Anyone know the secret to downloading videos from Thrasher, now that they got rid of the mp4 option? I used to be able to get them with the FVD Downloader plugin in chrome or the DownloadHelper plugin in firefox, but neither seem to work anymore.
-
I use Antvideo, for firefox, and grab them from youtube. Usually what's on the site is also on their youtube channel.
-
you cant grab straight from their website because their videos are in the new flashvideo format and its all fragments that are spliced together. kinda hard to explain but it not possible
-
I also wait for YT, but I just found there is a way to get videos from Ooyala player that Thrasher uses:

Don't have time now to try it, but I will in the future.

Sorry to bother you guys. I also have a problem when downloading a video from Twitter. When I paste the URL to the VLC in order to download, it shows MRL error, as you can see in this article (http://www.videoconverterfactory.com/tips/how-to-download-a-twitter-video.html (http://www.videoconverterfactory.com/tips/how-to-download-a-twitter-video.html)) it mentions. How to download a Twitter video without any other third party software? I only want to use VLC or Windows Media Player. Is there any tool to fix the MRL failure?

How To Download Videos From Thrasher Magazine using Firefox-
Open video page and press Ctrl + U.
Now that you are on the "View Source" page press Ctrl + F and type in "testv4".
It should now show you a link that begins with "content=".
Copy the entire blue link and paste it in a new tab/window.
Now you should see just the video with no other text.
Press Ctrl + U to open up the "View Source" page and look for "playlist" link (example: cdn.jwplayer.com/v2/media/brYnQXcq?poster_width=1280&recommendations_playlist_id=eo3i6sEV)
Copy that link and paste it in a new tab/window.
Now you should see a list of video links highlighted in pink and labeled by different resolutions.

That Internet Download Manager plugin is the best way, you can download stuff from pretty much anywhere. Only lasts a month or so though before the trial expires

Video DownloadHelper works great with firefox
