sounds rad! anything with silas and josh matthews has gotta be good. transworld videos haven't really lived up to the hyde in recent years (apart from cinematographer project obviously), but i'm hyped on this line up.

i've got itunes vouchers burning a hole in my pocket!

The whole vid smashed. Tom and Josh and Walker and Julian all killed it. Which one had "For Want Of" by Rites of Spring? I think either Trasmission or Greatest Hits. They were the best band ever.

It's a bummer to me that skate vids are so devalued. I mean, I love seeing ten hours of bullshit on the internet every day, but there's definitely something to be said for The Video. Wish it still meant as much. Everything is so fleeting and I really enjoy having a permanent record in a physical sense.

I will always have a VHS player for the memories...

What did you guys think? Walker and Silas had really good parts. I thought Julian's was a little bland and that Trappaso cameo kinda shocked me. I thought it was one of the better TWS videos lately.

It was good, but why on earth did they give that boring kid the last part?  Silas clearly should have. It took me half of that other kid's part to fully process the 5050 rail hop at the end of Silas's part anyway.

I thought this was one of the most boring Tws videos ive seen in a long time. I thought with having new guys work on the video it would be different than the last ones but I was wrong. Trick wise the video was awesome, but 90% of the music was soo bad I couldn't even pay attention to the skating. Josh Matthews part was probably the harshest of all, next to jimmy carlin. Walkers part was incerdible as well as Julian Davidsons but overall the slow emo boring music just did not do it for me.

I was in a shop today half watching it, half checking out other shit, but I thought it was pretty sick. Josh matthews had a good part and silas is silas. From what I saw it was better than most of the recent transworld vids

He does basic tricks. His style is solid I guess, but does anybody even really have sketchy style anymore? Even the supposed sketchy dudes have pretty solid form when it comes to the fundamentals. Sammy Baca and Lizard King both have perfect kickflips.
In the end though, compared to Tom Remillard and Silas can you honestly say that his part deserved curtains? I might have appreciated his part more if it wasn't put in as the ender.

i feel the same, not that right foot forward, Hallelujah, and NATV weren't good, its just they weren't edited near the old videos and the line ups weren't as solid. sure they always have one or two amazing people but this video is pretty stacked. And Now was the last great tws video besides the cinematographer project

This video was a snoozefest. Josh Matthews stuff was sick, but obviously not the best shit he's put out. Silas nailed it on all accounts. Remillard was pretty sick. I don't know who Julian Davidson is but he his skateboarding was not nearly as cute as the 8,000 face shots with his bobbing blonde hair. Also Jimmy Carlin is a fuckface who should switch to rollerblading to match his personality.

if you like jimmy carlin, he has a decent part in my opinion. hes got a pretty gnarly impossible and his hardflips are top notch. i dont really care much for his tech stuff, but his bigger tricks are pretty sick.

if you dont like jimmy carlin, you should probably skip it.

Video is actually pretty good.  Unlike most Transworld videos, there wasn't the usual "skip" part.  But maybe that is just because I enjoy Jimmy Carlin's heelflips.  Music wasn't actually that bad, the parts just were not edited to the songs like in most other videos.  I like the fact that there is some raw footage of Julien and Silas after the credits.

josh matthew's tune is aggressively shitty. bummer cause his part is sick otherwise.

the other songs aren't necessarily bad but they aren't great skate video songs.

skip the fuck outta carlins part the 1st 12 seconds he was already "trying" to be funny next clip was him belly rolling, fuck him and his overly filmed hardflips.

a shame what they did to josh's part...

walker and julian had some good tunes and great footage

wouldnt be a tws video without some shitty music.

Just watched it. Pretty much every part was pretty solid. Music was shit. Yadda, yadda, yadda. Silas should've gotten ender for sure. Julian's part was dope.
Walker's part was rad.
Carlin's part was pretty good, but nothing special.
Tom's part was gnarly.

the video is great.  Will probably end up being one of my all time favorites.  And at first I thought Josh Mathews song was wack but then i smoked a lot of weed and i came to understand the feel he was going for and that part was sick.  Silas is certainly one of the greatest skateboarders to ever walk this earth and walker and josh have to of the best styles on the planet right now.  such a good selection of skateboarders

That rumor is wrong.
Yeah, only 90% of it was filmed at Washington St. I did like his part more than I thought I would, though. Really liked the fs board on the oververt.

