This company was affiliated with aws and hbitat , when they shut down someof the riders switched over to aws. Anyone know why they shut down. I had a rob dydrek pro model with shiny graphics that flaked off., I personally thought the decks were dope and was bummed when they closed.

Sorry, but who the fuck was ever psyched on SEEK?
It had no identity whatsoever. Just seemed like a safe, boring place to put riders who ripped but they didn't feel like they could represent properly.

I had a few Kalis seek boards back then, i always thought the company and boards were good. Didnt they make the decks with chrome or silver around the edges?

i remember seek i always thought they were pretty cool. they were like a more "street" version of AWS.

that's kind of what i don't get. alien didn't need a 'street' alternative. alien was a collage of different styles before then, look at photosynthesis and you've got dill, ave, kalis, dyrdek and pappalardo. different music, different spots, different kinds of skaters - it worked perfectly. then they get kalis and dyrdek over to seek. for what? was the weakest move and hurt the alien aesthetic for a while. seek was tacky and nondescript. dgk is a proper home for kalis, seek's aesthetic just refused to embrace the market it seemed to be targeting.

This has been discussed so many times it's ridiculous. The art directors and graphic designers at DNA couldn't keep up with all three of the companies at once, so they eventually got overworked and had to scrap Seek.

i dunno but that part he had in the dc am video was fucking insane i thought he was finally gonna get his due for sure when that came out but the exact opposite happened for some reason.

Yeah, that was probably part of it too, but the art director thing was the reason DNA gave Kalis according to his Quartersnacks interview.

didnt danny way and collin mckay leave to start Plan B and thats when Seek got dissolved couple of months after. PJ leaves Flip and P Rod leaves Girl around the same time. 03 or 04, my first year of college.

Seek ended first with Kalis, Taylor, and Dyrdek being put on AWS, while Bjorn Johnston and Flo were put on AWS International and Alex was put on Habitat International. Then shortly after that, Colin and Danny hooked up to start Plan B with PJ, P Rod, and Ryan Gallant. I think they said something that since Seek went out of business unexpectedly, Colin and Danny figured it was as good of a time as any to restart Plan B.
I used to be really stoked on Seek so I vividly remember rereading the paragraph where they described all of those changes until I had it memorized.

Yeah always thought it was broadening the scope of what a DNA company could be to include euro/brasilian tech.

it wouldve been sicker if they had just put some of those guys on workshop proper. it really did come off as some cheesy hip hop divison and i was really confused by the whole thing.

i always thought the image and direction of Seek was really rad, but the team never seemed to be very cohesive. It really seemed like they
picked a bunch of random dudes that were super good and didnt have the best sponsors. This was also when Habitat was huge so even if Seek was doing ok it was probably a bad decision money wise to put resources into the company.
The company had been in the works forever though cuz i heard Pitre talking about it around the time Dyrdek was about to get his shoe on DC,
i don't think there was a name or anything attached at the time though.
