Hey all. I just got a PS5 and I have a question regarding external hard drives. I have an external for my ps4 and I am now using it on the ps5. The games on the hard drive show up and I can play them through the PS5, but how come the in game files aren’t there?? I have RDR2 on the hard drive and on PS4 I had about 80% completion but when I use it on PS5 I basically have to start from scratch. If anyone can give me an explanation to this I’d really appreciate it since I’m not very smart when it comes to technology lol.

Note: not all save data is compatible with PS5, as it’s down to the discretion of the developer.

Seems like it has nothing to do with the external hard drive. I've been using an external for PS4 and am interested in the 5 so let me know if you're able to figure something out

Saves probably didn't transfer, just move them through PS+ cloud if you're a subscriber or go into saved data settings and export them to the drive and then upload them on the PS5