Good overall with some serious tricks being thrown down throughout. Jimmy had my personal favorite part, the guy's impossibles, hardlfips, heelflips and double flips are amazing, plus his part was to starfucker which is a personal favourite of mine. Editing is kinda cheesy at times with a LOT of film burns speed ups and general corny shit like that, which can detract and become annoying. Some of the music also came across as plain/boring for a skate part, but not bad by any means. Also Silas and Julian went in, god damn.

I felt the same on the montage. Usually that has been the bread and butter of Transworld videos but this one seemed sort of bleh.

Not hyped on the music and as much as I love oldies, Papa Was a Rolling Stone seemed sort of odd for Walker Ryan. And yes.....Silas kills. Him and Busenitz should do a shared Adidas part. They both skate fast as fuck.

I bought the DVD to take with me for a work trip. Agree with much of what's already been posted in this thread. The editing just seemed to meander and was just plain odd to me at times. Music selection I was indifferent on. That said, the skating is top notch all the way through. Silas and Walker are probably my favorite parts, both guys are flat out ridiculous on a skateboard and have unbelievable control.

All the gay editing that used to plague those late 2000's transworld vids was gone only to be overshadowed by Walker Ryan skating to the most inappropriate song since Eli Reed's "Taking Care of Business" fuck up.

Other than that Jamie Thomas' tree wallie was sick as fuck and Sean Malto's switch flip should have been in Pretty Sweet.

Besides "the silas trick", theres lots of little innovative things in the video. On the other hand theres a solid ammount of filler. You could easily cut 10 minutes out and it wouldve made this a really good transworld video.

i wish transworld could aspire to pick songs that were actually good and not just songs that "werent horrible". Dont these guys listen to music or watch good video parts? They must know how this comes off. Kids are impressionable idiots, but have some class. i dunno, i just get the vibe that transworld doesnt care because they know they dont have to work hard to sell the video or to promote their mag.

At first i thought the part order was dumb but then it makes sense because they want to promote julian davidson and walker ryan as the new guys who are going to be valuable to the mag in the next few years. Neither of them deserved it but it makes sense if you think about the moneymen involved. It is transworld.

Josh matthews and silas are getting repeat viewings.

Like everybody said, Silas' ender was super gnarly.Definitely some of the most innovative shit to go down ever. his whole part is filled with awesome little things and lines though. The whole thing deserves rewatches.

Josh matthews was the unexpected surprise, why is no one talking about his 3rd & army lines? Those were easily some of the most creative lines to go down there. That rail transfer line is probably the first time i ever saw anybody use that trick like that. But that song made me think of being in a grocery store. im really not sure what they were going for with that song.

Walker ryan is the definition of an average pro. i feel like you can always use this guys skating as s proxy for what the average pro is thinking. Nothing innovative, some marginally wacky spots get 5050ed or lipslid, wallies, token firehydrant trick in da city, normal manual combos, lots of played out spots, lots of played out new york spots; the whole part felt like it was a job he had to fulfill than something he put any thought into it. Im sure hes "grateful for the opportunity" or whatever but it felt a tad lifeless. I want to say that song sucks but honestly it fits his skating and the direction transworlds been heading in for the last few years.

Also, Julian davidson ollies a smoke stack and nosemanuals down a roof. If you guys thought that sucked youre probably stupid. The 5-0 down that huge white hubba was amazing. I wish his part had more of that stuff.

I can sort of see what you mean, although I disagree.  I think he rips and is just as creative as anyone, if not more so.  He lacks all the unnecessary flair (whether it be how they dress or some trendy extracurricular activity) that lots of other pros rely on.

i called him an average pro, not a terrible skater. im not talking about his clothes or his extracurricular activities, his lifestyle footage. im saying his aspirations are average and that makes him an average pro. he is as creative as most people, thats what makes him average. lots of people skate like him, pick spots like him, and think the same way he does. that doesnt make him terrible. if i thought he was terrible i wouldve just said that.

BTW, if anyone wants to take the drm off of their itunes purchase you can use a free software called requiem, which is available here:
https://tag3ulp55xczs3pn.onion.to/

It won't remove all your purchase info, so I wouldn't go and upload it somewhere, but at least you won't have any limits for watching it on other devices or anything like that.

Also, agree with everyone else about the music being off on this.
