Just picked it up today, gameplays really sick so far, shooting through walls and night vision is some dope shit
Anyone else thinking about getting it?

I beat it yesterday, and it was fucking awesome, albeit a bit short(5 hours). Multiplayer's even better, the leveling up system is seriously the best thing ever added to an online shooter. Anyone else got it on PS3 and wants to get it on some deathmatch? My PSN tag is: ShamelessXL

no. sony runs off servers and i'm pretty sure 360's use p2p.

yeah that was i thinkin, but microsoft produced shadowrun, and it was only for the 360 and pc. so i pretty much doubt that CoD4 could do it.

I should ask though, I have some other shooter game (resistance) and I really only play the online version. How different is this?

There's not gonna by any cross platform online play. Microsoft tried it with a 1st party game(Shadownrun) and it flopped big time. They have to gimp the PC version otherwise they'd slaughter console players because of the precision of mouse and keyboard, and no company wants to do this. And not all PS3 games are server based, COD4 on PS3 is actually P2P like 360. So far its been mostly 1st party sony games that have put up servers, i.e Warhawk, Resistance.

this game has the best online system ive played so far on ps3

rainbow six was good too
this kills them both
thats why the campaign is so short is this game was made almost strictly for online play

i plan on it, i worked really hard this summer so im gonna treat myself to a few games, assassins creed, half life, killzone 2 and time crisis (with the gun)

i tried the skate online, it was so weak, all laggy and shit basically was a contest but really laggy. not too fun

Yeah Skate's online is fucking terrible, like so bad. By far the shittiest component of that game, which is otherwise amazing.

Got this on Thursday, absolutely amazing, blows Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six right out of the water. Online is the tits.

Never been a fan of Call of Duty. I guess I just prefer more realistic shooting games, but I don't get how that kind of gameplay doesn't get redundant for people.

Call Of Duty is a realistic shooter...we're not talking Halo or Resistance here. It's realism is really only behind GRAW, and select other Tom Clancy games.

COD4 is one of the most realistic shooters I've played. So far it's a lot of fun. Although I've been having some trouble with connecting online to my friends games on Xbox Live. I get unable to connect to host errors and such.

played last night at my friends house cause im on my reading break right now, 4 player v.s. on a big ass screen, so much fun
everyones saying killzone gonna be better, i dont know though
