I'm talking kreper trucks, neon grip, copers in the 21st century, etc.
What's your confession?
a 2x multiplier is in effect for running heinous gear past the age of 18
I'll start with purple phantom 2 trucks and neon green grip on the same setup around age 14.
-
I was really into clear grip for a few months earlier in the year. I'm 40...
-
Definitely had green grip, green wheels and gold trucks as a kid.
As a grown man, I had a single deck where I went all out. The grip was in 3 parts: 1/3 black, 1/3 clear (green top ply), and 1/3 purple glitter. It was a blank and i spray painted it gold. I called it the monster. It was my first ever 8.5 deck after riding 8.0 for many years
-
I rode those magnesium G&S trucks.
-
D3's
Darkstar deck
World industries deck (circa 2002)
hot pink zero wheels
Phantom 2's
grind kings
Krux
Randoms Hardware
Any grip that wasnt plain black jessup
-
couloured grip
Rims
Tightpants
-
Grind Kings
A Welcome deck
-
early 00's
Globe Chet IVs
7in Habitat
Royals black baseplate pink hanger
Darkstar core wheels
Consolidated filter bearings
that hardware that you hammered in and had the texture of griptape
dooks shock absorbing pads
probably an obnoxious grip job
-
When I was maybe ten I had this "poo shooter" t shirt that was a weird dog with a human head with anus and balls visible forcefully blasting out a turd. Makes zero sense that my parents either bought it for me or that however It got to me they had no problems with me wearing it.
Skateboarding years:
Size 13 or 14 es cybers
Big shorts with long socks(often random coloured football socks)
Tensors with orange sliders
Had a friend who would run full blackout setups and weirdly dress in all non matching colourful clothes eg maroon emerica high tops, Kelly Green jeans, a purple t shirt and that classic all over print Krew hoody
-
Had some questionable things over the years but i'm currently skating this
(https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0016/3076/5123/products/planbteamtorn7.75skateboarddeckkeputch.jpg?v=1591350922)

Probably like kr3w Greco denim with Reynolds 3 w/diamond in eyelet, a white t that I sharpies a smiths album title on (voila- band t). Think I tied some cut up shoelaces off a belt loop for “flair” (a la boulala).

Questionable...I see what you did there.

Was going through an experimental phase trying shorter boards with 14" WB and this was the only one in stock. 1/2 a session and the combination of graphics and dimensions were too much. 2-hour shower afterwards did help.

I was really into clear grip for a few months earlier in the year. I'm 40...
I'm guilty of using around 3cm strip of it (sandwiched between standard black jessup) so the whole top is gripped but have a sticker/graffic whatever strip
-
Sorbet orange es football (soccer) shirt.
-
Filmed my favorite line back in high school on 7.5” Royals wearing puffy Adios and most likely a Bright Eyes shirt (footage has unfortunately been lost at this point)

That's a reasonable way to use clear tape!

let my wife pick my grip earlier this year. She chose this one. Really hated it.
-
i made this exact thread like 5 yrs ago and my answer then was the DC cypher shoes in blue camo
-
mostly in the early years. hand me down tensor trucks with the slide plate.
NSS shoes! lol
going out of my way to get clear grip on a board that was already gripped.
the krew/baker phase also.
-
i skated krux as a personal choice from 13-16

Oh yea, i had tensors like that too, in some dumbass color combo.
NSS were sick if you were broke! I remember needing shoes real bad as a kid and it was pretty easy to convince my mom to get me some $20 sale NSS's off CCS
That's def their target demographic
i skated krux as a personal choice from 13-16

Krux and very puffy eS muska reissues circa 2012 was a harsh look. I’m sorry, self.
-
I guess kr3w jeans and like a stripped shirts and sweaters, but I’m pretty sure everyone did. I was really into rasta stuff for a little. I liked iPath and satori and went pretty hard with the look. I had really bad dreads in middle school. Maybe a rasta colored sweatband. I don’t really regret too much of it. Ive lived a very silly life. I’m a very silly man
-
I forgot about this. Not skate gear but I ran it..
I had a pair of grey kikwear pants. I guess teenage me didn't understand the difference between baggy pants and flared raver pants. I blame JNCO for blurring this line
-
D32001
All over print Es shirts
Hubba wheels
Super tight Kr3w pants with puffy blue and white leather Etnies Arto's
Leather Jacket or a blazer without a shirt underneath is probably the worst...

