Even though this is just for the soundtrack, could be also for their video.
Westminster, CA (8/25/2009) – The stars aligned when FLIP SKATEBOARDS joined forces with noted music producer and premier league DJ Baron, to create a completely unique soundtrack for their hugely anticipated third video project “EXTREMELY SORRY.” The soundtrack has been years in the making and features an array of musical styles to match each skater’s part in the film. Baron worked closely with film director Ewan Bowman for countless hours to score original tracks which matched each skater’s style as well as one of the film’s stars Geoff Rowley, who helped Baron connect closely to the skaters and legitimize the process with them and the skateboard industry.
“EXTREMELY SORRY has been 4 years in the making and the most insane journey I have been on. The music was made to serve the skateboarding and the skateboarding is epic.” -Baron
Through an array of relationships, Baron, Geoff Rowley and the FLIP team were able to arrange a mix of artists to provide vocals throughout the soundtrack. At the time of this press release details have yet to be released, however expect appearances for major acts in the rock, rap and punk genres.
Partnering with Volcom Entertainment to distribute and market the album, FLIP feels this soundtrack will set the standard to come for skate films in the future.
To give a taste of what the soundtrack will be like, FLIP has released an instrumental track from the EXTREMELY SORRY David Gonzalez trailer for FREE available on the Volcom Entertainment site.
The soundtrack will be available for purchase in stores on 10/20/09.

wow, interesting. Fingers crossed it doesn't suck like the "score" music in that one Element video and that one e'S video.
Shit, i trust Rowley completely.
-
Willow fucking kills it. I always look forward to seeing more footage of him.

hmmm this could be embarrassing, especially if they choose some weak ass rapper...
i hope and expect for the best though

rap music in skate videos is usually a recipe for disaster to me. we'll see..
-
the guy at NHS said something about sep 15th. he also said "don't quote me on that" though...
It would take a pretty incredible "original skate video soundtrack" for me to consider buying it seperately on a music disc though. that just seems stupid/ here's hoping for some boulala footage

jereme rogers does vocals for rowley's second song/slo-mo song.

You're being sarcastic, right?

you mean like "The Storm?"
-
It's so much better when the riders pick their own songs.

i have to agree. and don't get me wrong, rap is mainly all i listen to. skaters/editors just tend to pick the most boring/weak songs for video parts. and a rap song custom made for a skate video just sounds dangerous... like is he going to be rapping about skating, like when a rapper makes a song for the soundtrack to a movie and follows the theme of the film... haha i hope i'm just being paranoid

the only boulala footage we might see is sketchy voyeur cam footage of him getting raped in an australian prison.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that the soundtrack is going to suck a big nutsack.
-
the music probably will suck, but at least the video is finally coming out. i really can't wait to see it... this will be the best video to come out progression wise in a long long time, we probably have no idea.
-

you're basing this on what exactly?
-
2 months, not 2010
-
Regardless of music, we're going to be seeing new Rowley and Appleyard parts. And at this point, that's more than worth the price for me.
-
i think were going to be pleasantly surprised by this. seems like they put a lot of effort in
-
i forgot it was gonna have its own score. i'm a lot less hyped for this video than i had been now.
-
how is this any different than a motion picture getting artist to contribute songs. i have a feeling that's exactly what they will do and think it could work out really good. motorhead is one of the most consistent bands on the planet and i'm pretty sure that they'd be down to break off rowely a track and that it'd be on par with the rest of their stuff.
-
Can you say "hype"?

As good as the skating in this video will be, I honestly cannot see myself watching it that often.

YOU MY FRIEND ARE AN ASSHOLE/IDIOT
-
let me get myself clear before all you clowns start to cry over the internet, i listen to alot of rap music and thoroughly enjoy it, but in skate videos..i dont know, im usually not feeling it. unless its like an older video that it fits like mixtape or something. i grew up skating in the 90s and it was all tight in those videos, but it was good and more fitting then. these days, it usually sucks. not always, but usually. it depends on whos skating...like i dont think the dgk video should have an all slayer soundtrack obviously, but corny white kids skating to bad rap songs sucks no matter how good the skating is. im also with iusedtoskate on this, like james craig(i think) in that blind video with a personalized murs song...that was pretty lame.
-
I stopped caring about this video 3.5 years ago. Will they just shut up and put the fucking thing out already?
-
So you're saying you didn't like TK's baker3 part?
-
"mike carroll's insane, bustin' out hurricanes..."
-
im reaalllly skeptical on how this is going to turn out.
Video's like this a guaranteed to suck
-
I don't like the idea of the video having a soundtrack at all. I also don't like all of the little kids. I do like that there will be new Geoff, Apple Nipples, Penny, and there should be a Shane Cross part and hopefully some Boulala. My guess is there will be some amazing skating but it's going to suck as a video.

-

Is that really the whole Flip team? Damn the video seems like it is going to be weak.
-
^ When did Jeremy Wray get on Flip? Also, who are all those other guys in flip shirts?

I had the same thought, and I would base it on the fact that almost everytime a video has ever had its own soundtrack the best it can be is annoying and cheesy, but usually it just makes the entire video boring and unwatchable.
I suppose the Mr. Dibbs/photosynthesis thing worked out though

matt bennet in the back with the long hair

wow how bad would that be? His whisper raps in his part? I would have to watch with the sound off.
