yea, i dont have any clue what people like this are thinking...how likely is it that there is dry ground in the fucking winter in places like nyc and chicago?

Was just in NYC for a week for Agenda. First time ever and I loved the shit out of it. The weather was brutal for my southern blood and the snow did seem to make skating seem near impossible but I saw quite a few kids pushing around on the couple of days where the temp. was above 30. I already bought a ticket to go back in the summer and enjoy the perfection. Didn't get a lick of skating in but I did throw a snowball at a pigeon for the first time in my life.  If you are going right now and plan on skating I wish you the best of luck and have mucho fun sir.

I'm going to be there for an interview near Penn Station. Is it skateable yet up there?

its rained a lot the last 2 days but the sun is out and things are starting to dry up.

The city is fully skateable.  Most of the winter debris have been cleaned up, but a lot of the streets got even rougher somehow, so don't bring the set-up with small wheels on it if you plan on pushing around between spots.

Turned out to be pretty sweet. The sidewalk is way gnarlier than I expected, but I got around ok. Hit up the Autumn shop and Skate Brooklyn, cool guys. I'll probably be moving up in a week or so.

I'm visiting NYC soon with my girlfriend. Went through the Quartersnack spot lists but there wasn't too many chill spots or skate parks there... Any advice for a "girlfriend spot"? You know those spots, "sit there, read a book while I roll around for a hour or two".
Thanks.

I'm heading down to to new york on the easter weekend to skate with my buddy. I've tried to pretty much every hostel possible and they're all booked. Anyone have any ideas. I'd would stay at the Greenpoint YMCA, but I've heard the bedbug situation is pretty gnarly.

if you can't find a place i'd suggest trying to sublet a place.

brooklyn, bronx or queens is way cheaper than manhattan, just gotta be careful in some areas.

Astoria or Chelsea Piers or North Moore are your best bet. They're in parks, so there's places to hang outside the skatepark.