i did a lot of skating off of high stuff in a leather jacket for black label reasons (not piss drunx reasons)

other than that i never rode any wacky wheels or grip tape, i do have 2 sasha daley elements i got for ridiculously cheap that im planning on skating eventually

I own multiple fallen cobra hoodies. I’m 38. I’m not ashamed, but I realize most of you probably are, haha.
I’m also not scared to rock shake junt griptape. Although it’s usually mob or Jessup these days, sometimes I paint on it, sometimes I don’t.
-
Big Boys
-
A set of Frankensteined trucks
Destructo hangers in Tensor base plates with the slider piece.
-
My first pro deck was pretty awful looking. A skull skates Hosoi with neon green variflex wheels and a mix of thunder and variflex trucks with some clear grip scraps.
-
I’m guilty of some heinous griptape.
Star Wars battle of hoth grip
Clear grip tape with random stickers underneath that I found as a kid.
Ripped skinny jeans that I bought pre ripped for some reason.
World industries shoes
-
In the BPSW era I had a fit that consisted of green T Bags baggies, a large floral allover print T Bags longsleeve (alternatively a Cypress Hill longsleeve) and a green Hangers beanie. Combined with puffy shoes filled to the brim with socks to make them puffier. Luckily there is no photographic evidence but I must have looked like a clown.
-
i used to run an absolutely garish DGK ALL DAY tee i thrifted in a semi-ironic fashion for a spell in my mid 20s. it gave me pause when a juggalo type dude complimented it when i was skating flat in a parking lot one day.
jeans with slits cut at the bottom like jamie thomas.
had a supreme camp cap phase, but who didn’t.
all the terrible kr3w and brixton slim stretch chinos i wore at a point. skinny/slim stuff in general.
i skated one set of krux and they were fine. i’d skate a pair of non-graphic/plain krux over ventures any day.
-
In 1997 the shop I skated for did a dukes of hazard themed shirt which was of course bright orange and featured the shop name spelled out in the shape of a confederate flag. I ran mine in xxl with the fitted maple hat I had been given as part of my "package" turned to the side. In my mind I looked like Joey Suriel.
That, or the bootleg Bob Marley tshirt with him smoking a blunt that I wore the year after, with a crochet tam holding my silky smooth hair back like a giant hakysack. By then I wanted to be one of the Matts (field, pailes, rodriguez, reason).
-
Clear shake junt on a fluro pink Lucero Madrid reissue. What the fuck was I thinking. It was signed and numbered too.
-
skatemental show me your tits griptape, in my defence it was a hand me down but even still that shit was atrocious
A set of Frankensteined trucks
Destructo hangers in Tensor base plates with the slider piece.
i did the reverse and had gold destructo baseplates with green tensor hangers. kinda bonkers to think of the type of setups i would skate when i was young and broke, i remember snapping a board mid session and my friend had a spare cliche that was a mini board (i think 7.25x28?) and i just ran with that for a few weeks lmao.
-
Goddamnit.
I’ll preface by saying that I skated from 1st to 4th grad: (2 years really, but had a board during that time), quit, and then started again when I was 16ish.
I do not regret any of the silly trends I took part in when I was a child (mismatched rector pads/gloves, swapped with neighbor, copers, tail bones etc).
After that start, it is no wonder I shamelessly hopped on every trend going forward. It sucks because I started strong, thanks to 411 volume 6, and then just progressively got more and more disgusting.
Not skating, or skating very sporadically due to drugs and alcohol, unchecked mental illness, and then eventually rehab, led to some truly terrible clothing choices. Skate adjacent, but very age inappropriate. Like krew chords, faux leather jacket with the fur, new era flat brim with the sticker, hearting haters. Shoelace. Fine if you were 13 ish and just zombieing thru the mall, very disturbing that I, as a nearing 30 year old, thought that was in any world ok. Hearting my haters.
No diamond sweatshirt or t shirt was off limits.
Iron Maiden skate HI’s? Why not.
As to boards and what not…I mean fuck. I had a lib tech with color matched tensors and red wheels. Welcome board.
I rode my trucks rattle loose (unforgivable).
Rode really wide boards. Rode trucks way wider than the board. Wheels too small. Wheels too big. No trend I did not try.
And just for clarity, most of the truly terrible choices were made when I was just straight up old, and newly sober.
-
i had the grind kings with the flames on them
-
at one point i had a black dipped Real deck, florecent yellow Spitfire wheels and to top it off red Orion trucks.
also had a pair of bootleg Osiris D3's
-
I had a tail devil AND grind king rims on the same setup in 6th grade.
-
I don't regret anything I skated or wore. In the time and place, that shit was cool lol.
-

