I actually don't care that much - I think Skate3 is pretty much a perfect game.
Wouldn't mind if they just threw us a new DLC with some new terrain occasionally, but that's probably wishful thinking...

no they need more tricks, like no comply flips and proper backside no complies among other thngs.
i cant believe that it could be canceled though considering that skate is te only remaining skate game franchise and i would think a big market for ea.

I don't really see a point of another one. They're going to go through development for maybe a handful or new tricks and new spots?

Tony Hawk series got scrapped.. dunno if folks might be getting the two confused. EA's cut a bit of fat with quite a few series over the past couple months though, so I also wouldn't be too surprised to see it get postponed a year at least. I'm still playing Skate 2 so it doesn't really bother me too much.

Nobody who was involved in keeping the games legit is still working there, and what's left of the development team is now working on a new SSX tricky game.

If there was a skate 4 they need more realistic places like in skate 1 cause gigantic stupid long rails isnt fun to skate.

Skate 3 was a cunty THPS 3 gloss fest, but the prob is Black Box was ripped apart after Skate 3, so 4 just ain't happening.
I would have loved a more Skate 1 vibe from 4, with nothing more than a better look, honed physics so they're less silly, less glitchy hardcore mode, more solid career story with photographer control and 'session' multiplayer where you can hang with your friends at a spot you set with a marker, watch each other skate as it rounds your turns. Basic but awesome upgrades.
So yeah, DLC would be fine for that, and seasonally upgraded boards, or be cool and let us put photos on our decks so we can upgrade our shit.
But yeah, not happening.

i personally think skate 3 is fine the way it is, hardcore ledges and grinds can get annoying at times but i think it pretty much perfected the franchise and a 4th iteration wouldnt really add much more. that, and once you beat all the DLC theres a message from the designers that they wont be doing another one any time soon.

So what you're saying is that they aren't going with the murder mystery theme that I heard rumors about? I thought Reda was going to get brutally killed after he got mouthy with the wrong Puerto Rican. Then it was your job to find him and battle him in a 24 hour game of SKATE to the death.

Speaking of new terrain... i'm probably the only fool who didn't know that you can get over the fences in the art gallery DLC and there's a bunch of the old rez there... just discovered that - duh.:)

It really just annoys me that it would be so easy for them to just release the whole San Vanelona from Skate 2 as DLC for the third game but they didn't do that. Port Carverton fucking sucks by comparison.

Pretty damn close, and with the DLC's, Skate is probably more profitable.

Maybe they're just taking a year off. SSX's new game doesn't come out till 'next winter' so I'm not going to expect anything in 2011.

DLC for Skate3 would be enough, I'm happy with the game, but to keep it fresh it would be good to get more maps and gear occationally. Importing images to the graphic creator would help with deck and t-shirt graphics, but it would be cool to get some new different clothing items and shoes as well.
I'd like to get rid of all the underflips and shit, maybe put in impossibles and something, but I think it's ok if they don't make another one, because they might easily fuck the whole thing up.

maybe they're going to make "street league 2012"? so it's more in line with their other sports franchises and they can come up with a new one every year!

Before I came here I was on the EA Skate Forums and the devs were on there pretty frequently, but yeah, skate 4 isn't happening. The Skate. series was meant to be a trilogy.

The same control scheme for the skate series is being used for the new ssx tricky game.
I'm not really worried about the probability of no skate4, though. When thps came out, it was the best shit since thrasher. Then skate came out and blew thps outta the water. Only a matter of time before something comes along and makes the skate series look like 720.

Im not sure how active the Black Box team is anymore with the the Skate series, but i would really really like a DLC with the full map for skate 1 and skate 2, id fucking pay 20 dollars for that shit. Id take a straight port using some shitty automated texture updating program. In fact, someone should start a sort of email program or petition requesting such a thing.

I always thought about this. The gta games would be perfect to skate. Back when i played vice city i would ride a motorcycle down handrails. I don't know if that is related to this but that is just what i did.

Skate 3 mechanics with the Skate 2 city. I think Skate 2 is just so damn slow for some reason.

Skate 4 should just equal Skate 3s mechanics tightened up with Skate 1s aesthetic. Totally.
And fools should update product lines, that'd be good. And put Zig Zaggers in the game.
