Title: watercolors / smooth jazz
Post by: fineslime on May 24, 2023, 02:37:01 PM
I've always had a soft spot for guitar driven smooth and contemprary jazz. XM used to have a channel called Watercolors... think of the music they played on the weather channel in the 90s while they showed the radar, in fact, that's how I fell in love with this music as a kid.

Anyone else into this style of jazz? I've been digging deeper into artists in this genre and would love some suggestions. I've been groovin on Norman Brown lately:

@fineslime You are not alone.  8)

I very much enjoy this genre as the older I get the less I desire to listen to music that has lyrics. I enjoy listening to music without linguistic information (language) since the overwhelming majority of my workday involves reading and responding to emails and such, which requires formulating messages and I feel I am faster at generating language when I listen to chill music without lyrics.

I almost started a similar thread but saw that you had one already ready to go.

like listening to jazz but haven't really dug in as deeply as i'd like on artist. i more or less will start a spotify playlist or pandora station based on stan getz or theloneous monk but lately i've found myself trying to find guitar jazz for work and also dinner time but haven't found any sources so want to follow this thread and learn.
