate modern art. thats being said, i do like this part, its powerful and creative.
Shit talks Louie and Casper (while giving the most pretentious non answer ever) and proceeds to shame everyone for shitting on Dan. Bohemian=Dan confirmed.

I can admit, I've watched some of Dan's video and I don't think he's a horrible skater (he has horrible takes, though), but the question that immediately comes to mind is if he felt rushed and can admit this wasn't his best skating, why drop it on YT and call it a full part? Between the sketchy skating and horrible song, what was there to achieve here?

Finally got around to watching the part and his fucking Ted Talks afterwards. I can admit, I've watched some of Dan's video and I don't think he's a horrible skater (he has horrible takes, though), but the question that immediately comes to mind is if he felt rushed and can admit this wasn't his best skating, why drop it on YT and call it a full part? Between the sketchy skating and horrible song, what was there to achieve here?

I'm not usually a stickler for clothes, but his baggy polo shirts definitely don't do him much favors.
I back his other youtube friend, though: dale decker. He has some fun sesh videos on there. He also had a cool video recently where he went to his first jiu jitsu tournament and won some, lost some. it was interesting.
