fuck yeah, I've found so many good lounge records in random places, the best part is they're so cheap and so awesome. Esquivel, Les Baxter, Heinz Keissling, old Henry Mancini soundtracks, walter wanderly, arthur lyman etc... all great.
-
my grandma just found a whole bunch of old 45s, a bunch of beatles, beach boys, ccr and other goodies
-
do vinyls increase as the older the year they were produced?

this actually isn't too great but sun ra and his band play on it and a sun ra batman lp is almost too good to pass up. dude wanted $45 for it though so i passed.

sun ra and batman! what!? that's fucking sick.

the band is called the sensational guitars of dan and dale but it is definitely an uncredited sun ra and the blues project. it's weird because it's pretty straight forward sixties pop. it's actually pretty boring. one of the records i'm always on the look out for though because i swear i've seen it in a thrift store before and missed my chance.
-
ive seriously been slacking at record purchasing. the last records i bought were graf orlock "doombox" and owen hart "earth control" preorders and tom waits heartattack and vine from goodwill.

Also, my grandparents gave me a bunch of my uncle's 45s from when he was a kid, one of them was purple rain on purple vinyl, so stoked!

You're a one trick pony. The 60's are overrated. Find some original material ala Nuggets or Pebbles comps to see what real shit from the era is.

Dude, I love the B.O.C record. You're my favorite electro/etc-head on here, you know your shit. props.
-
FUCK Yeah Hate, I love Jesus Lizard, I pray to Duane Denison.
But as far as vinyl goes I have trouble finding things that aren't repressed...and yeah the originals would probably be really expensive.
-
I want to track down some Jesus Lizard vinyl (especially Goat), but unless it's repressed ,I bet it's super expensive
Fuck yeah! David Yow supreme.... You peep any scratch acid lps? The originals fetch a price, but everything is being repressed these days and they're just as good if not better. I have just about everything released from those dudes and my buddy Jason has their whole original discography in vinyl form. I'll ask him for quotes he's a collector/seller.
Check out David WM's solo bass stuff its amazing. I'm an Illinois native so the lizard is top notch... You get down on any Steve Albini wares? Shellac played a show at a VFW here a long time ago and I have an ass ton of photos, etc.
-
Scratch Acid is great!
Being an Austinite, i love all the old Trance bands and texas noise bands...Crust, Johnboy, Pain Teens, Ed Hall, etc...

the first pressing of it, with the comic that snock drew in perfect condition sitting inside. I have been trying to find this (and all Michael Hurley's other stuff) for a long time. Walked into a local record shop and asked if they had any. Owner said no, so I started looking through a random box of vinyl. I found that record, and asked him how much he wanted for it. He said someone had just donated those and he hadn't priced them. I said shoot me an offer, so he said give me $15. I tried to keep a straight face, paid him $15 and got the fuck out of there. The only other time I've seen that album it was on ebay for $300. Yes!! It's so much more fun to find a record looking around at shops as opposed to the internet. Makes finding a gem like this much more satisfying.

Great find. That's one of my favorite records. I just have the reissue but before that it was one of those records I wanted for a while. I'm happy with the reissue because it's a record and I can listen to it. Finding an OG copy for that price is amazing though.
