1 yo son.
Living in a duplex that has affordable rent that I'd like to keep.
No one who matters in the industry (or my locale >:( ) cares about my skating.
Almost 30 and never been sponsored.
Buying more skateboards.
I think about this a lot. But then realize I would probably burn out insanely fast if I even reached any sort of decent level of notoriety.

I read this as “… and work in a skate shop”… so maybe poor reading comprehension would be a reason TO drop out and just skate

I like skating and all, but working for the man is my true passion at this point.

The industry has its head too far up its own ass to recognise my value.

It would feel weird to be a full skate rat in my 30s. I want to take care of my family and bring the cheddar home.
It would feel really selfish if I just skate and have fun while my girl has to work for both of us. Also not interested in starting a Youtube channel and hope that it becomes big.
Except when skating IS your job and you get paid, that's different. I think you can be a skate rat and a responsible adult at the same time.

don't kid yourself. every skate rat i know has a grind.

i would not be able to handle this unstructured/structure-less life for a longer period.
it would all be a downward spiral from there for me.
