I have a feeling this thread already exists, pls redirect if yes.
I'm chilling in a bird sanctuary watching ibis, cattle egret, ravens, grey fantails, currawongs, swamp hens, rails, mudlarks, pied cormorant, black cormorant, welcome swallows and some punk-ass mammal that just ran behind me go about their day.. I'm guessing swamp rat.

Almost 2am here in Los Angeles. I just brought my laundry in from the laundromat -- had to do it after working a 10 hour day because I am going on vacation at the end of the week -- then I ran a flea comb through one of my cats (a little debris under his hind leg but only a small flea caught -- I reckon a bigger one evaded me this time). After that I sat down and ate some leftover thai food (red curry) and guzzled a cpl of Spindrifts while opening my mail (a dvd collection of the series "Wiseguy" has arrived). Now I am going to fold my dry laundry and hang the wet shirts while I watch "Ms. 45".

Just finished an 8:15 to 7:00PM workday. Eating crackers while watching some retro video game review because I don't have the energy to go grab food.

those retro video game reviews/ youtube channels can be super comforting and cozy. they're a reminder of simpler times and technology. I used to watch speed running videos like summer games done quick (and old wwf matches actually) when I was going through bouts of depression. they were almost like a symptom, or a sign, of the depression. I would find myself watching them and think to myself, 'oh shit... I'm definitely depressed.
now I'll occasional watch them for fun, but there's no depression to speak of.
right now: I'm thinking about how happy I am that I haven't been seriously depressed in a long time.

Ought to be working, but any pressing matters have been handled this morning and I don't really feel like working down the list.
So mindlessly reading slap and bs-ing with the coworkers it is

The speed running videos can be super fun. Crazy how fast people can beat Mario and other games I can barely get through.
I like the review videos because the games are mainly new for me. I was lucky enough to have a few systems growing up and I was able to rent games from Blockbuster, but so many games I never got to play. It is fun to learn about them.
And, AVGN is going downhill as he focuses more on theatrics instead of just reviewing the games, but the first few seasons were fun.

Sitting here, eating a jalapeno bagel with cream cheese, sipping a coffee and watching "You've Got Mail"
Happy Thanksgiving!

"You've Got Mail"
That never sat well with me. "You have got mail"
I'm sure there's a reason why, but shouldn't it be "You have mail"?
Anyway, apparently that movie is a remake of some old movies from the 1940s, that I've never seen.
I'm heading to work. Gotta warm up the truck and scrap the frost off first.
-
It's a remake of (at least) "Shop Around The Corner" with Jimmy Stewart, which I guess itself is an adaptation of a Hungarian play entitled "Parfumerie".
What line of work are you in that is forcing you to put hours in on this holiday?
-
I'm up in Canada, posting from my igloo. We had our thanksgiving last month. Just a regular week for us.
They keep trying to make Black Friday a thing up here though, but no one cares. Nothing is a good deal up in Canada anyways.
Enjoy your thanksgiving!!

Another Canuck here. Scarfing down a quick lunch from the Brit bakery (steak and stilton pie) before the 3rd on-line training course of the week for the super confusing and tedious accounting program my work is bringing in "to make my life easier". Then hopefully getting some new hiking boots this afternoon should any sale actually seem like a good deal - but buying boots online seems sketchy as I have oddly shaped feet. Such is life.
