Title: Good ebay Blanks
Post by: able on June 04, 2008, 02:32:26 PM
I can't afford to spend full price for blanks right now. I'm flat broke. But I need to keep skating. I've been looking around ebay for blanks but I don't know how good the wood is. I'm looking for a 5 deck deal like this one

http://cgi.ebay.com/5-TMR-Black-Blank-Blanks-7-75-Skateboard-Pro-Deck_W0QQitemZ330240880702QQihZ014QQcategoryZ16263QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

but I have no idea what kind of quality I'll be getting. Does anyone else order their boards through ebay. I'd appreciate some advice.
thanks

a few kids in my area got a blank deal off of ebay.  these kids usually keep boards for months and they blew through the blanks insanely fast.  terrible wood.  but i'm sure out of all of them there has to be something decent on there.

Yeah, the kids around here get them off ebay too. Now I don't know about those but, from what they say these blanks called TGM are a lot better than the other ones floating around.

You might want to try these. http://cgi.ebay.com/5-BLANK-Skateboard-DECKS-Blanks-Deck-7-75-AAA-CHEAP_W0QQitemZ220232691457QQihZ012QQcategoryZ16263QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262
Man some things are so cheep. $8 wheels? Next time I'm out of money I'll be getting stuff from ebay.

DO NOT get these. those are garbage. get Moose blanks from the same seller. they have a shop in michigan and their boards are good quality for the price.  make sure you get the Moose blanks and not the AAA ones. http://stores.ebay.ca/TGM-Skateboards-Online-E-Bay-Store_BLANK-DECKS-BULK_W0QQcolZ4QQdirZ1QQfsubZ226377QQftidZ2QQtZkm

Moose are definitely the best Ebay blanks, but it sucks that you have to order one by one with no shipping deals.

Never get Reas or Cyres decks, they're not even real skateboards.  I got a 5-pack of "Better Made Blanks" which I think were from TGM, they're pretty good.

A couple years ago I got a 10 pack of variety color blanks off that wstwo seller for about $150 and they were seriously garbage.  Extremely shitty wood and the concave was way to mellow.  There was one deck that lasted me about 10 minutes, snapped the nose on a flatground nollie!  Unbelievable.  The whole pack probably lasted me about 5 or 6 months.  I mean, not bad verses buying 3 decent boards and have them last 2-3 months.       they also came with 10 sheets of grip

I would say not to do it, yeah look around for moose blanks.  I also think wstwo still does 3 and 5 packs of decks from legit companys for reasonable prices.

Whateva floats your boat man.

after paying for shipping, you're only saving a few dollars really compared to if you bought an ATM or Mini-logo for 30 bucks at your local shop.

^^ I have to respectfully disagree there. The shop I rode for closed down. Now my only alternative is to buy moose blanks for $35 bucks plus $8 dollars (yes I said $8 dollars) for grip tape. gawd damn! That's too much. Then you have to factor in tax. it's around 47 bucks!

I just ordered 10 moose blanks $100 dollars
10 sheets of jesup grip $25
and shipping and tax =$170.00

That's around 17 dollars a board with grip.
a savings of....... 30 bucks a deck.

Hmm well thats a good ass deal if they're good decks... let us know how they turn out. I can relate to shops closing down though... our local shop in my hometown was bought out and turned into a cigar shop. They had a skatepark too, no clue what happened to all the ramps but they were probably all salvaged and sold for materials.

That's a coincidence. I rode for Nicotine Skate shop. They sold skateboards and tobacco products. They moved to a smaller building and only sell tobacco stuff.
where did you get this deal?
(I'm giving out all my secrets here but,...)