+1
As long as you skated it/ripped on it, it's all good.
My highest ever impossibles over knee high obstacles was on a 7.75 black zero Lopez (his classic graphic), with black tensors (with sliders) and black dark star wheels.
-
Good thread. Here's what I can remember from back in the day (early 2000s).
- XXL T-shirts as a 5 ft. tall 11 year old. I know everybody did it, but that look is just atrocious. The worst one was a grey T with a huge Bones logo print that legit went over my knees. Strong AJ Soprano vibes, but my hairdo was even worse:
- Bleached blond hair, but I was too awkward to get it done in a salon and had my mom do it, who missed a big spot on the back of my head. I have no idea why I didn't get bullied for that.
- Had a very tough phase around 14 when I looked like long-haired Jamie Thomas and OG Corey Duffel had a love child. Ripped skinny jeans, skin tight T-shirts, bandanas, leather & jean jackets... Ambitious look to pull off if you top out at five stairs and flatbars.
- Rode a Zero board with half neon pink, half neon green semi-transparent grip around that time. Sharpied some inspirational stuff on there for good measure.
Found a pic:
(https://i.ibb.co/cg6ZSn9/Chris-Fs-boardd.jpg) (https://ibb.co/SstM4Cg)
- Skated the Silver trucks that had the little thingies to protect the axle threads for a good while. Mine were baby blue. I think I had them on a board with camo graphics for at least 4 months, that was an especially bad combo. I skated tiiiiight trucks as a kid, so the color might be more offensive than them being Silvers. I would've tictac'd on Aces if they'd been a thing back then.
I probably have a lot more if I think about it but that's it for now. Good trip down memory lane.
-
I borrowed a pair of leather Krew pants and Gravis Dylan boots from one of my roommates for a night of drinking and doing coke once. A look that could only be pulled off in 2011
I’ve also been skating for 25 years. There’s been a lot of things that I’ve done/skated/worn that are questionable in retrospect but we’re appropriate for the time. A Lib Tech slick, Phantom 2’s, slider plate Tensors, Bones Wheels, a couple Blind decks, Globes, tight cargo pants, etc.
-
Wait…I forgot that I skated a Libtech deck with those purple Titan Ti Lite trucks. Axle slipped on two sets in a row. Awful all around.
-
I copped a pair of the d3 re issues a few years ago when I was rollin in unemployment- grey and yellow , they were actually pretty fun to skate in but I was getting to many looks/ comments at the skatepark sold them on Depop for more then I bought em for to some non skater lol
When I was younger I had this huge shake junt shirt that said “kill yo self” huge on the front - I’d always wear it to middle school haha
Around that same time I had a set up of a zombie girl creature board - party pack wheels , green Ellington thunders and clear grip with some shit drawings I did underneath haha - I’d love to get a set up that insane goin again tbh
-
I owned like 10 different pairs of Huf weed socks in highschool, wore high water Dickie’s too so everyone could see I smoked big doinks in amish.
-
Like 7 years ago I rocked the full lightweight dwindle set up with tensor mags and impact boards. I also wore whatever the fuck I wanted including slim pants which upon reflection we’re out of style by then. I was in my late 20’s and didn’t need anyones acceptance Now in my 30’s I skate aces and bbs wood while wearing dickies and a beanie. Not sure if I’m bigger kook now for being a conformist/normie.
-
Most of it, probably. I’ve rocked grindkings (because I couldn’t get wide truck where I was in the under-8-inch years), wore discount girls DCs, rode shaped boards on and off through the 2000s, always had a grip-tape design, and a bunch of other stuff.
But in the end, I don’t regret it at all, because it was fun, and in the end, the subjective memories of your skateboarding experience is ALL you ever have, not someone else’s ideas about how cool or kooky you are.
-
I survived being a goofyboi in the BPSW era but despite the ridiculous clothes my most offensive gear was a set of red Trackers with the plastic baseplates. I broke them on an ollie down a 2 stair. I'll never forgive Ken from ZT Maximus for talking me into buying them instead of Indys or Thunders.
-
Had the giant pants and XXL t-shirts in the BPSW era...which looking back was ridiculous but its what we wore so that's just something to laugh off...but before that I was all about thrash/speed metal and wore a fucking "Slaytanic Wehrmacht" shirt. Terrible. Truly offensive in the purest sense of the word.
-
i would wear a slaytanic wehrmacht shirt right now dude what do you mean
-
Currently skating Thunders with neon pink baseplates and I am a 37 year old adult male.
-
The wehrmacht part of it...they were the military arm that allowed Nazi Germany to commit a whole bunch of atrocities throughout Europe...and yes I know the difference between the Heer/SS/Waffen SS - but from the OKH on down they went along with it - so looking back I'm not stoked on that aspect of it.
Again I know that not every Heer member was a NSDAP member- the same way not every US soldier was a Roosevelt Democrat - I'm just saying I'm not a fan of that particular piece of my old gear.
-
At the age of 31 I own 4 pairs of pro skater pants. 2 of them are red.
-
Bright orange Fuct pants paired with striped cholo polo shirt buttoned at the top.

