im looking how to dechunk a pretty rough ledge. I found an ally that with a little polish could be a gem of a line spot. no foot traffic and no chance of getting booted and like 5 elements in a row. the only issue is that the ledge on the end of the run of spots is chunked to shit. can anyone direct me to an existing thread with info on how to fix the ledge?

has it been waxed before? if not get a rub brick (or 3 depending on the chunk) and go to work. If it has wax on it though it won't work. after you get it nice and smooth/flush put a coating of polyurethane lacquer on to help preserve it. after that you will need minimal wax.

It's had a layer of wax put on it but I wouldn't call it "waxed" if it's waxed cannot I not brick rub it?

You can still rub brick, it just takes a lot more effort. The wax gets stuck in the brick and it is harder to wear through than the concrete. I'm guessing with minimal wax it shouldn't be an issue.
Here's something I have done that worked well - rub brick, then wax, and then house paint.

Thanks for the tips. I'm going to get one of those brick rubs and make this baby skateable.

pour gas on it, light it up, melts the wax out usually off the side.
