Title: skate shoes with wide toe box
Post by: McDonald's Hot Fudge Sundae on August 13, 2013, 01:03:07 PM
Any knowledge of shoes with wider toe box areas? Most Vulc seem to fit, but how about Lakai XLK?

Yes. Trying on in person is best. But saving time searching and knowing what to ask/look for is super helpful. Many thanks!

If you want a specific vulc I'd recommend the TNT5, nice and wide toward the toes.

Seriously, the TNT5s have to have the widest toebox in the known world; I had to lace mine so tight the eyelet rows were touching.

Vans Stage IVs are good, the DC Mike MO.

Like you I need  wide toe box.

The first DC Chris Coles have a light bulb shaped toe box that is not too pointy.

Always had good luck with Vans. Rowley Slims from maybe 6-7 years ago were great. Dustin Dollin No Skool broke in well too. I prefer their cup soles as super flexible (if not the weird mega tall and stiff cup style they used to sell at Melvyn's, brown and navy color, that I only ever saw dads or toddlers wearing). Those looked more like a Skechers.

Huf 1984 I have eyed since out, but I think The Choice has same style in Vulc so may try that. Lucas Adidas are a surprise to hear are wide and generous in toe box. . I have wanted a pair of Adidas but they all look so narrow. Two SLAPs vouching for them make it worth the effort.

My foot is an exact 10 1/2. Usually need to get 11 in any SoleTech shoes (unless vulcanized). Nike are to thin (unless a dunk, never bought them, just tried on at a goodwill once). I guess a Janoski may fit too. They seem to have the wide front of a classic Vans slip on. TNT 5 are available on eBay and some nos web site. Most other show taco my foot. It hurts so bad. Do not have bunions yet but trying to avoid them.

Please keep the help flowing. Warm fuzzies for all the assistance. Reading about skate gear actually makes me hungry, as if watching good food being made. Healthy oddity hopefully. Victimless obsession. But just for the record, not a Jenkem shoe stomp associate. That is confusing.
