I wish every shoe I had was made with randyprene.

Chuck taylor predates the pf flyer by almost 20 years.
-
Had those Emericas, great shoe! People thought I was nuts skating in those 9 years ago, now no one would bat an eye.
-
Does anyone remember these?
Droors clothing shoes. The only shoe Droors made, and it was a Chuck Taylor ripoff. Later they became DC.

The Chuck Taylor came out 20 years before the PF Flyer.

these are so ugly but I bet they're great to skate in.

That's why huf did the curved toe cap with no black stripe - no infringement here.
-
whats next, Levis suing every company that make 5 pocket jeans?

yeah but vans should sue them now right since this is clearly salman agah's shoe. Lol at Huf when they couldnt rip of a current shoe they dig out one most kids never seen or know existed

Salmon Agah Camel toe was my shit!
I see a bit of a Randyprene infringement on the toe of these HUF's

This really shows Nike's true colors again with the skate community

They're not as blessed as Nike is with the fact that the slang term for their product ("chucks") clearly refers to the Nike-owned product "Chuck Taylor All Star". You can't actually sue on design, so Levi's couldn't actually sue for a competitor making a five pocket jean. If we lived in a different world where "Levis" was slang for any denim pant, then yes, they actually could.
This is probably why Nike (i'm not talking Nike SB... i'm talking Nike the whole thing) saw Converse as a desirable brand in the first place.
-
Any examples of Nike/Nike SB ripping off other skate shoe designs over the years?

Except for the toe cap, the rest of the panels aren't the same at all. These Hufs are definitely closer to the Nike All Court than Chucks.

Converse has a shoe in the 40's that the Era design came from. Can't remember the model though. I think the sorta-skate Converse line still has them.
Also bummed on this because it resulted in the shut down of the company that sold Ethletic Fair Trade and certified vegan chuck taylor knock offs that I was gonna start buying after I ran thru all my old shoes. Now only available in europe as far as I know

As much as I dislike big corps, I can't blame them.

Eras are a generic design that goes back to at least the turn of the century. The upper pattern is based on the "Oxford" design that goes back centuries. Vans, however, holds two noteworthy patents: the waffle sole and checkerboard pattern uppers.