Current board
Fell in love with a setup this weekend.
I wanted a shaped symmetrical board that wasn’t an egg shape. I don’t do good with eggs and sometimes I get tired of popsicles
The only board I could find looked pretty ugly and I love mac and cheese. Pretty Ugly is the name of your band
So I decided to make an ugly board. I bought all the parts I would have never bought before
(https://i.imgur.com/JHBGFTZ.jpg)(https://i.imgur.com/Own7seT.jpg)
Heroin mandy devine or something
Bones wheels
Reds with the shields popped
Ace 55 classics
Pig rails
Mini logo 7/8ths Phillips
Pig grip
I’ve skated it for two days. It took a while to get used to the short wheelbase on transition but I was able to kill some curbs with it. Landed some tricks I haven’t landed in years and grinded the longest I ever have. I’m 48
Have to say that I love not worrying or caring which end is which. I just throw my board down and don’t care. IT’S GREAT. I didn’t touch my trucks and they’re perfect so far
-
80s: neon pink grip; that stack of washers on below your bolt on top of your deck (to boost your ollies); ollie patch made from old airwalk lacesaver attached to other pair of shoes; coper made from pvc on stage ? Indys; paint pen all over grip (that was actually cool)
90s: bpsw
00s: reissue huge Powell 80s wheels on thin popsicle deck
10s: longboard slide wheels on popsicle setup (laugh, but Bert slides are super fun!)
20s: everything looks silly for a man of my age. Haha

Got hit by a car riding this, i probably deserve it.
Once I wore a red lumberjack shirt with camo cargo pants and red prod 7 highs that had animal patterns on the heels. Had a little skate session and then dinner with my ex, when I went to the toilet I realized I looked like Will Ferrell dressed as Lil Wayne in get hard.
-
97 i was like small 14 year old fart with huge orange working pants and bleached hair :D
as for my setup it was offensive that everything was expensive and hard to find so we had to skate some shitty setups
a funny story not related to skateboarding is when i was teaching yoga, and a couple of times i wore red and black tights but since one of the ladies called me the red ferrari i realised something is worng with my outfit :D

