I meant more like he'd been there so long and never got offered a shoe.
Obviously Lucas puts himself out there and is rewarded for it. I wasn't taking into consideration merit, only tenure.

the only gripe i have is that they don't appear to have the recessed laces like the buzenitz and ronan's do... i love that addition. other than that they look great, i'm eager to see better pics of the white ones.

Ha-  never heard "jawn" before?

There's even a skate rag called "Skate Jawn"
http://www.skatejawn.com/ (http://www.skatejawn.com/)

Check it out - the cover for the most recent one is this guy I know in Bed Stuy  Brooklyn with a mini ramp he built in his backyard.

Really awesome stuff if you know the area - it's kinda surreal with the area being so rundown and barbed wire being right next to the ramp's fence.

Also - nice post with the Birthday Party - already booked the gyrating spider man and venom for my 27th Birthday.

I don't see that happening, ever. He's rad but not exactly the hottest commodity on the pro shoe market.

About these Lucas' shoes, I like them. If they fit good, might get a pair.

I spoke to the Adidas rep and these are retail for $80, all pro models will be 80 dollars.

No Pete Shoe but he's one of my favorites of all time.

Busenitz is currently working on his 2nd shoe, I'm scared for him because I have no idea how he's going to top his first model. (not that he has too)

Slias' new shoe is a one piece toe cap cupsole/vulc fused model with characteristics of "hiking" styles but by no means is as close as his first model. It's a basic model that should keep everyone happy & almost make people forget about his first shoe.

Gonz now has his own line and it's going to be offered to core/mainline shops. It includes 2 Gonz colorway pro models in the mainline but is available for all core shops. He even has his own line of sweat suits with matching Gonz emblems all over it and a womans line covered in Gonz artwork.
Getcha money mang...

Oh and I back the fuck out of Lucas' shoe. I'd pay for these beauties any day. When I had them in hand, they're flexible with a standard insole. I heard that the whole Adidas team has been skating this shoe and it's a favorite amongst all the riders. Some adjustments might be made but nothing too crazy.

I'm backing Lucas's shoe.  It's refreshing to see brands stepping out of the black/white vulc box that has ruled the market for the last few years.  The toe cap is interesting, I kinda like it.  And its rad to see cupsoles making a comeback.  The price seems a lil high, but I think prices on shoes are going to be a little higher in the near future.  I mean people are buying the fuck out of Janoskis for nearly 80 bucks, and let's be honest, there is nothing to that shoe.  It offers no protection, but its aesthetically pleasing, and that seems to be all that matters to people nowadays when buying shoes.  I think functionality is going to play a bigger role when skaters are making their shoe choices.

I love them. Really good shape, really nice little details on the shoe, at first glance they look really basic but there's some nice little design features on them. Nice shape toe and a little padding around the ankle but not too much.  These are samples, but pretty sure production will end up pretty close

the more i look at those silas the more hyped i get. so many little details. and the tongue looks really unique. anyone have more info/pictures?

I love them. Really good shape, really nice little details on the shoe, at first glance they look really basic but there's some nice little design features on them. Nice shape toe and a little padding around the ankle but not too much.  These are samples, but pretty sure production will end up pretty close

I can't decide between these or the herman g6's

Have to agree, plus the odd colourways mean that they'll be on sale in a couple of months

the more I see the Puig toecap the more I'm remined of the old vans Agah (albeit not rubber)

I really recommend people try them on first anyways. They're so thin I had to go down a half size. They're not that tight but they'll form to your foot and fit like a glove.

My local shop just got the Lucas shoe and the Silas 2s in and they are both pretty amazing.  I ended up buying the Lucas shoe and it skates so well right out of the box. It feels like its been broken in and fits very true to size, had to get a half size down. The materials they use on the lucas shoe are so much better than on any of the other adidas models and justify the $80 price tag.  They also utilize some adidas soccer shoe technology, a synthetic material on the inner-side panels of the shoe called Sprint Skin, which im guessing contributes to the shoes light weight and provides great rigidity. Sprint Skin Defined:  "Adidas Sprint Skin technology is a single layer synthetic that provides reduced weight and excellent ball control. Sprint Skin is a synthetic material that is lighter, thinner and softer than usual synthetics, making this football boot supreme for speed, comfort and feel. Increased ball control and lightweight features make Sprint Skin ideal for the serious player." The Silas 2s feel great. The amounting of padding used can be compared to the Koston 1 nike and the toe box has a nice round shape on the pointier side, would definitely get a pair. The sole reminds me of the janoski sole, which I enjoyed a lot.

confused as fugg.  fits very true to size, yet you got a half size down? and how does the toe look from above? it kinda looks all square and not good at all.

They fit kind of big: I wear 9,5 in Busenitz, 9 in these. The toe looks kind of big from above but not square at all.

Anybody else notice the problem of pebbles getting stuck in a real bad way in the threads of the soles? I feel like it's particularly bad in this shoe, to the point where I have to dig the pebbles out every single time I step on the board unless I want scratches on my griptape. Even walking 10 steps on sand for is enough for pebbles to get in the threads and they're not coming out easily. You have to use a key or whatever you happen to have handy.

It's like you'd have to carry your skateshoes to the spot and make sure not ever to step on anything but concrete.

Sorry about the rant but I'm going skating and I once again have to start the session with that bullshit, I just had to share this.

i've been skating mine for 3 or 4 weeks now and the stitching by your pinkie toe eventually starts to go at the corner of the toecap but there's a bit of suede under there and i basically glued the edge back down w/a bit of shoe goo.  if you don't do that it will eventually blow out.  otherwise the shoe is incredibly durable (apart from the fact that i'm on my 4th set of laces).
