oh my god that was fucking perfection.
-
bs nosebluntslides on tranny are something i don't understand at all. lots of respect for anyone who does that trick.
-
BS noseblunts to regular are one of the hardest ledge tricks that I can think of and he makes them look so fucking easy.
Rad David Bowie song, too.
-
sick. Been skating since 88 and I've never landed a bs nb slide :P :P
I was a little surprised how his wheels locked in the groove between the slats of the bench.
-
no cons on his feet.

no cons on his feet.
which means it was filmed a while ago...
-
oh my god that was fucking perfection.
it showed him doing it on that same bench like 6 different times and i never got sick of watching it.

Only guy that doesn't make really bother me when he pushes mongo switch because he skates too damn clean. Not sure if he still pushes that way.

See..... im the opposite of you... i can't stand when dudes push switch. Usually it looks fake as hell... un natural...there are a few dudes who can pull it off.... but it even bothers me then. To each his own... i guess. Most of my favorites push one way... and one way only.

that was sick but you would think for a bs nose blunt "trickipedia" he would have made sure to actually come at it backside, not straight on

Shuriken can push switch really natural and make it look good.

It's always the dudes who skated in the early 90's who don't give a crap about switch mongo.
For me, I push with my back foot going forward and backward but that's because I pushed normal mongo from 88-89 when I first started skating.
You are right though... It can look fake and awkward.
-
Fuuuuck
I wish I could do those

C'mon kalis. If you've been skating switch for 15 plus years, there's no excuse to look like a goober and push switch mongo.

As someone who isn't that good at skating and pushes both ways I find it hard to believe that people who can skate switch so well can't push switch also. I pushed mongo when I started skating and quickly realised that I needed to learn to push properly so I now push both ways just as well. If you never pushed mongo then I agree that it can look awkward and unnatural but with enough practice it can become totally natural, just like any trick. I find it practical too for when your trying a switch or fakie line and a quick push is in order. Although as you say "Each to their own."

wtf are yall talking about
it has nothing to do with
kenny's reggie back nose blizzie
the lockin is stoops
kennys a bad muthafucka

Truthfully.... it feels pretty wack pushing switch. Also... fakie flips look shittier after a switch push. I guess its the 90's hip hop in me. Hard to teach an old dog new tricks!!
I think pushing switch takes away a goofy or regular footers natural style. But what do i know?? ???
Back to Kenny and his SICK back nose blunts!!
-
Backside nose blunts are one of the coolest looking tricks ever, and Kenny does them well.

rewatched your mindfield part yesterday, did you push switch before the swbigspin back tail line because of the setup?
-

-
normal mongo, switch mongo, what the fuck are you bastards blathering about?!

Speaking of Koston. The line at 1:13 looks better than his 1:28 line to me( the kicking parts) I'm not sure how mongo could ever look better.

best style out imo

Yeah... it was easier to re adjust my balance on that one....
Actually... I might have been pushing reverse mongo at first... but that fucking trick took so long to do.... maybe my mongo leg was just too tired... lol.

lmfao! That's just too funny. That line is the #1 thing that stood out in that video for me. sw big spin bs tail is just bananas.
-
the dude is amazing , he makes everything look fucking effortless!
-
he is wearing cons in the new crailtap catalog
-
i physically can not push switch mongo. if i try, i lose my balance and have a gnarly wipeout brah
-
Also... fakie flips look shittier after a switch push.

i always wanted to have a solid switch push and never felt like i had it, but it's funny- that exact fakie flip thought is one of the only things that made me feel ok about my switch mongo situation. love me a fakie flip.
-

I've been working on it little by little and am finally showing some improvement. I don't mind the mongo look at all with switch (I actually think Koston makes it look rad). I'd just like to be able to do both.
Especially, I've noticed that when doing a switch backside ledge line, if I'm close to the ledge, there's no room to push mongo - a good switch push would really come in handy there.
-
best style out imo
-
training yourself to push switch is lame.

[/quote]hands down the best thing in the entire dvd was in the extras when you took out a whole family trying that trick.
those bs noseblunts were great, i had to watch it twice. i was hoping for at least one mid-ledge bs noseblunt though.

Those kids were fucking everybody up that day... the locals were yelling at them... they were just all over the place. Like mini lurks...
So... i said fuck it.... i'll just smash into them.... and see what happens. They bounced and didn't come back. :)

now that you mention it, it does look super planned. cause you could have jumped off to the side and avoided them, but instead you just stuck out your arm and pulled them to the ground. haha

i love behind the scenes, kind of things, such as this

kalis, you push regular switch in the switch heel noseslide line in the dc video. and your right, it looks kinda awkward. your style comes out way more pushing switch mongo
and yeah, kenny's back noseblunts are magic!

but a natural looking switch mongo is better than a forced looking switch regular.

This thread might be dead, but I'll reply anyway: I don't mind a switch mongo push. A lot of guys make it look good like Carroll, Leo Valls and Kalis. Back in the 90's pushing switch mongo was the norm - I think we was just called it pushing fakie, no such thing as switch mongo back then. When did people start saying switch mongo anyway? I started pushing switch regular after seeing Ricky Oyola's part in Eastern Exposure - around 96 or 97, I think. He looked really good doing it, so I wanted to give it a try - and I've stuck with it since then. Yeah, but it always felt a little strange doing fakie tricks after pushing switch. Doing switch tricks felt more natural after a switch regular push than a switch mongo one. Anyways, doesn't really matter how you push ( as long as you're not pushing regular mongo!), if you got a good push you got a good push. Period!
