I don't know, there's something extremely satisfying to me that this dude is so successful. It just gives me joy, and what more could I ask music to do?

Soulja Boy definitely owes Myspace 50% of his profits.

I heard how he got his record deal and all that, and I almost wanna say I gotta give it to him for that, but then I actually listen to part of one of his "songs" and then I think "I hope Gang Starr, NaS and Jeru shoot him in the face."

not a diss, its just the reality of the recording industry. most hip hop is marketed towards a lot of rich suburban folks because they want to be like the have-nots, so they buy what they think is hot in the innercity at the moment.

Hip Hop is marketing its product to whoever will buy it, whether its blacks or whites.
People like this tool, "Soulja Boy", are just products being thrown out there by record labels for a consumer to buy.
He'll be unheard of in another 6 months.

^ yeah thats the way raps been for almost a solid decade. mainstream rap has been pre-packeged for years now. they can seriously produce and record an album in probably a week by now. i've had the unfortunate experience of hearing other soulja boy songs and they all use like the same beat and lyrical ryhthm in all the songs.
