-
Can't wait to buy his SOTY colorway eS shoes and tensor trucks
-
Holy shit TJ is a machine.

Hah, he makes the Wade pants tug look subtle.
I liked the red soles though and haven't seen a FUBU jersey in years...
The bigspin line, the 3rd and army and first pier ledge lines were pretty nice
-
red soles? really?
Wade D's Accel colorway had the red soles too and those were the shit.
-
red soles? really?
Sadly this is what Soletech does for every Canadian colourway lately. I think it should be put to rest.

At first glance I was thinking "well, this isn't the best TJ footage I've seen" but then I noticed he only wears two different outfits and is on the same deck the whole part. I'm willing to bet he filmed all these tricks and lines in two goddamn days just months after beating fuckin' cancer.
When I say "TJ for SOTY" I mean TJ Motherfuckin Rogers.
-
A basic BS Noseslide in the middle of a line & the FUBU jersey - bold and brash
Enjoyed this, along with the rest of his footage in recent years.
-
dude keeps me entertained constantly
i wish primitive would have taken him
i think those shoes look pretty good
-
TJ is probably my favorite dude skating in the realm of peak skating talent. This shit is just too enjoyable
-
switch shuv 5-0 backside 180 is an unbelievable maneuver, wow.
-
This dude is productive.
-
yeah mane. super good.
FUBU

He won’t win because he has lame sponsors. The industry is booty.
-
Very inspiring to see how good and productive he is on top of beating cancer.

I had similar thoughts throughout the part. So nuts, mad respect.
I think this is a case where HD makes the skating look slow. We know TJ skates fast, but somehow this camera setup, the shutter speed or something was making everything look a tick slow.
Anyways, luv2see it. TJ is beast and deserves it all.

Tj rips. Hard for me to imagine anyone else looking good in those shoes, but he pulls it off
-
This whole paying tribute to the past that eS is doing is so tired. It’s cool to do that for a little bit, but it’s time to do something new, be creative.
-
SOTY always felt like it was about gnarly shit. I can’t think of a more gnarly lifestyle hammer than beating cancer. On top of that his stylish as fuck skating…

Fine, I'll bite. It's because there is a market for them.
Skateboarding isn't just for kids anymore, there's a massive amount of active skaters in their late 30s/early 40s.
You don't hear from them much because most aren't active on social media or posting on forums, but they're there, trust me. We frequently go to the park at off-peak hours so we don't have to deal with the kids. But we're here.
For us older skaters, a lot of the "cool" new popular shoes are
A - Still just rehashes of shit from the past
B - Not what we're into
A lot of us older vets prefer the slightly bulkier, cupsole shoes of the past. It's what we came up with and what we prefer.
Most the Nikes or Last Resort or whatever shoes that the kids are fawning over are just extremely generic send-ups of old ass Nike, Keds, and Airwalks from decades ago anyways, so I don't see where this supposed creativity is coming from.

The switch frontside tailslide back to switch is such a cool trick at 1:13. Also agree that Primitive should have taken him in.

That’s all fair and I totally understand where you’re coming from re the shoes. I personally like last resort but am fully aware the design isn’t original.
I should clarify what I meant. eS has been doing the same kind of marketing- pretty much banking on nostalgia- since the reboot and haven’t evolved at all. I think DC is doing nostalgia well, largely because they have some really dope, current people repping their shit. eS has a few people that are interesting and I love wade but they’re not doing much with the team. No tours, nothing resembling a full length, etc. This video is fine but also one of few. so it’s more about the way they’re doing nostalgia than nostalgia itself

Pulling up the thighs of your pants before every single trick has got to be one of the most egregious skate fouls of modern times.
-
fuckin A hope he gets SOTY
-
damn those pier 7 mannys reminded me to early days biebel.
-
This deserves a bump. Almost flew under my radar.
-
don't know if it was the framerate or what, but even though a lot tricks seemed/were done at slow speed, the flick was always super fast and stuck to his feet crazy good. that nollie bs flip was the nicest one I've ever seen. also his sw fs bigspins are unreal
-
How does he skateso good in those shoes and barely ties them... What a G

That strap, duh...
For real: the strap may look like a gimmick, but I loved it on the Accel Slim Plus especially for morning sessions. Didn't need to re-tie my laces and as my foot expanded throughout the session I'd just loosen the strap a touch.
