Stoked to see Elissa announced. Great to see her getting her flowers and praises recently. She deserves it all and more. I’ve seen BA there the last few years or so. They typically let him skate his run as first skater of the day. He usually graces us with a switch 360 flip on flat. Not sure who else is announced outside of that post but the usual suspects are almost always there. It’s the 30th anniversary so there will probably be some surprises. The new course looks fairly mellow. I would love to see a modern day Busenitz/TNT style run win. Not sure who that would be though. Also TNT has been confirmed to perform Saturday night, so no need to DM him like a man. It’s always cool seeing all these different skaters in person and watching them warm up or skate in between runs. All the interactions I’ve had with pros and industry people at Tampa Pro have always been very chill. No ones really a cool guy or dick in this environment, maybe slightly awkward at worst. I hope to see some fellow Pals there this year.

I think Ginwoo is technically still an AM. He skated at the last couple Tampa Am’s. Tampa Pro got a little strict like 5-6 years ago about letting ams enter the Pro contest. I’m surprised Jart hasn’t put his name on a bloard yet.

Tampa is sick for skating but the downtown spots can be a bust/hectic sometimes. There’s still some chill spots all around the city though and Bro Bowl is pretty close to SPoT.

Unfortunately I don’t know of anyone at the moment, but will keep my eyes peeled. I actually scored a VIP ticket last year from a random person selling them in SPoT IG comment section. It was surprisingly a smooth transaction, SPoT middle manned the deal so no one got ripped of.

I don't really understand how he can compete against Jah in X-Games but not in Tampa Pro. Although I do know Zitzer understands skateboarding a lot better than ESPN.

My theory is that whoever manages Ginwoo knows better than to let him turn pro for Fart. Probably holding out for a ludicrous offer from Primitive, or some other company that’s even mildly respected. Then again, we all know board checks are nothing compared to shoe and drink deals, so maybe I’m just talking out of my ass, and we will see a Ginwoo weed graphic in the not so distant future.

you can talk about your jimmy wilkins and your moto shibatas (and rightfully so) but Tom has something else. Wilkins floats like no other but Tom has this ultra gnarly and powerful style mixed with crazy technique. that front blunt over the channel back in is insane! I think Tom will go down as one of the best vert skaters ever.

Kirby on Nike is bizarre as hell to me
Mario McCoy was rocking the shoes that Torey skates for now…p408 or whatever
Grant really is leagues above everyone else in the control and grace department of skateboarding, and all the pros there knew it
Most pros there were tiny humans. Like 5’8 130lbs
Yuto isn’t a robot. He bailed almost every trick I watched him try
Antonio Durao is way more consistent than I ever would have imagined with his style

It's very rare to see a buff pro. I guess it helps? Not only to jumping but also to falling (the heavier you are, the worse the impact).

Dashawn definitely skated well. Gap to noseblunt was really nice. I’m pretty sure he missed the ender in each of his runs, he was going for 360 flip noseslide or crooks down the handrail. Also noticed he seemed to get off his board a lot and set back up to drop in.

I'm pretty sure Yanko didn't flip his board once the whole comp and street course judges really don't like that.

If you’re comparing Yuto to Yuto it was a Busenitz run….but no..you can’t compare…it seemed a bit less calculated and better flow, but that’s the course and how the event is judged….which is why it’s the best.

Thanks Dave. Definitely familiar with Street Dreams and the Nac but he was going for 360 noseslide on majority of his attempts, landed a couple in practice. He caught the 360 flip into crook on one of his attempts. I’m pretty sure he didn’t mean to land into the crook but would’ve been cool if he rode away from it and I bet the judges and crowd would’ve loved it. He also did a front 270 lip but landed into a Fakie smith and still muscled it out and made it look smooth.
@BurgerCop yeah I don’t remember Yanko getting tech or flipping his board but his speed and power definitely packed a punch. To get whatever place he did was low in my opinion. The nose pick on the bird perch, front smith across the long flat bar gap over the rest of the ramp, back 3 fatty to flatty on the A. All stuff no one else was doing. I’m pretty sure Jamie Foy’s winning run a couple years ago didn’t have any flip tricks, so it’s definitely possible to win without flip or tech tricks.