Bones ditch tech formula as my real wheels. I think I was actually doing more drugs than skating at the time so I have a fraction of an excuse.
-
Red gold & green venture 5.0 lows, orange wheels and white boy dreadlocks, most like some weed leaves drawn on griptape.
-

His black pant is one of the 4 lmfao I had to get them resized as I am an awkward shaped fuck. I do appreciate the fat kid option with the buttons though
-
I'm also a proud owner of the Frankie cords, I've got both the black and the purple ones. That purple is way louder than I thought it would be, but I actually like the fit a lot. My non-skater friends definitely hate on these pants a lot though. They just don't get it, ugh.

just turned 50 and like to skate in workout gear during summer and then when we are at the beach i wear one of those bro straw beach hats and fishing shirts skating. in my defense, i usually ride my beach cruiser down the beach to get to the skatepark park.
when i was in high school i was biting hosoi, cut open shirts, rector aggressors on street, long hair, head gaskets... in jr high i wanted to go full vision street wear but i was too poor. i think i just had a shitty berret and maybe a fanny pack.

I don’t feel much regret, but I blew almost every deck purchase in the 80’s…. Reggie’s Barnes Street, Johnee Kopp, John Shultes, some real icons in there…..
I’ve run a ton of suspect truck choices that I still stand by, but I’m not totally proud of: Theeve, G&S, Fury….
White Guess Jeans…..
-
Flipped up front bolts (to help you ollie)
The Bird II Lapper (because the bolts didn’t work)
Vision Street Wear or Jimmy’Z red and black iron cross beret.
Jimmy’Z pants with the Velcro side closure that I pooped in on the way home from school.
-
All of these were in the early 2000s:
Element shoes that I probably got at Pacsun for $20. They were pretty terrible all around.
Orange pants with the zipper so they could turn into shorts.
A big puffy trucker hat with a Cadillac logo that I wore diagonally like a moron.
I’m so glad camera phones weren’t around back then
-
lime green cross colors jeans
-
Rodney Mullen almost
cow print krux
black cored spitfires
lucky bearings
-
Mostly trucks had some bright orange Monster's, pink Mini Logos, fucking allover jelly bean graphic Krux, I had the Tensor's with the slideplate too. Needless to say I was a clearance whore, all the shit colorway DVS and Circa. I ran a few Bammy Element boards too.
Clothing wise though I rock some Krew skinnys that were a roomates until them bitches fell apart, and probably worst of all I rocked a manbun.

I think I am guilty of most of these in 1987.
I kept using a tie dye Vision hip pack through 1990 to keep cigs in.
This ended up being handy though cuz I got Jason Lee to sign it for me
-
Levis 510s
-
I had some acme jeans that were massive, probably around 1993. Also had a 7.25" shorty G with some tiny grind king trucks at one point. Shorty G was pretty dope but a board that tiny and trucks that small weren't.
-
Hyper color t-shirts
Sex wax t-shirts
Then jeans so big I didn't see my shoes...
-
Late 90s early to mid to late 2000s:
World Industries slick bottom board
Gullwing Trucks
Black eS Koston 3s
Girl Jeans (wanted to look like Shimizu at that time)
IPath Grasshoppers
Cored wheels
Destructo trucks
Billed beanies
2010s era:
Slim straight jeans
3/4 sleeved baseball style shirts
Tie dye tees
American Apparel zip ups

Had a bunch of Hookups shirts and sweaters in the late 90s-early 00s. My gf who was into anime would buy me shit too, remember around 2004 I just gave all that shit away in one of those clothing drop bins for homeless people wondering if they would just trash them

EE3 was a huge inspiration for me but those set ups didn't help my skateboarding. It wasn't until I widened, lowered and loosened the rig that I began to progress again. And I can never skate in denim jeans ever again.

