The left is far less likely to use the crass nature of his WWE character against him, you’re correct in that sense. I was thinking more about the character assassination tactics right wingers like to use on minorities (which he would still experience during the primaries).
But make no mistake, the left absolutely WOULD attack a well liked black person though. They’re particularly good at framing right wing minorities as “not (insert race) enough” or some form of hypocrite or traitor because their views may not be consistent with whatever socioeconomic stereotype that’s associated with that candidate’s race/ethnicity.

Yes. Politics has completely morphed into public relations and advertisement. No doubt It would all be on the table if he actually became a viable candidate. But this machine was definitely upset by Trump winning the presidency. He didn’t care about liberal Twitter calling him racist every day and CNN and the New York Times trying to stop him. Opinions are now largely measured, molded and changed on social media platforms and by the alternative media personalities like Rogan, Shapiro or Alex Jones. They didn’t oppose Trump or supported him. If the Rock was backed by the right people he would have a chance.
It really feels like a strange world right now: So many real problems, so much outrage, crises everywhere, everything is politicized and nothing ever really changes. It was probably this sentiment (plus ALOT of racism!) that Trump weaponized to get elected.
I hope the Democrats get their shit together and find someone better and YOUNGER than Biden to win the presidency.
