DVS = deep valley shoes
Mike Carroll used a name Malachi to hook up with girls, and suggest that as the name, but it wouldnt fit on the tongue. So he thought up Lakai
Rick Howard used the name girl cause that was an insult he got a lot as a kid

and i heard carroll had the nickname malachi from children of the corn.

I believe you're wrong there. Airwalk made the first DC's.
You are flat wrong. Airwalk never made D.C. and is does stand for "droors clothing," it says so in a "15 things you didn't know about d.c. shoes" "article" (in quotes because its really a list) in a skateboarder a little while ago.
