It obviously doesn't fit into the script he had planned for this week's episode...
I just watched that finals video, and the top 10 this year was damn good, with a few exceptions of course. It was pretty funny to hear no cheering for anything Sheckler did, and the whole park going crazy for everything Beach did. Rattray's run was far superior to Lutzkas, he skated the park the whole park and didn't just focus on the rails and stairs. I don't think he stepped off his board, either. Seriously, what the hell is the point of jumping up to the ramp's deck if you're just gonna drop back in? The judges count kickturns as tricks too, you know.

Hah, I did notice the gloom on Sheck's face after Lutzka's run but what probably really got to him was, as the announcer pointed out, all the yelling for Matt was coming from the LADIES! Woo wooo!

As for the trick selection, the same could be said for most pros, everyone is known for their style and tricks that they have on lock, but for whatever reason, seems like the hat, Lutzka is singled out on this.

Fuenzilinda's footage was sick in that. Suprised it hasn't been mentioned yet. But DAMN, Beach was looking amazing out there. Didn't realize he was so good at tranny. That switch back tail on the quater made me jump out of my seat.
Defenitly not feeling Lutzka's run, he mostly stayed to the one side of the course. But i mean, when you don't miss any tricks, and they are all good, you pretty much gotta give it to him. Danm robots. Sucks I know. I bet if rattray got the fakie heel he woulda won it.

If you guys want to see Lutzka's winning run just go watch last years tampa pro run. or you can just watch one of his dew tour runs. or xgames. yeah, any contests in the last 3 years. it's the same thing.

with matt beach gone all this time it felt like he quit skateboarding completely, but his run clearly shows how well he's kept up. damn, my favorite run for sure, as well as my favorite "comeback". he keeps it slightly underground, i like it. this is the first contest footage ive cared about since terrell robinsons gap tre flip boardslide in skeleton makeup at damn am a few years back. that shit was nuts

They should just make the prize money smaller. Small enough that the contest rats won't care enough to go.
Add to the prize a keg with the brand of their choosing. If the rider is straight edge, let him/her have a keg of MacDonald's orange drink if they want. It will be better than a cheque.
Now, from lowering that cheque, they could throw in bonus prize money. Ones pro's don't know about until after. Legit ones too.
- Most legit tricks to risk in a run.
- Biggest hammer in a run.
- Techest trick in a run.
- Best line.
- Sickest tattoo.
- Widest board.
- Fastest Abec.
- etc.

well don't forget beer city. kid has ben around for a while, I don't like him or really enjoy his skating that much, but he does waht you have to do in a contest, land alot of hard tricks, in a row, not fall, in a short amount of tiime

I remember when Lutzka rode for Beer city. I'd see him skating a park by me during the winter months. He was a cocky little bitch who eventually got banned from the park for being such a prick that nobody wanted him around. He would do tricks that other people had done, look around and wait for people to cheer. Usually his syncophants from Milwaukee would get all ass-kissey and freak out about how awesome he was. I hoped like hell he wouldn't make it, because he'd make the midwest look bad. I heard he got a BETTER attitude as he aged, and mellowed out, but according to the Tim O'Conner epicly later'd, he still is an egocentric asshole who jerks off to his own ads.