Ok, I should have stated that the Grasshoppers were offensive because I was trying to pull them off with super tight girl jeans like Shimizu during the That's Life era. The shoes themselves were not offensive, the way I was trying to rock them was.

When I was a junior in high school, Limpies released this hoodie jacket thing that was like dalmation spotted. It was this big fuzzy pull-over thing that felt like a stuffed animal toy fur thing. It was pretty egregious and I purchased one. The biggest problem, though, was one of my skate pal crew also wanted it and purchased it.
To wear such a stand-out, attention grabbing piece, you had to have a devil-may-care attitude that I didn't quite possess. My buddy who had purchased the same jacket did in fact have this proper attitude and so he always wore his and everybody just thought it was the hottest shit and I felt sad and left out and embarrassed. I put my dalmation spotted jacket away and never wore it again.
So it was offensive in that it was ugly, but also offensive in that it showed what I was really made of, which wasn't much.
-
When I was a kid I had some pretty heinous grey Genetic shoes lol... Red and black Fury trucks. I once had a blue Dooks Riser Pads shirt also. Those are some of the more egregious violations
-
7.5 tensor trucks cranked down to the point where they could no longer turn on an 8.25 zoo york deck was pretty abysmal, also noteworthy is that i wanted to have a cutout in the grip after skating it blacktop for months so i attacked it with a steak knife until there was 2 inches of area which had been scraped to the point of being gripless (but still the same visually)
-
as someone else also mentioned earlier, women's flared jeans in an attempt to look like daniel shimizu/austin stephens.
that mid 00's myspace era was terrible and confusing for me.
-
1988 I had a pair of purple Limpies with black and gold mandala looking print. Those were pretty hideous. Fortunately a girl I was with stole them when we split.
-
Swiss ceramics always.
But recently got more expensive bearings… the SKF ceramics. I’m a touch bummed on them as they came grease packed.
-
I wore new deal wicked large orange jeans.

Bout to be the rip-n-dip middle finger kitty socks I got for Christmas. MIL has a white cat I nicknamed “ass man” & they thought the socks are hilarious.

Haha I remember that shirt. Was it Mambo?
I used to think I was hard as fuck wearing an NWA shirt that said FUCK THE POLICE on the back in 89 in the Australian suburbs.
-
Not sure if this goes with the flow or not, but my most offensive shirt was Cannibals Corpse's Butchered at Birth.
I remember rocking some of those hubba bearings too. Never Darkstar though.
-
Zero wrist sweat bands. Wait, you know what, those were cool. Fuck you.
-
early 2000s after wathing fulfill the dream i had some smolik size swooshy pants, definetly wanted to look like that.....
Later on kinda skinny but not skin tight altamont pants. had some purple cords that were hella dope! if polar made 93 pants in that color i'd rock em today too!
definetly guilty on the tie dye shirts too.
definetly had some purple reynolds 3s around the time BAKER 3 came out! i sometimes fuck with colored shoes....
-
K-skinnys sewn yet tighter with purple thread that i never ever washed.
Altamont davis chinos that would fade in the craziest ways after one wash, but were the top tier in comfort.
-
VSW pink gator swirl beret

Guess I have two most offensive gear stories...not sure which is worse:
When I was old enough to know better, one day I went to school with my clothes on backwards just like Kriss Kross. I had scored some kind of jersey and my pants were massive, so yeah I told myself this was going to be awesome and went to school with everything backwards. A close buddy of mine had also put my hair into those rubber band tiny braids things just like Mike Carroll.
It didn't go over well at all. I think I made it all the way to lunch before I turned everything right-way round and took the rubber bands out of my hair.
It's no wonder the next 12-13 years of my life were spent consoling myself with meth and GHB.

I done it all baby. A more apt question for me would be what offensive gear haven’t I ran.

My grandma bought me, a white kid, a velour FUBU tracksuit for Christmas. My parents made me wear it to school at my new HS juuuuuust as I was making new friends. Never lived that one down.

