Goodness. T-Funk reminds me of Mariano in Video Daze but that's probably just because he kind-of looks like him, rips, and is tiny. Dekyzer seems so incredibly comfortable on a skateboard...ledge dancing done right. This is killer.

I like T-Funk. He's got some speed and power for such a little guy.

Bobby has fast feet, but his style's a little off to me - his upper body is always stiff, I don't really get it.

yeah... Bobby's amazing, but he's gotta grind those ledges a tad more in his lines... it was almost annoying to see him bonk the ledge over and over. phenomenal skating otherwise

Talk about polar opposites...
First the short kid with power (this kid is going to grow into a monster) then the tall lanky guy with finesse...
Both of them killed it in their own way.

Little Louie i was amazed when i saw him on weekend buzz and heard he was 17, i thought he was 12. He def grew since though. Even if Funkhouser doesn't get much taller, he'll forsure add more power as he ages, its not like Westgate is a giant.

Bobby Dekeyzer's destroyed bickford, those 3 tricks were insane.

Funkhouser absolutely reminds me of Dressen. Even if he isn't as young as everyone assumes, his skating's still gonna be a lot more mature in a few years, and I look forward to seeing it. And I like his attitude too.

Deykeyzer blows. His natural style is stiff and awkward, and then he slathers the affected "stylish" composed push/arms on top of it. Really going for that "copy of a copy" vibe, pulling more from Austyn than Dylan.. A lot of his trick selection is awful, some of the "tasteful tech" ledge tricks ala Puig/mid-'90s Mariano were fine, and for neither better or worse that fakie flip b/s shifty was pretty out of left field/straight out of PJLWHL. He would be 25% cooler if he stopped doing 180 no complies altogether. There's a chance that he eventually and legitimately matures in say five years, using his obvious talents for some top tier, original skating, but I'm not holding my breath. I can acknowledge the fact that it really is THAT much harder to be born Canadian and be attempting to shoot for "cool skater".

Bobby does shit that is so fucked, but it looks so easy that it doesn't even register. It'd take me twenty tries to do one of his simpler tricks on a ledge. Forget about in a line hauling ass. Digging him.

I like Funkhouser's name, so I'm rooting for him. Impressive for a little dude. My brother is of a similar build and looks sixteen even though he's twenty six. Even if the kid style never goes away, he skates comically fast and is fun to watch. No face tats though, young T Funk.

BOBBY DEKEYZER SLUB BUCKS PART (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=muQla90tsvg#)

Changed his style so much in 3 years, wow. Just watch this part, his style in it is like a polar opposite to his style now.
[close]

are you kidding? his style is the exact same except he's taller now. All these style police on this site acting as though he forces his now. SMH. def just skates the way he skates and IMO his style is sick as fuck..There's a ton of funny shit that's said on here, but the jealousy induced nit picking that goes on is laughable. a lot of morons who literally have no clue what's up talking out their asses. btw the new part is beautiful.

Did you even read my post? There was no hating at all in it. I think his new footage is super sick, but i'm just saying that he used to be someone who mostly just did single tricks, like mostly sets/gaps. From watching his old stuff, it's surprising that he skates how he does now, and that's not a bad thing. I'm hyped he skates how he does now because it's sick, i'm just saying that it didn't look like he would, based on his other footage.

You suck.

both those dudes are sick but will hopefully age into a more natural flow. t-funk definitely has the hurried push ala leo, but makes up for it with the same gusto and heart in each trick. other people have called bobby out on the weird arm/upper body motions; seems like he's overthinking that, but maybe it's all part of his balance. in any case, he's got those certain tricks down: shuv nosegrind reverts and halfcab flips for days. and that impossible up the long 6 at frankfurter tor! insane that people are doing shit up that nowadays...i got an ollie down that back in 09 and was pretty happy with that lol.

yah...180 no complys are getting super played out. But I actually love the dude's trick selection. He knows whats up and has a great eye. Can't really say much about the kid's arms, I'm not here to 'nit-pick people's style', BUT I was really surprised how mature and awesome the first kid's style is considering all the talk leading up to this was about how he's such a puny runt.

