Title: trying to make a spot...
Post by: zipzinger666 on November 30, 2009, 05:00:29 PM
i would walk past this thing every day on my way to and from my old high school, and thought it would be rad to concrete the bottom and make a quarterpipe type thing. being a 16 year old kid with little options and knowledge (as well as being lazy as fuck) i always dismissed it, but now i feel that i could make it happen. Ive never mixed concrete or tried anything like this, so i was hoping i could get some tips and general help from people who have tried stuff like this so i dont half-ass it and keep it skateable for as long as possible.

thanks

don't forget to go back a day or two after you threw down the quikcreet and toss an extra layer of sandcrete/mortar mix on top of it. use as little water as possible for the best consistency (aka your cement won't crack).

if I were you though, I'd just glue some angle iron down on the edges of that bitch and have a field day.

with this kind of stuff you really have to just go out and try shit. ask the guys at the hardware store if the package isnt self explanitory.

i kinda figured that I just didnt wanna make sure i didnt do some dumbass basic errors that could waste a lot of time and possibly ruin the spot for good before it got started. Im way stoked to try this out though...