I had a tshirt of this I bought when I was living at my grandmas house and when she found it she threw it away and didn’t tell me :(((

When I was in sixth grade I had Muska Circas and picked out a white Ghetto Child visor from CCS. I distinctly remember wearing it for almost the entirety of a family vacation around New England that year. I’m sure my mom was mortified.

that reminded me of the emerica cords I had. they were like “prince” purple. idk what happened to those, but I loved them. I’m almost positive that if I put them on today though, they would look like compression pants or leggings… 😬

The “Arrest Me, I’m A Skateboarder” t-shirt.
Very edgy for middle school.
-
Lime green griptape for the Popwar board my parents got me for Christmas in the mid aughts. I was kinda into lime green and bright colors back then.
-
Bob’s Stores used to have tons of cheap Hawk clothing back in the day, I ran so many T-shirts like this

Actually you’re right, never had krux or carumbas. Thanks for helping me figure that out!

fluorescent purple superior board in 6th grade, cant find any photos of the setup but it was color coordinated and had these fluorescent green spitfires
-
In seventh grade, I wore a Big Johnson t-shirt to my Catholic school once a month "dress down/out of uniform" school day. It did not go well and ended up having to be inside out by mid-morning.
-
I grew up kinda poor so I couldn't indulge in the kind of offensive gear I really wanted but my worst offense was definitely rocking the 5 for $10 blank t shirts in every florescent color I could find in middle school. I then went from that plus skin tight jeans to baggy Dickies, flannels and 2xl t shirts my last couple years of high school haha. Changing friend groups for the worst definitely influenced the wardrobe.
-
I was pretty poor as well and unfortunately stubborn. Tried to make “trip pants” with some baggy ass grey jeans and safety pins, tight hand me down pants with a xxl hand me down lrg shirt, base ball hat with a beanie over it (Diy beanie visor). I was that little homie who you kicked your gear down to.
What an awkward fucking time to think about haha. I was stuck between hesh and fresh with not enough money to do either. Hot topic white zombie tee shirt and some baggy ass faux-phresh looking pants.
Shit never ends though. Im almost 30 and rock chinos and band tees 24/7. I’ll look back in 5-10 years and be like “what a fuckin hipster douche bag” wearing a target collared shirt and some fucking slacks or something.
-
Around the time everyone was using the song “banquet” by bloc party I decided to sharpie “listen to bloc party” on a white T. Rocked that a good amount

We have a winner here. Thank you for making me feel better about my "destroy" griptape that embarrassing it wasn't that long ago
-
Is spraying your deck and griptape considered offensive? Like any teenage skater I was obsessed with stair counts and Diego Bucchieri was a favorite of mine, sprayed my griptape white with BUTCHER in red.
-

Spraying is cool. I painted House Of Pain on my griptape with tippex. I had the I *heart* Cops baseball cap. Also an overall floral print T Bags longsleeve comes to mind. Snow camo pants. I could go on.
-
enjoi panda graphic grip.
It put me off so much that I removed it after a couple of sessions.
-
that "poo shooter" shirt sent me into a laughing fit all alone in my room for a solid minute. outrageous
either you all aren't copping to how this is making you feel or my relationship with my past self is much more strained than I even thought because this has been a deeply uncomfortable (but funny) trip down memory lane for me
I arbitrarily picked the color orange to be my "thing" for maybe a year around age 13. shirts, basketball shorts, shoelaces, everything.
mismatched shoes
trip pants
extremely skinny ccs denim with a skull printed on the leg. I remember a girl in the hall at school say hushed to her friend that she could see my penis. didnt wear those for long
fingerless gloves
I wore a newsboy hat for a minute??
my actual skate gear was pretty hilarious too in retrospect but that was mostly due to not having money rather than choices being made.
-
For a few years during my hard drugs years I used to rock a "jerk to inflate" pull cord thing from an airplane lifejacket attached to the fly of my jeans/shorts whatever.
