I don't think he will ever be able to top that part. I dunno what it is, there's something about PJ that makes watching him not even fun anymore. I think he lost his soul. Or maybe it's just more fun to see people skate (and rip) obscure Massachusetts spots as apposed to all the same spots as everyone

He went downhill after getting on flip. Appleyard too. Both stopped skating ledges as much and its a fucking shame

appleyards style was bunk ass shit back before (and during most of) photosynthesis. his new stuff is a hundred times better

Are you fucking regular? His style was so good back then. Crisp and clean. Not that it isn't now, but back then he was skating ledges and doing lines. Now its just hammer, hammer, hammer, flatground trick then hammer, hammer, hammer, until your fucking eyes bleed. Name one thing he did that looked "bunk ass" in photosynthesis.

if i name a trick are you going to change your mind? im not going to go through this stupid shit with you, you seem to thrive on extending dead arguements. you have a horrible perception of style and that is that.

His 360 flip was regular looking.

There that's one.

if i remember right the rumour was that part of him leaving was that he didn't want that sketchy flip backside tailslide used in the video. either way, his earlier footage in the true mathmatics vid shows he has always had that smooth style, a sketch trick here and there on video doesn't mean shit

it also has something to do with him concentrating more on the way he looks and the he looks when he lands

It seems to me that the differences between old PJ (circa WHL) and new PJ (post-Flip) are definitely the spots he skates now, his hammer-esque tricks that he does now (less lines), and how he gives the impression of an overall lack of fun/emotion in his skating i.e. no more pressure flips, no more lines where its 3 or 4 flat ground tricks followed by a simple crook. I don't know it just seems it started this downward slide after his Flip part came out.

its just that he desn't want to become a gimmick skater, so he has to fall in line with the rest of em.  and he definetly still has fun skating.

it sucks that skating new spots with innovation, style and creativity is a gimmick

no thats not what i meant

i mean, i don't think he wants to become "that crazy flatground guy"

Considering how many people loved WHL I can only express growing disappointment with every new less interesting yet technically good part he produces.  Granted he didn't want to be pigeonholed but going the exact opposite way and barely standing out is not an improvement either.  If a guy does the same tricks as everyone else why bother differentiating him from them?

Yeah there was/is something different about watching PJ doing sw flip btail sw flip outs on obscure/non-played spots versus watching PRod do the exact same trick on a ledge we just watched Ronson skate in the last vid (just a hypothetical example).