Both guys kill it. One's gonna grow up to be a super gnardog and the other one's already a hipster. Both of their images appeal to certain people on here, add em up and it accounts for 98% Slap approval one way or the other. Good going DC

Are people really hating on T-Funk's style for being short as if that's something he has any control over? Dude did some grown man tricks with grown man style in a little kid body. That's pretty sick if you ask me.

Another funny thing I noticed. If you look in the Felipe True thread, everybody is bitching about the way he just barely taps ledges- but that dude looks like Brian Wenning at his prime compared to the way Bobby Dekeyzer just barely bonks those things, yet nobody says a word. I like both of them a lot, and think Bobby's part in this was amazing, and that Felipe's part in true was amazing. I just find it funny how one thread is filled with that hate, and the other has none at all. Its almost like a completely different group of people are responding to this part and the Felipe one.

i just got around to watching this and yeah there were alot of bonks. one of my main issues with the gustavo part was that it's for the plan b video so my standards for it were higher. and now i'm cursed with having to pay attention to how long someone grinds for for all eternity. but i guess i always did that.

anyway i'm definitely going to watch this part again, bobby killed it even with the bonks, seemed to have alot of variety and skates nice and fast. the future looks sick. switch back smith front 180? get the fuck outta here.

I know in Bobby's Blue Tile part that some of the ledges he skates are really close together.  The courthouse benches where he does the line with the kf back noseblunt in Toronto are a good example of how good this kid is. The ground is really rough and there isn't much time at all to set up in between benches.  In cases like that it's almost impossible to grind the entire bench.  He's still young, so I'm sure it's just a matter of time before he starts grinding most of his tricks a bit more when possible.

Some people just refuse to see the truth. Felipe did Nollie flip crooked nollie flip out and grinded the entire stair ledge. No shit you have to tap grind when you're doing nollie/fakie tre back 5-0s, silly silly opinions. Next thing you'll hear is that Torey slides for too long.

The ground is really rough and there isn't much time at all to set up in between benches.  In cases like that it's almost impossible to grind the entire bench.  He's still young, so I'm sure it's just a matter of time before he starts grinding most of his tricks a bit more when possible.

hahahaha, now not only did people not mention it, but when I do, they come up with excuses for why its ok if Bobby does it, but not Felipe. Too funny. You guys are looking too hard for a reason to hate on Felipe.

well it's like corey kennedy's sasquatch part. alot of his tricks had big tic tacs or didn't grind super well or whatever. i didn't care, it was still rad and it wasn't hyped up for years. if he did tricks that way for pretty sweet i wouldn't be that stoked and would probably say something.

maybe i don't like gustavo, maybe i don't like ledge tricks grinding less than a foot. there was enough going on in bobby's part that the short grinds didn't feel like most of what was happening. gustavo's seemed to be only short grinds, but maybe that's because i read the comment pointing out that fact before i watched the video.

can you think of any other video parts where the grinds were as short as in gustavo's part?  maybe i just want everyone to be marc johnson

I'll repeat this again. Felpie, Nollie Flip Crook Nollie Flip, 6 foot long stair ledge, grinds whole ledge. Go do Nollie Varial Crook and tell me how long you grind.

Wait Tristan's SPOT profile says he's 17.  Is that right?
I thought he was like 13 or 14.  Is this another Louie Lopez scenario where everyone thinks he's a kid but he's actually just a dwarf?

Prime Wenning, IMO, is DC video Wenning. He does have a lot of short grinds but he also has some long ones. Felipe is a beast, not my favorite skater by any means, a lot of the shit he did was insane but they were all 2 foot Mike York grinds. Comparing Bobby and Felipe, to me Bobby's style flows more and he didn't skate to some lame Officer Ricki song. Felipe is also pro for Plan B and Bobby is now an AM for DC. Couldn't tell you his board sponsor.

I never said a word about Felipe.  I'm just pointing out that some spots and tricks are tough to grind long.  Also that Bobby is young and will improve with time. I haven't watched Felipe's latest part so I can't even comment on why people are hating on it.

That's fair, and I don't have a problem with how Bobby skates, I just think its hilarious how in one thread people are bitching about nollie 360 flip  back 5-0's being too short, but here nobody really seems to in the same angry way.

Pretty sure guy was 14-15 for the filming for Video days considering he was born in 76. T-Funk was 16 for most of the filming for this so not a massive age different.
