I believe there's an actual thread that predates that but it was maybe deleted? Not sure but this is around the time of the origin. As to why, who knows? Why did actually it's an old heath graphic take off? Or causing mud? Probably just funny in the moment stuff that people wanna keep going for a quick laugh.

Slap posters are medievalists who frequent Renaissance Faires, and they like to use historically accurate locutions, such as "m'lady" and "my liege." So instead of "Gino rides for chocolate," they strongly prefer "Gino of Chocolate," similar to Frodo of the Shire or Boromir of Gondor, etc. Not only is this phraseology period friendly, it's also more linguistically efficient, shaving off an average of one to two words when compared to more prolix modern speech.
