Title: Help
Post by: E.l.G on July 04, 2007, 04:59:40 PM
I recently downloaded some albums from torrents but I can't get them onto my itunes. It says they're FLAC files whatever that means but whenever I try to import them it says "cannot be imported because it does not appear to be a valid exported file." I'm regular and can't figure this out so any help would be much appreciated. I'll even give you rep points if you want.

P.S. I would put this in Help but I don't think anyone really goes there. I don't at least.

did you extract the file with winZIP or winRAR
you might have to download winRAR and use that to unzip the files
in the files arent .rar files, you might have to rename them then unzip them

flac is lossless format, meaning that if its ripped from a cd it has the potential to sound exactly as good as the original. mp3 is lossy and has limitations, usually 'audiophiles' and booters/tapers use this format(flac). its really not that noticable, just convert that shit if you want, but there are tons of good flac players around if you arent actually putting them on your ipod.

Instead of posting this thread, waiting like three days for responses. downloading shit to convert his files, converting the files, and finally listening to his two songs, he could've simply opened Soulseek and taken two fucking seconds to download it again. It's not like he's paying $.99 a file or something. Now get off my dick. It needs room to breathe.

I created this thread at about 5 o clock yesterday. Zoo circles response came roughly fifteen minutes later. The material I converted was actually 3 albums, the FLAC versions being the only ones I could find after fairly extensive searching.

I really don't know why you feel the need to make people wrong all the time.
